I recently had the pleasure of visiting Armbrusters Lieblingsplatz, and it was an experience I won’t soon forget. The moment I arrived, I was struck by the charming riverside setting along the Rhine. The calm flow of the river, combined with the lush greenery and the cozy architecture of the café, instantly made me feel relaxed and welcomed. It’s one of those places where you can pause, take a deep breath, and truly appreciate the moment. Since it was my first German breakfast, I wanted to immerse myself fully in the local experience. I ordered a coffee and the Käsesteller Vegetarisch, and it exceeded all my expectations. The coffee was rich, warm, and aromatic — exactly the comforting cup you want to start a morning with. The Käsesteller was beautifully arranged with a variety of fresh cheeses, perfectly complemented by fresh bread, fruits, and small accompaniments. It wasn’t just a meal; it felt like a carefully crafted introduction to German breakfast culture, and sitting by the Rhine while enjoying it made the experience truly special. After breakfast, I spent some time exploring the small Rhinlädele shop right next door. The shop had a wonderful selection of regional specialties, including organic products and handmade local treats. It felt like stepping into a treasure chest of local flavors, and I enjoyed browsing through the unique items. Picking out a small treat to take home made the visit feel even more personal and memorable. The overall atmosphere of Armbrusters Lieblingsplatz is hard to describe — it’s both lively and serene at the same time. Whether you are enjoying a quiet moment by the river, catching up with friends over coffee, or exploring the culinary delights of the café, it has a way of making you feel both relaxed and inspired. Every detail, from the décor to the presentation of the food, shows a commitment to quality and a love for hospitality. For anyone visiting the area, whether you’re a local or a traveler passing by, this café offers more than just a meal — it offers an experience. The fact that the advertised chocolate sprinkles were missing from the Black Forest cup is something I can live with. But unfortunately, the cherries were also forgotten. When I asked, the lady behind the counter said it was her colleague. But that wasn't true, because she had fixed it. After another two minutes, she silently placed a bowl with a few cherries in front of me. I certainly don't need to put up with that again.

The salads and cakes are excellent, and the location is pleasant. However, the real downside to this bakery/restaurant remains the attitude of one of the waitresses at the counter. On several occasions, the welcome was less than warm, but today the experience was particularly unpleasant. She clearly only speaks German, asks her questions in that language, and seems annoyed when we don't understand, even sighing and then calling a colleague with a strange gesture like, "Look at what they want, I can't take it anymore." I want to tell you with this comment: change careers if service isn't for you.

The place is beautiful, but the staff is unfortunately extremely unprofessional and unfriendly. They urgently need training in polite behavior. We are not animals, but human beings. If I had been someone else, there would certainly have been an argument. Fortunately, I didn't have to. However, I firmly believe that the staff should live up to the quality of this beautiful place. It's a real shame. Unfortunately, this isn't my first experience with unfriendly behavior there.

After I waited forever to order, I was simply sent away with the instruction that I should order somewhere else, where a longer line had formed. Since it's self-service, there's not much to say about the service, except for the very nice lady who cleaned up, who was extremely friendly. The food is good and highly recommended. We'll be back again.

The german personnel is very correct, they are very hardworkers and very strict in their job. When they say yes it remains yes and when they say no it remains no. They are absolutely not bad with costumers or with people, but they are serious during their work and very open mind and respectful to anyone who shows respect toward them.

Their Black Forest is the best I have ever tasted in a tea room. The rest is level. And if you have a view of the Rhine, it's the total. To do and redo. I recommend.

Stopped there for coffee and cake. Was very tasty. You had to get the food and drink, which is OK. Staff very friendly. Premises clean. If you need to go to the toilet, take the elevator to the 3rd floor. It was very clean, there just wasn't anything to dry your hands with. Recommended.

worked so hard in this restaurant but I had to quit for the personnal reasons, when I required to start working again it was not possible even that I was told that I can start whenever I want, I was forgoten so fast from them beacuse thé team was completed. Disapointed with them, but Im proud that I work honestly and very very hard. Its obvious that we are living in a time where the people who works hard are abandoned always and the ones who works like snakes only to show their presence at work and get a salary are more privileged.

It's like being on a roller coaster. A constant up and down. Standing in a queue and still being overtaken. The staff is confused and disorganized. Self-service and surcharge if consumed in the restaurant. This would perhaps be justified if the tables were clean. The food is expensive but very good and plentiful. However, a salad with olives should contain more than four olives. Blackcurrant spritzer for four euros measured at the calibration line. Unfortunately, the restaurant cannot be recommended for Sunday lunchtime. If you have three Berliners, there is an additional charge of one euro per Berliner in the restaurant.

Went to the café today with my favorite person. The raspberry cake tastes so delicious and fruity 🤤😋. You can also have breakfast or lunch there. The terrace is open in summer. With service it would be perfect. Unfortunately there is only self-service there. Oh yes, we bought another elf there 🥰

Great location, but unfortunately there is a lot of potential here that is not being used. There is even confusion when it comes to service, as there is a lack of a clear structure on how to serve customers. The food is quite ok and tastes good too. Cleanliness in the café itself (tables are sticky and full of crumbs) and in the toilet leave a lot to be desired. (Unfortunately it has always been like this)

2nd visit and despite the place and the pleasant atmosphere I can ONLY remember the deplorable service of the ladies at the service, mainly the German ladies who are totally disdainful enough to run away from it. They make us (the French neighbors) CLEARLY understand that we are not welcome and that they do not wish to welcome us. However, some other members of the staff are super nice but everyone will know which one is in question. For that alone, I certainly wouldn't come back as it's not cheap either in terms of prices.

Very often we stop at the LIEBLINGSPLATZ. This Wednesday, Valentine's Day, we had lunch there. First of all, CONGRATULATIONS to the Chef and his TEAM, our dishes were excellent. Then, CONGRATULATIONS to Madame BAKAR, who with great care ensured the cleanliness of the tables. It’s super important. This is not always the case!

You could eat well and relatively cheaply! Service was very nice and quick!

Five of us were invited for breakfast on Tuesday. Despite Self-service a great selection but very expensive without service. We were still satisfied. However, what broke the camel's back was the mushy, unfriendly service. Since I didn't queue at the cake counter, even though we only wanted food and drink, we were harshly asked to stand behind the queue for the cake. An older gentleman in front of us wanted to pay at the counter and held out the banknote to the lady, whereupon he was greeted energetically and harshly with "lie down, you've never heard of hygiene before." I've never experienced anything so unfriendly. This service is not worth our turnover of 150.--.

Very pretty place, but VERY UNPLEASANT welcome. We often go there to walk. Then a break is necessary. I wanted to enjoy a pre-cut slice of Black Forest, and it was the last slice on the tray. The saleswoman, the tall brunette in her sixties, thinking that my wife wanted it too, cut this part normally dedicated to one person, in two. Result: we paid half a share for the price of one share. PS: we came back some time later to see the real size of a slice, and we had indeed been served half a slice.

Wir kommen sehr oft. Dieses Mal war mein Essen nicht in Ordnung. Habe anstandslos ein neues bekommen. Kann ja mal passieren. War noch nie der Fall. Kann es nur weiter empfehlen.

Ein an einem schönen Platz gelegenes Lokal, in dem wir des öfteren zum Frühstück sind, das reichlich und schön fürs Auge angerichtet ist. Leider lässt die Servicekraft hinter der Verkaufstheke sehr zu wünschen übrig, da immer sehr mürrisch. Im Service sollte man doch eine gewisse Freundlichkeit an den Tag legen.

Schön gelegen am Rhein. Am Sonntagmorgen waren wir gegen 09:00 zum Frühstücken dort, der Andrang hielt sich in Grenzen und wir wurden nach kurzem Anstehen von einer sehr freundlichen Dame bedient. Da wäre vielleicht der einzige Kritikpunkt, nicht allen hinter der Theke fällt ein freundliches Gesicht leicht. Wir bestellten 2 sehr ansprechend belegte Brötchen mit Lachs und Schinken aus der Auslage, bestellten das Rühreier dazu, einen Kaffee und einen Cappuccino. Platz hatten wir auf dem Balkon mit schönen Blick auf das Geschehen auf dem Rhein. Alles zusammen sehr nett und gut. Machen wir sicher wieder!! Preise fanden wir fair.

Es geht hier um die oft sehr schlechte Brot und Brötchenqualität diverser Anbieter in der Ortenau. Das meiste Brot, was angeboten wird, hat eine 1 Tag Qualität. Die Brötchen 1 Stunde… Danach vertrocknet das Brot oder Brötchen zusehends, der Geschmack bleibt fad. Es ist kein echtes Mehl, weder Hefe noch Sauerteig sind zu schmecken, es fehlt auch oft Salz und etwas Brotgewürz. Keine Kruste, keine Krume, Farbe des Brotes ist immer blaßweißlich, genau wie der Geschmack - schade!! Ich habe von allen hiesigen Bäckern mehr als 20 Brote oder Brötchen gekauft…und nach 2 Tagen entsorgt- Fazit: ungenießbar! Habe selbst über 1000 Brote gebacken, niemals kam so ein ungenießbares Produkt heraus. Es wäre schön, wenn die Bäcker ihr Handwerk wieder ernst nehmen würden und dem Brot das richtige Mehl und eine längere Gärzeit geben würden!!

Waren jetzt schon oft dort Mittagessen und es ist hervorragend. Preis super.

Probablement ma pire expérience professionnelle dans ce restaurant. Entre les hurlements et dénigrements de la gérante, l’humiliation constante subie durant une semaine « d’adaptation », et les messes basses du personnel (oui ils parlent entre eux et disent toutes sortes de choses horribles sur les nouveaux employés alors qu’ils sont à côté), bosser au McDo est largement moins terrible! C’est juste un comble. Si des jeunes français cherchent à travailler, par pitié fuyez cet endroit dépourvu de patience, de tolérance et tout simplement, d’éthique professionnelle. Vraiment monstrueux.

Der Empfang des Personals ist sehr nett, vor allem die junge farbige Frau, die außergewöhnlich freundlich ist. Die Mahlzeiten sind warm und der Preis ist viel niedriger als auf der anderen Seite der Grenze. Die Zeitschaltuhr, die klingelt, wenn das Essen fertig ist, ist super. Ich würde es auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen, da man auch Desserts essen und Zigaretten im Tabakladen nebenan kaufen kann. Es gibt auch schöne Wanderungen entlang des Rheins oder in den nahegelegenen Wäldern. Wenn Sie in der Nähe von Kiesgruben sind, sollten Sie aufpassen, da Sie dort nackte Menschen treffen, die für Kinder unangenehm sein könnten.

Das wird defintiv auch ein Lieblingsplatz von mir! Tolles Ambiente, total entspannte, "chillige" Atmosphäre. Großzügige Räumlichkeit mit bequemen, stilvollen Loungemöbeln, leise Loungemusik, man kann herrlich entspannen und abschalten. Dazu eine gigantische Kuchen- und Tortenauswahl! Torten probiert: SEHR gut. Und man kann auch kleine Gerichte dort essen.

Ich gehe dort sehr gerne mit meiner Familie essen. Das Personal ist meistens freundlich und das Ambiente ist auch sehr schön. Leider muss ich einen Stern abziehen. Einerseits weil man eine halbe Weltreise zur Toilette machen muss aber vorallem weil auf der karte steht das man an der Theke nach einem Ordner mit den Allergenen fragen kann. Dieser existiert aber anscheinend nicht. Und die Mitarbeiter konnten auch nicht wirklich weiterhelfen. Ich würde mir wünschen das die Allergene einfach direkt bei dem Gericht dabei stehen.

Sehr schön am Rhein sitzen und Kaffee genießen 😀
