Asia Haus Schierke in Wernigerode

We stayed at Asia Haus Schirke over the weekend, from Friday to Sunday, and actually really enjoyed it. The room was very clean and newly renovated. The only thing that bothered me/us a bit was the breakfast, which wasn't bad. But on both days, we received the same thing as the day before. We missed the variety... because for €24, you can at least expect to get something like yogurt, fish, liverwurst, etc., to offer some variety. We can't comment on the dinner, as we were at the Christmas market both days. Otherwise, apart from the breakfast, we would recommend it... Perhaps future reviews will provide some guidance, and next time we'll get some variety on the menu 😉☕☕

We went to the restaurant and had dinner. Despite the hectic atmosphere, the staff was very friendly. The chef personally brought the food to our table. He was in great spirits and clearly enjoyed himself.

We dined at the Asia Haus restaurant in Schierke last night and had an overall very pleasant experience, deserving of a solid four stars. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, with simple yet attractive decor that creates a relaxed atmosphere—perfect for dinner after a day in the Harz Mountains. The location in Schierke is ideal for hikers and visitors looking for a change from typical Harz cuisine. The food was truly delicious and a welcome change. We opted for crispy duck with sweet and sour sauce and a vegetarian curry. The ingredients were fresh, the portions generous, and the presentation appealing. The flavors were good, although the duck's sweet and sour sauce could have been a bit more intense, and the curry could have used a touch more spice. The menu offers a solid selection of Asian classics, from Thai to Chinese, which provides good variety. The service was friendly and welcoming, though a bit slow in places, probably because the restaurant was busy yesterday. The staff were attentive and gave us a warm welcome, even if the wait for drinks and food was a bit longer. The drink selection was okay, but a few more Asian or regional options would have rounded out the experience. The prices are fair and in keeping with Schierke's touristy location without being overpriced. Overall, Asia Haus is a recommended place for a delicious Asian dinner in the Harz Mountains. With a little more finesse in the spices and a bit more responsive service, it would be perfect. We'd love to come back to explore more of the menu!

Very tasty food with friendly and attractive service, great

The food is cheap Chinese food with instant sauce at absolutely overpriced prices. I really can't recommend it to anyone. I'd rather get a frozen pizza from the supermarket next door.

A small but nice hotel with an attached Asian/Chinese restaurant. Very friendly hosts; bringing a dog into the room or restaurant was no problem at all.

The food is very good. Anyone in Schierke should definitely eat there. The portions are large. The price is perfectly reasonable.

Perfect value for money. You can't expect a 5-star hotel for an 85-euro double room; one wardrobe was a bit rickety. But everything was very good. The staff was friendly and helpful. They were happy to accommodate special requests whenever possible. I would gladly return anytime.

I can only review the restaurant. We received prompt and friendly service, the food was delicious and plentiful. We found the price reasonable.

There were 18 of us booked for a buffet meal. However, the buffet looked like this: Four serving platters were placed on a table, from which we could serve ourselves. Obviously, that was far too small. At our request, another platter was brought out, and that was it. In the end, some people didn't even get any meat. Bottom line: not recommended.

We had the buffet and were there with several people. There was too little food and the price wasn't justified.

Great staff, great offer, great service

The two of us stayed at the Asia-Haus-Schierke for a day with an overnight stay. From there we hiked to the Brocken in a super easy way. The rooms and beds are large, very clean and new. We were also thrilled with the dinner. Price/performance top! We felt very comfortable here immediately and throughout our entire stay and would love to come back!

It's all about the food. Bought it to take away and it was subpar. Certainly good in the high season, my spring rolls were frozen and briefly warmed in fat. Rice and main course really bad. Given the low season, this may be understandable, but that cannot be the claim. Staff friendly, but too fast. After four minutes the food was ready to take away. According to the taste. Really terrible.

We had Chinese food in the restaurant today. It's been a long time since I've had such good Chinese food!!! We had 6 treasures and duck. Plus Chinese dry red wine. Both dishes were very tasty. The sauce tasted more like homemade. I didn't even know that. I can actually recommend this restaurant.

Rarely have I eaten such delicious Thai food (in Germany). Clear recommendation. If I'm there again, I'll be happy to come back!

Solid Asian cuisine with fresh ingredients but also lots of glutamate. The waiter was very accommodating but, in our opinion, cleared the empty plates a bit quickly. Can be recommended

Stumbled upon it by chance, really enjoyed it! Also very friendly staff. Unfortunately we are leaving the Harz tomorrow, otherwise we would definitely come back.

A friendly welcome at all times. Clean rooms, good mattresses, plentiful breakfast. There's nothing to complain about about the food, "gluten-free" on request, large portions, tasty, fair price. Hopefully this will be around for a long time, because I always enjoy coming here.

Seit vielen Jahren ist bei jedem Harzbesuch ein Besuch beim Brockenbäcker quasi Pflicht - wenn möglich werden die Radtouren extra durch Schierke geplant. Sehr gute Kuchen, ebenso nettes Personal und faire Preise. Eine ehrliche Handwerksbäckerei, wie es sie inzwischen nur noch viel zu selten gibt. Einziges Manko: nach der Brockentorte fällt das Radeln immer etwas träge aus ;-)

I booked my room at short notice via Booking and it worked well. My room was cozy and renovated there is a kettle, cups and glasses. For me that is completely sufficient. Gladly again.

Das Essen war in Ordnung, das Gemüse frisch und das Hähnchen kross. Die Brühe & die Sauce haben mir nicht Geschmeckt.

Nur Restaurant: wir hatten bestellt. Wantan Suppe ordentlich. Gericht V2 auch in Ordnung. Alle Portionen reichlich. Aber: die Erdnusssauce versalzen ( 195) und auch Gericht 206 total versalzen und auch mit dem Reis nicht zu neutralisieren. Ungenießbar leider. Keine Empfehlung.

Nach einem anstrengenden Wandertag sind wir abends hier eingekehrt und wurden mit einem leckeren Essen belohnt. Der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen stand sehr fix auf dem Tisch. Einen Stern ziehe ich beim Ambiente ab, weil der Tresen vorne etwas überfüllt wirkt mit Deko und Pflanzen, aber das ist ja reine Geschmackssache und das Essen war wirklich lecker und deswegen waren wir ja da.

Ich bewerte das Lokal. Sehr schön eingerichtet. Das Personal war sehr nett. Gute Auswahl auf der Karte. Unser Essen kam zeitnah. Es war toll angerichtet und hat hervorragend geschmeckt. Danach gibt es einen Pflaumenwein auf's Haus. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Wir waren gleich zweimal dort.

Für Schierke ein Wunder, das Essen ist sehr lecker und reichlich, die Besitzer sehr nett und bemüht alles dem Gast recht zu machen, wir sind immer mehrmals hier im Urlaub.

Ich komme hier seit mehr als zehn Jahren auf meinen Wanderungen am Sonntagmorgen zum Frühstück und wurde noch nie enttäuscht. Die belegten Brötchen und auch der Cappuccino sind sehr sehr lecker und ein Highlight auf meinen Wanderwochenden! Macht bitte weiter so, ihr seid ein tolles Team!

So unterschiedlich sind die Meinungen,wir finden die Brockentorte und den Kaffee sehr lecker. Eine Bedienung (ältere Dame) ist sehr freundlich und bemüht,während die andere Dame erstmal ein Schwätzchen hält und einem glatt auch für Bekannte stehen lässt,diese vor nimmt. Die Brötchen haben kaum einen Punkt verdient, sie sind sehr hell und pappig. Trotzdem haben wir es noch einmal gewagt und nicht schlecht gestaunt,was die Brötchen da für eine schöne Farbe hatten und wie knusprig sie wirkten.... das waren welche vom Vortag,die wurden aufgebacken :-((( Hier fehlte der Hinweis,dass es Brötchen vom Vortag sind und es wurde derselbe Preis wie für frische Ware verlangt. So nicht !

waren eben dort nach Wanderung eingekehrt. Bedienung schnippisch gegenüber den Gästen. Brockentorte: undefinierbare Füllung nur nach billigem Fett und Chemie schmeckend. Die schlechteste Torte die ich je für 3.60 € gegessen habe.
