Aroma in Berlin

We picked something out in the evening and found the shop. He gave us a friendly smile. We came in and asked at the table and got one straight away. We didn't get the menu. I think the menu is a bit too spread out but it's not that bad. We ordered a coconut water with pieces which I highly recommend. We also ordered other food. Everything came out pretty quickly. Good schnapps, we are both pretty satisfied apart from the fact that our starter had a bit too many bones but otherwise I'd say it was perfect.

Since the new owner, the food has unfortunately lost its flavor. The portions are smaller, but also more expensive. Anyone who remembered Aroma back then knows that the food is no longer good. Unfortunately, the owner has ruined the reputation.

We were there at 1:30 am, it was super nice, super personal and a good meal at a reasonable price. We are actually Swabians and only in Berlin for a short business trip.

There's nothing really special about this restaurant; I'd describe it as an average Chinese restaurant. I just think it's a shame they don't offer rose liquor, as that was one of the reasons my friends and I came here.

The food is ok. I had the duck rolls and radish cake. The duck was not crispy(Rather greasy).

Super classic Chinese restaurant like you would find in the 90s. The interior reminds me of my childhood. I love it because in these modern times with a uniform look, I sometimes miss this kind of interior design. No matter what time of day I visited the restaurant or how many people were there, the service was always quick to find me an available table. After ordering, the food arrived within 10 minutes. Hot and, above all, incredibly DELICIOUS. I love the aroma and will keep coming back. Above all, you can find a lot of authentic Chinese cuisine here. You must try the steamed chicken feet in black bean paste or the F4 grilled pork belly. Big love and compliments to the restaurant, which I still consider an insider tip. Also because you always see a lot of Asian people here. Which, for me as a European, is a good sign of good food.

Disappointing food – unfortunately inedible We ordered several dishes here last night via Uber Eats and were very disappointed overall. The noodle soup with grilled duck was simply disgusting. The meat was very thickly sliced, unappetizing in appearance, and had an extremely rancid smell and taste. It was absolutely inedible; we had to throw the entire dish away. The steamed dumplings were okay, as were the stuffed dumplings with shrimp and pork – but nothing special. The flat rice noodles with beef were edible, but the dish was very greasy, and after the bad experience with the duck, I decided to skip the meat. Overall, a huge disappointment. It was definitely our last time.

EXTREMELY rude waiters. Waiters who think they know better than the customers. The waiters not only interfere in our meal by leaving snarky comments, they treated us with 0 respect. As a cantonese myself, excited for late night dim sum, was ultimately met with disrespect. Food was meh, you can tell its all frozen. Xiao long bao skin sticks to the steamer and klebreis is mishy like mashed potatoes. Avoid unless no options. Price was not bad

I used to eat at Aroma a lot when I was younger. As I walked past, my friends and I had the idea of ​​reliving those days. We received a warm welcome and were shown a nice table. We used to go to Aroma often. Today is our first time under the new management. The positives first: 👍The new staff were extremely friendly and polite to us and always kept an eye on all the tables. 👍The dishes arrived at our table correctly and promptly. 👍The drinks were cold and sparkling (not stale). The dishes tasted okay. Now for the unfortunately unpleasant negative: 👎The prices have increased slightly, but the dishes have become significantly smaller and, in our opinion, the quality/taste has deteriorated somewhat. (The duck, for example, was very, very dry and the vegetables underneath were barely present.) With the new prices, this is unfortunately not acceptable. 👍We also shared our opinion with the friendly waiter, who discreetly accepted the criticism and wanted to pass it on to the kitchen, which in turn had a very positive effect on us. The farewell was also very friendly and polite. We'll wait a while and maybe give this restaurant another chance at a later date.

A culinary gem in the neighborhood! This unassuming Chinese restaurant, tucked away among other shops, completely blew me away with its outstanding cuisine. The roast duck is simply sensational – crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and full of flavor. The rice was also perfectly prepared. An absolute insider tip for anyone who wants to enjoy truly authentic and delicious Chinese dishes. I will definitely be back! Also ideal for group dining!

The food was good, but tasted better back then. The older waiters were very unfriendly and seemed like they didn't want any customers. The younger waiters, however, were very friendly and funny.

It was sad for a bad dinner at China Restaurant Aroma - The restaurant was crowded, the weather was hot, although there was air conditioning, I don't know why the machine didn't work, making it impossible for customers like me and my family to eat because the atmosphere in the restaurant was hot and stuffy. - In addition, all the food ordered was salty, from Roasted Duck to Wonton. As for Wonton, the broth was clear and tasteless, salty and bitter, the only thing I felt when eating was salt and MSG, which was the main ingredient in the Wonton bowl that I first encountered at this restaurant in Berlin. - The staff serving customers were unprofessional, treating customers with respect for "Westerners" and looking down on "Vietnamese". - When paying, the restaurant gave me a 10% discount, I don't know why? Maybe it was a new customer, or the restaurant knew the food was not good, so they reduced it to make it less frustrating. In conclusion, with what I experienced tonight, I can only rate everything at the lowest level.

We ate here for dinner today, and the experience was anything but pleasant. We ordered a duck dish, barely touched it, and then we weren't ready to eat any more. It was so salty it was almost inedible—simply awful. When our wonton noodles arrived, we weren't impressed. The broth tasted only of MSG and water, and the noodles and wonton were, once again, way too salty. The waiters seemed rather staid and didn't exude hospitality. There was no authenticity and no friendly welcome. Not recommended.

I used to go to Aroma literally every week – it was one of my absolute favorite restaurants. The food was always incredibly delicious, the portions generous, and the taste simply special. I loved it! Unfortunately, a lot has changed since the change of ownership or concept. The menu has been redesigned, and many dishes I used to enjoy are no longer there – and the taste isn't quite the same as it used to be. The portions have gotten smaller, and sometimes that certain something is missing. Nevertheless, I still enjoy coming here because Aroma is associated with many fond memories for me – but I honestly miss the taste and feeling of those days.

I really like the food here. It tastes very authentic, as far as I can tell. And the service is very friendly. Card payments are also accepted.

A great place with delicious food. Service is friendly and quick, and even when it's full, you can quickly find a seat. On a warm day, it can be a bit stuffy inside, but there's a large patio. The portions are generous, so for three people, it's best to order three appetizers and two main courses, as they're huge. We highly recommend it; everything was delicious.

The flavor of the food has diminished somewhat and no longer seems quite as fresh as it used to, but the difference isn't significant. The friendly service, however, makes up for it – overall, it's still highly recommended.

The dim sum is delicious, and the location is reminiscent of a traditional design. Unfortunately, the staff aren't the most polite. It's okay.

Without a reservation, we, "five friends" 😉that's right, were given a shady spot outside, which is unfortunately located on the noisy main road. The interior is also now spacious after the expansion. The service staff was extremely attentive, polite, and patient, as we took our time choosing something from the extensive menu. We waited about 25 minutes for our food, which indicates that everything was freshly prepared. The quality was correspondingly good. Unfortunately, there are two minor drawbacks: The 0.4l Radler we ordered, which was poured on tap, wasn't well chilled, and the second one wasn't any better. The same applies to the bottled drinks we ordered. Some follow-up orders were simply forgotten. This urgently needs to be improved. Nevertheless, this place is and remains recommended – not cheap, but reasonably priced. The parking situation is simply catastrophic. However, the "Aroma" is very easily accessible by public transport.

Quick service and really interesting dishes never tried before, along with the asian classics, all of which were very delicious and tasty. Baked radish and “chicken fingers” were the discovery for me, along with fantastic variety of dimsums and nice wine. Will happily return!

Had to try one of the legends in Berlin. Taste-wise pretty much authentic. We had to wait for around 15-25 minutes until all the dishes came out, but instead we received the semi- cold food.

Delicious, authentic, and cozy. From various dumplings and chicken feet to Chinese pizza and classic rice/noodle dishes, there's a wide selection here. I also really enjoyed the non-alcoholic cocktails! However, I've had better quality food for less money...hence one star deducted. And you have to wait for a table, especially in the evenings.

Last night our friends from Berlin invited us to their restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary. As my friends have been regular customers for years, we were looking forward to the visit, especially since they hadn't been back for a while because they were unhappy. However, we visited again 4 weeks ago and everything was fine, so we were invited. A table had been reserved in advance, preferably by the window, which was promised to us by a friendly lady on the phone. However, when we arrived the waiter tried to seat us in some corner, which we didn't like but didn't succeed. As for ordering, my friends ordered a dish that they have been eating here since their first visit at least 20 years ago: Wan soup with shrimp, followed by beef with onions. My wife and I also ate 2 soups and 2 chicken dishes. The soups arrived relatively quickly but were unfortunately only lukewarm. After 3-4 minutes our chicken dishes arrived, but we were only half eaten and the soup was cleared away without being asked. The waiter explained the spiciness of the chili in one of the dishes, which we didn't quite understand. Our hosts' main courses were missing. After about 5 minutes, the waiter came and claimed that they had replaced the beef with chicken (a glance at the menu revealed that this dish doesn't even exist with chicken). After another 5 minutes, we had already started eating, the supposed main courses arrived: beef in some kind of sauce with peppers, carrots, and a handful of half-raw fried onions on top. Our host said that this wasn't the dish he ordered; the waiter explained that it was a new menu and a new kitchen. The rice was already cold and was only brought out again upon request, but only 2 portions for 4 people. The whole thing was served in a very unfriendly and listless manner. Upon looking at the menu again, it became clear that there is a dish of beef with vegetables, which is also available in a chicken version, as the waiter correctly pointed out, but it wasn't the dish we ordered. Onions were simply fried with the wrong dish, but to simply claim that this is the dish we ordered is simply cheeky. In addition, my wife's chicken dish was also incorrect, which also explained the explanation of the chili. Conclusion: Simply rude Unfriendly, arrogant service Actually, the menu is quite well-structured with letters, but bringing out three incorrect dishes out of four is more than questionable for some of their waiters. One idea would be for some of their waiters to play less on their cell phones and limit personal conversations, but simply work a little more concentrated. However, we find it much worse that we are blatantly lied to. The service was abysmal, no time, no rice, no word of apology, nothing, absolutely nothing. We get the impression that Aroma is increasingly becoming one of the tourist restaurants a la Berlin Mitte, at least that was the impression of our host, who lives in Berlin and, to add insult to injury, also had to pay the bill for an evening that was more than annoying. For me and my friend, it is clear that there will be no further visits to Aroma. Furthermore, my boyfriend has always been able to recommend their restaurant without reservation to his friends and acquaintances. After this visit, he certainly won't be returning.

Aroma is a down-to-earth, traditional-looking Chinese restaurant. In addition to classic Chinese dishes that we know, there are a few interesting dishes that are considered exotic in this country. For example, chicken feet, jellyfish and fried pork intestines. A good opportunity for brave people to try something new, but even those who are not so brave will definitely find what they are looking for. The rice balls are highly recommended for dessert!

For many years, Aroma on Kantstrasse was the restaurant for special occasions for my family and me - whether Christmas, birthdays or simply a nice meal. We went there regularly and were never disappointed. The dishes were delicious and authentically prepared, especially the chicken feet. Unfortunately, that changed with the change of ownership. The dishes that used to be our absolute favorites now taste completely different - and unfortunately no longer like what we once appreciated. The quality and taste have deteriorated significantly, which is a shame. For this reason we have decided with a heavy heart not to come back.

Were there at lunchtime, few guests in the shop. We waited a long time for the card and then another very long time until our order was taken. I was a bit overwhelmed by the huge selection of dishes, tofu dishes were listed under seafood, which is why I couldn't find them at first. My choice didn't convince me in terms of taste either.

A typical chinese restaurant with all the armosphere elements you would expect. The food was amazing as well as the service. The place was packed but the food came really fast.

Food was good but we felt we were taken advantage of, over charged for food when communication was clear and the order had a very clear mistake. nobody checked and we had to pay for the double amount of food.

Instead I got two completely different dishes. When I asked the waiter about it, I was told that I had probably made a mistake. Yes, it wasn't him, it was me who made a mistake. Well, if he says so! But don't worry, the incorrectly delivered dishes were not cleared away. No, I was advised to just eat them – “they taste good too”. It's nice that you don't have to be picky here! Particularly charming: at the end, the dishes were of course also immortalized on the bill. The yeast rolls were still there - but an excuse? That would really have been too much of a good thing. Conclusion: If you like to order surprise menus without knowing and find it exciting to be surprised at the bill at the end, this is the place for you. It's a pity. From the shop windows on the street, you could see the restaurant was busy, cheerful, eager to go in, which is what we did. The service treats you as if they were doing you a favour, feeding you. Food that you pay for afterwards. They ask you if you need cash or a card, and their faces change when you take out the card. Disgust in their eyes. Everything you order, they bring it to you immediately and in just a few minutes, you have everything on the table... I don't know how, in five or three minutes, they cook all the dishes.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to have good chinese food. The Dumplings were delicious and I also had the wonton soup. The broth was one the best I've had. From the food, service to ambience, everything was good.

Berlin without aroma is not Berlin

this is where I go when the cantonese food craving hits. Quality depends on the day but it always hits the spot. dim sum quality is good. Prices are reasonable. Had a great lunch there the other day. Roast meats were juicy and flavorful. Never not ordering the char siu cheong fun!
