A.R.P. Volksgarten in Bamberg

A very cozy beer garden with plenty of space. They serve good beer, delicious and affordable Portuguese wines, and grilled delicacies (especially recommendable: bacalau, sea bream, and sardines) – all served in a rustic style, fresh, and delicious. We had a wonderful evening here yesterday and will definitely be back.

Nice atmosphere, food was prepared very quickly! The schnitzel was a bit dry, but the fish dishes were excellent. I think the prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly and welcoming! I'll be back!

Here you can find the best fish in the world, right here in Gaustadt. Wow. Hopefully, it'll stay that way for a long time. The surroundings are okay, but what does it matter when the taste is this good, whether you eat it now or, even better, in the beer garden. Don't be alarmed, just give it a try! Especially from the grill in summer! I'm from Gaustadt and I'm here so often in the summer.

Good morning, we have received criticism, of course, some good, some bad, which is understandable!! But people have to understand that many times it takes a while, as is normal because the food is made to order and all fresh!! We try to serve all our customers equally, they are all human beings, whether Portuguese or German, member or not!! Everyone is welcome!! We are very sorry for those who criticize, but to err is human and you can always come back, you will be welcomed like all customers!! My many thanks to everyone and until next time.

A beer garden just the way I like it. The members of the club are dedicated and try very hard to make everything work. If you order too late you have to satisfy your hunger with the delicious baked fish or meat, which are baked golden brown into bite-sized pieces. It can happen that you have to wait 2 hours until your main course is ready. For me and my wife, the Volksgarten is always worth a visit. It's a shame it's summer break now. But at the beginning of September they will open again. Thanks for that. I would be happy to recommend you.

One of the best Biergarten in Bamberg. Open only from Friday to Sunday. A cozy atmosphere, friendly and competent workers, good food and good prices. Totally recommended!

Eating here is an insider tip. Very tasty food and a great beer garden. The fact that the restaurant is run by a Portuguese association makes it stand out from other restaurants and it feels like a short vacation in Portugal 🇵🇹

Been there with the whole family. Ordered food and waited. After an hour we asked and were told it would be coming soon. Asked again half an hour later, yes, it will come straight away. About twenty minutes later we asked again and were told that what we ordered was out. Conclusion: once and never again. We weren't the only frustrated people that day either.

Attention: The A.R.P. Volksgarten is now permanently closed! We just learned from the newspaper that the Volksgarten is now closed and the association that ran it on a voluntary basis is being dissolved. A pity. We will miss the beer garden in Bamberg. The food and the staff were great and you could sit beautifully under the old trees. Conclusion: A beautiful beer garden is now history even after 49 years

Probably the most beautiful and best place to eat delicious fish in Bamberg. The beer garden/inn is run with a lot of heart and passion by the hosts, who are mostly from Portugal. Unique and first-class in Bamberg!
