Aroma in Berlin

Quan aroma is a restaurant with many delicious dishes that I have enjoyed, the fried duck and roast duck are very crispy and delicious, the food here is very rich and diverse, very suitable for many dishes that I like. People knowledgeable about Chinese food describe most of the dishes as quite authentic. The long opening hours such as until 2am are also unusual for places serving Asian cuisine, even in Berlin.

The food in the restaurant is always good but the prices are not cheap either. But what you just delivered to me in the delivery service is an absolute disgrace! Discontinued broth with a little noodle and three pieces of boney duck for 17 euros. Never again !

The restaurant is very authentic. Dishes that come from “real” Chinese cuisine are offered. If you want to try the dim sum (absolutely!!), you should plan a little more time. The ambience is okay, but has become a bit run down over time and with the number of visitors. A reservation is usually not required.

Absolut authentische kantonesische Küche – das sind die besten gebratenen Rindfleischnudeln und Garnelen-Reismehlrollen, die ich in Deutschland gegessen habe. Absolutely pure Chinese Cantonese cuisine, the best dry-fried beef river and shrimp rice roll rolls I have ever eaten in Germany. The restaurant is open until early in the morning which is great for a night owl like me.

I’ve been coming here every years for dim sum since 2016. Always the same dishes but it never gets old and the quality stays the same. For those who says the service is unfriendly, know that some people just have their way of working. As long as they serve me the right food with a correct attitude, I don’t see any problem. I personally would feel uncomfortable if a bunch of over 50 yo men getting overexcited around me. The food here is served quickly and the waiters are friendly enough, that’s more enough for me to enjoy my meal.

I can't recommend it...everything is fine

The food (dim sum) is authentic and tastes just like in Hong Kong / South China, I was very satisfied with the flavour. However, the prices are bit too high for dim sum in my opinion (around 9.50 € for Ha cao or around 6-7 for three steamed rice rolls).

It's absolutely great that you can eat really well there until 2 a.m., a real restaurant, not a fast food restaurant. The selection of food is large and the service is good. Ambience could be a little better, music etc. but all in all highly recommended if you want something to eat late at night.

After getting my drink they left me waiting for food for 40 minutes. After asking multiple times I wanted to leave. They charged me for the meal I never received

Chinese food is extremely wonderful. The waiters are also very friendly, unfortunately it's a bit noisy because the restaurant is crowded, but I appreciate all aspects.

We ordered Wonton noodles and some dim sums. The food is slightly below the average and the service is one of the worst amongst the restaurants that I have been to so far. We asked for a German menu but the waitress was very impatient. When we finished the meal and decided to pay separately with credit cards, the waiter was very impatient as well. We asked nicely if we could divide the payments for some dishes, but the waiter replied impatiently by saying "Just choose the listed dishes that you are going to pay on the receipt!" A very upset experience!

I was hungry in the evening and ordered some beef river. It had wok flavor and was very delicious.

Food is authentic from the Canton/Hong Kong region with dim sum and dinner. I like the turnip cake, fried squid, beef and veggies. Interior is reminiscent of those Hong Kong banquet parlors. One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Berlin

This is an interesting store. It looks kinda tacky from the outside but the food here is sorta authentic. Why sorta? Because its sorta a mix of all the popular Asian cuisines. And since they offer a lot of choice the taste is sorta same-ey because the base sauces are sorta the same. Lots of foreigners eating there too so that's a generally a good sign for a non gentrified authentic experience. Generally tho i did enjoy the experience. Would go here if youre looking for an authentic chinese experience. Tho as I said they offer all kinds of asian stuff.

I don't come here anymore. Hectic and not very friendly service. Food really wasn't great. We had different dishes and tasted almost identical... Sour hot soup was terrible.

I've been eating at this restaurant for over 14 years, with many memories of friends and family there! However, the last time I visited, it was completely different. The food is no longer the same, and it's more expensive. The deep-fried food was particularly bad—the oil tasted old and smelled terrible. The shrimps complete black and full of old oil !. Also the dim sum taste very sweet!!! I even had stomach pain the next day. Since the ownership changed, it's just not like it used to be. I’ll miss this place...

I had dinner there with my boyfriend yesterday, we both had extreme stomach pains afterwards and today we're just sitting on the toilet. When the food came, the meat smelled so bad that we didn't even eat much of it. Just terrible please people spend your money somewhere else we paid €55 for food that didn't even taste good. We told the waitress that something was wrong with the meat and then suddenly she couldn't speak German anymore. First and last time!

Returned after six years, and the quality of food is still the same. Really love the dim sum and the salt and pepper tofu was delicious. The beef ho fun was a bit too greasy so I couldn’t eat too much of it but it’s usually known to be greasy.

I visit this restaurant regularly. But today I found a string-like object in the dim sum I ordered and reported the problem to a staff member. However, the employee reacted as if it wasn't her problem and behaved extremely rudely. I would have settled for a sincere apology and eaten the new dim sum. Instead, the employee sarcastically asked if he should get on his knees. I was really speechless and very angry about this employee's unfriendly behavior. Even as I write this review, many people will still visit this excellent restaurant. Nevertheless, I think that such an employee has no place in such a good restaurant.

I've been a regular since it opened, unfortunately there seems to have been a change of operator a few months ago. In addition to dim sum, we ordered a few beers and three main courses. The beer was warm, which the waiter knew, but it was still served and charged in full The three main courses were all poor: Instead of grilled pork belly, pork fillet was delivered, which was complained about, but was only taken back after a pointless discussion. The second dish was water spinach, which was served completely unseasoned. We were informed that there are now different varieties of water spinach, which, however, are incorrectly translated (according to the waiter): Instead of water spinach with fermented tofu, only fermented tofu is on the menu. Completely incomprehensible. There was then a hair in the third dish. The service manager discussed the water spinach for a long time before finally rudely taking the main courses off the bill. Additionally, the service manager touched our three-month-old baby without asking, which is inappropriate. The disabled toilet is used as a storage room and is therefore unusable. This was my last visit to Aroma, having left well over €10,000 there over the last few decades. I will also share my experience with my friends.

What is the restaurant 30 minutes away and none was there for us, we prefer to eat somewhere else.

After singing, I still want to eat the God of Wealth. My favorites are salt and pepper duck tongue, salt and pepper pork ribs, and Kyoto fried large intestine.

Very nice waiters and delicious food

Coming from Vancouver, the food here reminded me very much of the typical offerings we are used to seeing. I came for dinner, and everything we had was delicious. Will need to come back for the dim sum soon!

Aroma is the place to go for a late night bite, the place to be hungover and eat directly when they open, the “what should we have for dinner I don’t want to pick” answer, it’s 2 a.m and you’re drunk dinner solution- it’s the best. You cannot do wrong. From dim-sum to veggies to mains to soups, explore as much as you want- you cannot do wrong. 10292728 out of 10.

Arriving to dine alone I was quickly shown to a table and was given a menu. After a few minutes a server took my order of a drink and a main course. I then waited 40 minutes for my food. At one point I was asked to confirm my order but no explanation for the wait was given. At the 40 minute mark I signaled to the waiter who just said from a distance "it's coming" and then went and got my food. Keep in mind at least one table who arrived after me got food in this time. When the food arrived I asked if it was normal that it took 40 minutes and was told "the kitchen is really busy". Looking around the restaurant I estimate it was less than half full, the server noticing me looking to see how full the place was said "there are a lot of takeout orders". Obviously I don't know if that was true. The food itself was average for Chinese food. The cost was low but the slow service and no attempt to help for a longer than expected wait was disappointing. I wouldn't go here again.

Best Chinese restaurant in Berlin!

I wasn't impressed, everything was very greasy. Yesterday was a second attempt: the restaurant was empty but we had to wait forever for the waiter three times.

Best Chinese I’ve had in a while and definitely best meal in Berlin! Glad we tried it :) Service was understandably a bit slow as the restaurant was quite busy, but everyone was super kind and do their best to overcome the language barrier as we unfortunately can’t speak German. Also, it would be good to put a tap on the little chilli oil pots on the table, just for general hygiene. Only thing I was not sure about regarding what I ate was the fried duck: good, but a little bit overcooked. Do order the soups if you go there: the broth is just sensational!! We’ll definitely visit again next time we’ll be in Berlin :)

I would like to write a short review about a wonderful service employee in the restaurant. She was incredibly friendly and accommodating. From the moment I entered the restaurant I was warmly greeted. Their service was outstanding throughout my entire visit. She was attentive and always made sure I felt comfortable. Thank you for the great service! Employees like this are a real treasure.

How can the boss sleep while this kind of product is still open😭😭😭The skin of the shrimp dumplings is steamed into a ball and the stir-fried beef river noodles are as thick as crispy roasted pork skin...I haven't eaten them anywhere. After living in such a bad Berlin, I really want to thank you for letting me have a terrible first meal here.

Very Cantonese style decoration! The style is like the scene when Li Xiaojun got married in Sweet Honey! The taste is very Cantonese! Flying from Barcelona you won’t be disappointed!

Update 06/2024: I gave the flavor another chance and I'm glad I did. The food is very good again and some old dishes are back on the menu. Many of the new dishes are extremely good! We're coming back now :) Update 03/2024: Unfortunately, after the change of operator, a lot of good dishes were removed from the menu and changed. Unfortunately so much that we won't be coming back. After more than 15 years, it's unfortunately over. The staff is still great and very friendly! Very good! My favorite place for years! :D Recommended: D15 (chicken feet), 3 (wonton soup), 52 (Hong Kong duck). The staff is very friendly and accommodating, even special requests are always fulfilled. We feel very comfortable there and come regularly.

I have been visiting this place since 2020 and was once very delighted to have a place in Berlin for Dim Sum. However, it comes to my great disappointment in the recent visits in May 2024 as well as yesterday. The Dim Sum was badly made now, maybe the 蝦餃/腸粉 is still edible but are also way overpriced. Other Dim Sum including 鮮竹牛肉 the meat was so dry. 鳳爪way too salty. Even before its owner changed to Ming recently, the 咸水角was overdone even deep fried. 晚飯小菜were also badly done. Even the 白飯 let alone not using Jasmine rice, within a bowl you can find some part super wet while other parts so dry that you can hardly chew. Many disappointments cannot be listed all out here. I have impression that they don't care about the taste of the food so much more (I am not even demanding for authenticity). It is not the first time I heard the service was not good and it was again validated by the request of payment was acknowledged but deliberately ignored by multiple of staff wearing poker faces. Overall, their price increased but food quality decreased and I feel regret to have brought my friends there to try indeed.

Eating escalation at 2:30 a.m., no problem at all. The colleagues were so nice and let us all eat in peace. The dude next to us at the table took a nap for a good half hour before he was sent home. Place has gone down hill and the prices have gone up, food had no flavour ingredients of low quality beer was flat and warm and way overpriced even if it was good Chinese food.

I was very disappointed with my experience at AROMA on Sunday 5.5.2024 I order the Beef/Noddle soup for 13,50€. There was a piece of hard plastic in my Beef/Noddle Soup, which I nearly swallowed. I went directly to the waiter and informed him. He left me waiting 15mins. then he came back without a glass of water. No apologies,nothing! That is no way to treat customers. I have informed the Berlin Health Agency.

It’s very delicious. The rice dumplings from Italy were so delicious that I was moved to tears. Highly recommended. The service is also very good and very affordable.
