Very good food, served very quickly, and friendly service. Highly recommended.

We've been there several times and are completely satisfied. The menu selection isn't overwhelming. Every dish is beautifully presented and served with typical Asian courtesy. Of course, all of this can take a little time, but quality takes time. If you want your food faster, you should go to a fast-food place. We are more than happy and will continue to sample everything on the menu. Thank you for your great work!

We went to eat at Zen Garden. Unfortunately, we weren't impressed; some of the food was cold, and the waitstaff rarely came to our table.

I booked a table online and received the reservation confirmation promptly. The selection at the lunch buffet was very extensive: salad bar, various meats, vegetables, side dishes, and Peking soup. Some items weren't as hot as one might like, but that's usually the case with buffets. A dessert buffet was also available (though not very extensive). Drinks were relatively expensive, but "in line with current prices," meaning they weren't significantly more expensive than in other restaurants. I could have spent hours in my kitchen preparing this variety of food (not to mention the shopping). We all enjoyed it. Definitely recommended if you don't feel like cooking for hours and want to offer your guests a diverse lunch menu.

The long-standing restaurant has a new, charming ambiance. A truly wonderful atmosphere thanks to modern furniture, thoughtful decor, and impressive details (the wallpaper is a real eye-catcher). We ate à la carte and were delighted. The buffet also looked extensive, and the lemonades were also highly recommended. Dogs are allowed.

I've known the restaurant for over 40 years, visiting the ice cream parlor and the planetarium as a child, and cruising around the Gotthard Lake in a boat. Now, after it's been renovated and reopened in October 2024, four of us came here for dinner, and it was really good. 🍜🍤🍥🍡🥡🥠🫖🍵🥂🍻 The ambiance is now truly beautiful; the rose wallpaper at the entrance is gorgeous, the wall decor above the windows with the integrated light is very beautiful, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed the food. Thank you for this lovely evening. 😍 The fact that we were also able to marvel at a lunar eclipse was very romantic! 🤩

Today, for my wife's birthday, we showed up at Zen Garden without a reservation during peak hours. Since it was midweek, we got a table. The experience was great, as always. The service was unobtrusive, polite, yet professional. The food was well presented and delicious. The wine rounded off the excellent experience.

We're used to more and better from a Chinese restaurant... Unfortunately, we were very disappointed, especially with the buffet... There was a note on the ice cream freezer saying: Ice cream is not part of the buffet... 🤔🤷😢

Great atmosphere, delicious food, but poor service when it came to drinks! Our glasses were empty for a long time, and no one looked or stopped by. We always had to get up or ask for someone. They said the buffet started at 5:30 p.m.... It was actually 6:00 p.m. The restrooms could also be better maintained.

We ate there on Sunday afternoon for the first and certainly last time. We opted for the much-praised buffet and were very, very disappointed. The food was cold and unappetizing; there really wasn't much on the buffet, and most of it was frozen. Cutlery was lying around openly...so anyone could touch it...pillows... The prices for the drinks were shocking, especially since we could see that the water was from the "good & cheap" brand. A 1.5-liter PET bottle costs €0.29, while we paid a whopping €8.50 for 0.7 liters. RUDENESS AND SOMEWHAT FRAUD!! Next, I had to use the restroom, a complete disaster... filthy, with cobwebs and toilet seats that couldn't possibly be dirtier. I've only ever seen it this bad on motorway restrooms. DISGUSTING!!!!

A truly beautiful ambiance awaited us here. We opted for the buffet option and were a little annoyed when we looked at the menu afterward, as the selection sounded very good and the others looked really delicious and appealing. The buffet food, however, left nothing to be desired. There was something for every taste, and everything tasted absolutely delicious. The food was delicious and freshly prepared. All in all, highly recommended.

We ate here for Mother's Day. It was very crowded, loud, and the service was not really that great. We ordered from the menu and had to wait a long time. I had curry with rice, very simply presented. The price was okay at €15, but nothing more. The atmosphere is very nice and not as typical as you'd expect from an Asian restaurant.

Two of us went to the lunch buffet. The selection was good. Everything tasted good. I thought the homemade drinks were delicious. I liked that you could also order à la carte. The view of the Gotthardteich lake is also unbeatable.

The Zen Garden in Merseburg at the Gotthard Pond is simply fantastic! Since the remodel, the ambience inside has become modern, stylish and incredibly cozy. The buffet really leaves nothing to be desired - everything is fresh, varied and tastes an absolute dream. I would also like to particularly highlight the staff, who are always friendly, attentive and courteous. If you get a seat by the window, you can also enjoy a fantastic view of the Gotthard Pond. We are completely thrilled and would love to come back again and again!

Very tasty food and nice, quick service. There were 11 of us and it was perfectly fine that some of us ate from the menu and some from the buffet. From the menu we had various starters, various vegetarian sushi variants and udon noodles with tofu and vegetables. We were very satisfied and would like to come back. The atmosphere is modern and chic, really cool shop.

Went to the Zen Garden for the umpteenth time today and I like what came out of it, the ambience and the service, but I'm not sure if you're doing yourself a favor with the buffet offering. The food is too cold, the selection is relatively small and quite “Germanized”. Traditional food would be nicer. À la carte the medal rotates 180 degrees. Excellent selection of dishes and very good sushi. In the end there is probably something for everyone. On my next visits I will probably only order directly from the excellent menu.

Food and service was very good. Went there at lunchtime on a Saturday. In addition to the dishes on the menu, a buffet is also offered at a fixed price.

The dining room has been beautifully redesigned. Stylish furniture, beautiful walls. The menu is no longer page-long, but instead features truly witty names for extremely delicious dishes. Finally, Vietnamese cuisine and sushi are also available. We'll be happy to come back.

I have visited the restaurant 3 times and will definitely not visit it again. The ambience is very nice, but it cannot make up for the poor service and the quality of the food. The waitress is rude, speaks poor German and has not learned the craft of gastronomy. She couldn't follow the simplest rules of table service and was also unfriendly and stroppy. The cutlery was simply put on the table and everyone had to put it on their own place. I was accompanied by 5 older women, who were treated disrespectfully and unfriendly. The food was more than poor, lukewarm and the rice was so sticky that it had to be cut. I complained about it, which was followed by no apology and the new portion of rice was lukewarm. Paying at the counter in a full restaurant is also very hard to get used to! You just stand in line, like it used to be in the GDR. I don't want to talk too much about the toilets, the simplest standard, smelly and simply not acceptable for a restaurant. The restaurant is really beautifully decorated. But on Women's Day, it was so crowded that I felt like I was in a train station lobby... noisy and it was hardly possible to have a conversation at the table! I cannot therefore recommend this restaurant. Leipzig or Halle certainly have better service and the selection and quality of the food is definitely better!

I ate here for the first time in a long time, and I have to say, I really enjoyed it. The food was delicious, and the ambiance is beautiful, simple, and more modern than before. It also has a wonderful view of the Gotthardteich lake, where you can take a leisurely stroll before or after your meal.

I've been waiting a long time for new life to be breathed into this location. The result is really something to see and taste. The newly renovated restaurant looks very modern, which can also be said about the menu. All the employees seemed to be in a good mood when we visited shortly after the reopening and were also very friendly when serving us. We liked the food and it was really tasty. Now we are curious about what else is available and will definitely come back soon to try out more dishes. I'm curious to see whether the outdoor area will also undergo the same overhaul as the interior over time. Some guests would certainly be happy about this. Keep it up! Update (03/25/2025): I've been here for dinner a few times now. Unfortunately, it took longer on each visit until the food was served after ordering. Peak time was 2 hours - and that also at some neighboring tables. That absolutely has to change. Therefore I deprive the service of another point.

The food is delicious. Unfortunately the service was totally overwhelmed. Nobody comes to the table and asks for drinks. To pay you have to go to the checkout yourself. The restaurant was totally overloaded and only 3 employees. Very unfortunate.

The location by the pond is very nice. We went to the buffet for lunch. For 15 euros I actually expect there to be beef and pork too. Unfortunately you can't take ice cream either. There are more for less money in other stores.

The food was very tasty but unfortunately the service wasn't that friendly. We were in this city for an event. It was full when we were there and we made reservations for a later time. When we went back the waitress wasn't that friendly and we felt like she was ignoring us. We went to the waitress and then asked if we could order. During the course of the evening no one even paid any attention to us. It's a shame because the restaurant is very nice and the food is delicious.

The restaurant is in a great location and is beautifully decorated, but the acoustics are very loud due to the height of the room and the tables are very narrow and they are also too close to the neighboring tables. You are constantly busy sliding back and forth. We had to clear most of the dirty dishes ourselves so that we could continue eating from the buffet. The staff wasn't quite as friendly as usual. The selection at the buffet was ok, but somehow a bit modest. Others offer more for the same price. Some of the food was also a bit cold. The taste was okay. The turkey liver dish was delicious, it was cooked to perfection and the hoisin or canton sauce, whatever it was called, was also great. The mockery, however, was the baked wontons. A lot of dough and maybe a third of a teaspoon as a filling - we've never experienced that before! All in all it was okay, but you don't really have to go there again!

Unfortunately, I can't comment on the cuisine or the ambience. Couldn't enjoy both. Despite making a reservation by phone, our name couldn't even begin to be found. They weren't at all interested in finding a solution, perhaps in the interests of the guest. You won't find Asian hospitality here. Unfortunately I have to give it one star, although even that is too many.

This was our first time in the restaurant since the renovation. The new facility is very attractive. However, the tables are now so close together that you can look directly at your neighbor's plate. You can order dishes from the menu or eat from the buffet. The buffet is no longer as extensive as it used to be. The salad bar and dessert have shrunk quite a bit. The food tastes very good. New additions include sushi and delicious home-made lemonades. The restaurant was very busy, it is better to reserve in advance, which is now also possible online via the website.

The buffet wasn't really my cup of tea (in terms of taste and selection). However, I gave it a second chance and ate à la carte yesterday. The Tom Kha Gai soup was VERY very good and the sushi too! Really delicious! Saturdays are really busy, which led to slightly longer waiting times. But that was ok for us :)

We wanted to try a new Asian restaurant and tested the buffet. I have to say that I personally didn't like it. First of all, the positive: it was pleasant in the dining room and the food on the menu also looked good. At the buffet, very little choice, but the taste was okay. We also understood the website to mean that there was sushi, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. You could have at least included 2 or 3 varieties. The waitress didn't pay any attention to us and the dirty dishes were left there for ages. The toilet was terrible, the whole anteroom smelled like a train station toilet. Conclusion: next time it would be better to go back to Leipzig or Halle.

The ambience and the food are convincing, the prices are reasonable and the staff is very friendly.

After the renovation, the ambience is one of the most beautiful restaurants in the city of Merseburg. A place where the guest feels comfortable.

When you come in you see a very nice modern Asian atmosphere. There is also delicious food, the service is top and very friendly staff. However, I have two things to complain about: 1. The entrance area is quite cramped by the cloakroom and 2. the calamari rings are unfortunately an imitation, but all in all it's very successful and that's why I would personally recommend it!

Since the renovation it has been a 10/10. We were thrilled to finally have good Asian food. Large sushi menu, was super tasty. And also pho, punch, and much more. The service still needs some improvement. We'd love to come back. Finally the snack bar style has been ditched. Great modern Asian cuisine! 👍

A very nice atmosphere with very high quality Asian cuisine. Unfortunately, the staff is heavily involved with the buffet on the weekend, so you have to make yourself known when you order again. But the food is super tasty and the staff is super friendly.

After this year's very successful renovation, we wanted to try out the "new" restaurant. The new design is very attractive and makes this place very inviting. We were greeted warmly and got a nice table without a reservation. After a short time, the restaurant was full in the evening, even in the middle of the week. The service didn't take long and our food and drinks came quickly. The food offers something for everyone, but it's a matter of taste, everyone was happy with our dinner and we'll be happy to come back.

We wanted to dine with 9 people on Saturday after making a telephone reservation. When we got there at 6 p.m. there was apparently no reservation in our name. There was no way we could stay either. The ambience in the newly renovated restaurant is very nice and quite successful. Unfortunately, the service still has a lot of room for improvement. It all took a long time and a rude answer from the waiter like "I can't now" is also unacceptable. The food was very tasty and the portions were large enough, so the price-performance ratio was right. Unfortunately, a vegetarian dish came with chicken instead of tofu, which was quickly swapped, but unfortunately there was still chicken in the sauce, which unfortunately wasn't noticed until late and is a no go as a vegetarian! As compensation there was at least a cocktail on the house. We were guests on a busy Saturday evening. Unfortunately, all of the circumstances lead to the very poor rating. I think if the team was better coordinated and the processes were in place, the rating would certainly be better.

The atmosphere is really nice, the renovation was worth it. However, a few tables would be less comfortable to sit on. It is very narrow in places. The food was okay but unfortunately nothing special. Extremely greasy and serving on aluminum foil is not appealing. The service was very nice, but completely overwhelmed. Orders were taken incorrectly and forgotten several times. So some of our drinks only came after the food was served.
