Unfortunately, I didn't like the schnitzel at all, as it seemed like it came straight from the freezer. There were also very few fries. On the plus side, my husband's delicious skewer dish and the really nice owner and his little daughter were great. That's why I'm giving it 3 stars. I won't be ordering schnitzel there again, though.

No, a renovation is definitely necessary, toilet is dirty, previous renovation was amateurish, rather dingy pub, food was not bad but also nothing special

The food was very good, not as big a portion as you would normally expect from a Greek restaurant, but perfectly sufficient for us.

Since I was just visiting the area and was craving something good and hearty, I ended up at the Apollo. A star for anyone who's curious. Try it yourself 😁

I don't know when the last time I ate so badly was. The salad was okay, the gyro was hard in places and undercooked in others, and had a really weird taste (like it had been refrigerated). It was truly inedible. We (two people) made that very clear to each other, and the manager took the plates back to the kitchen without comment. No apology, no offer to bring something new/different... Despite our objections, we had to pay the full price, and the man was even rude 😔 Never again.... I won't write anything about the wait times here, because if the food tastes good, I'm happy to wait for more than an hour in a nearly empty restaurant.

We waited over an hour for our food, even though there were only a few customers. The gyro was inedible, tough, and partly raw, and unseasoned. We sent it back. No apology, no offer of a new portion or any other replacement, but they demanded full price. Outrageous. Never again.

We were there for dinner and had a Naoussa plate and an Apollo skewer. Everything was very tasty and the portions were generous. The grilled liver was particularly good. The meat was very tender and lean. The tzatziki was also very good. The waitress (owner) was very friendly and communicative. We sat outside, but it looked very cozy inside too. The restrooms weren't new, but they were very clean! Overall, good value for money with a friendly Greek atmosphere. We'll definitely be back soon to try the homemade pastitio. I ate the souvlaki here, filled with cheese. Very very tasty. Absolute recommendation to eat here. The man behind the counter is also very nice. Small cozy shop. When the weather is good you can also enjoy your meal outside.

We were out and about and stopped here spontaneously. Super nice boss and everyone else too. Food is super delicious 😋 And this tzatziki mmmmhhhhh is awesome. Definitely coming back at the next opportunity

I can't fully understand the bad reviews from others. Four of us went there for dinner on Friday evening. Several tables next to us were already occupied, but the drinks order and then the food order went quickly. We didn't have to wait long for our drinks. Don't forget that there is only one person in the kitchen and everything is freshly prepared - so there was a reasonable wait! All dishes were hot, sufficient and very, very tasty! Even a delicious dessert was good and the coffee quzo was great. The ambience is a little old, but small decorative elements try to create a cozy atmosphere and everything was clean! I was able to find out a little about 'the background' of the operators... keep it up, hang in there and thank you for the delicious evening with you!

Wir lieben dieses Restaurant. Hat alles was es braucht. Leckeres Essen, Aussengastro und ein sehr gastfreundliches Team.

Inconspicuous restaurant which is located a bit away from the center, but is within walking distance. Anyone who enters the restaurant feels like they are in an older restaurant. The furniture and the counter area appear “outdated”, but still functional. The owner, in persona also the “waiter”, takes things “calmly”. Bringing a little time may be annoying at first, but it also slows you down and brings you to what should be part of a meal. Eat your meal with peace and enjoyment. The menu fits the concept, why change something when it's still good. There is something for everyone, whether big or small, for the meat eater as well as the vegetarian. The prices are reasonable, considering that you are in a health resort and close to the salt pans. The dishes are acceptable in terms of size, preparation and taste. Note: We had a lot of basil powder on the edge of the plate for decoration. This is very “flavorful”. If you don't like that, you should take that into account when ordering. Table reservations are possible online but are not absolutely necessary.

Seldom eaten so badly. The gyro was no longer recognizable as a gyro. The only warm thing was the casserole dish and the food was cold. The ouzo plate didn't really inspire confidence and was also cold. The red wine turned into white wine on the way to the table. All in all, it was an experience that you don't need again.

Never had such a miserable meal before. The boss serves grumpily, disinterestedly, very slowly and overwhelmed - because he is preparing the food in the kitchen or serving ouzo to a larger group. Dishes Mousaka: old potatoes, large portion, covered with a brown sauce😢 Please check the invoice, unfortunately I didn't receive an invoice because I paid in cash. Small but nice, and so delicious 😋..... breaded chicken schnitzel with Mushroom cream sauce and chicken breast with garlic cream sauce, highly recommended... Thank you and a little chat with the landlord is always interesting. 😉😊

The food is really good! The service...a bit difficult because the boss is all alone, so sometimes you have to be patient! The atmosphere is very dated, a renovation would do the Apollo a lot of good!

All of our food was really delicious and I have rarely eaten such a juicy Suflaki skewer. Nice service and great food, what more could you want :)

The ambience wasn't Greek enough for a Greek, but okay, the food was okay, but not great either. The portion sizes weren't that filling. The landlord was nice but the waiting times were really extreme! We were only able to order after about 20 minutes and the food only arrived after another 70 minutes - so that's really not possible. The restaurant felt empty (4 other people besides us 7!). We also ordered the same dish 5 times and 2 other dishes. How long should you wait when the restaurant is full?????

Very very tasty. We each had the grilled pepperoni, the one, I think it was called the Pella plate(76), Finally, halva with vanilla ice cream and yogurt with honey. Small and cozy. The toilet is a bit old-fashioned, but still very clean.

We are very happy that we were able to celebrate our little one's first birthday with you. The entire restaurant was reserved just for us, which we were allowed to decorate according to our wishes. The entire process (planning, preparations, service...) went smoothly and to everyone's satisfaction. The atmosphere was cozy, and the gyros and souvlaki, which were prepared with fresh ingredients, were particularly recommended. Definitely a place that you would like to recommend and visit again and again.

Sehr ruhig, da wir die einzigen Gäste (Montagabend) gewesen sind. Der Gastwirt war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Essen hat auch lecker geschmeckt. Reste konnten problemlos mitgenommen werden. Auch Kartenzahlung ist kein Problem gewesen.

Das Essen war mega lecker. Gyros kross und saftig, Pommes goldgelb, Zaziki top und die gegrillten Peperoni mega lecker, dazu das fluffige Brot. Absolut zu empfehlen. Wir kommen wieder!

Dieses Restaurant ist wirklich ein "kleines Stück Griechenland mitten in Niedersachsen"... Einfach leckere griechische Gerichte, zu super fairen Preisen und dafür haben wir die Wartezeit gerne in Kauf genommen... Wir kommen wieder, gar keine Frage... 👍👍👍

Wir waren gestern, spontan zur viert bei Restaurant Apollo Essen. Wir hatten : Bifteki gefüllt mit Fetakäse, dazu Reis, Zaziki und Salat, Gyros überbacken mit Sauce Hollandaise und Gauda-Käse überbacken, dazu Pommes und Salat, Schweinefilet mit Kräuterbutter dazu Reis und Zaziki, Hermes Teller Gyros, Bifteki, Pommes, Salat und Zaziki. War im großen und ganzen lecker das Essen, war die Portion etwas klein.

Sehr leckeres Essen und sehr nette Gastgeber. Wir hatten keine langen Wartezeiten und waren vollstens zufrieden. Wir kommen jederzeit gerne wieder.

Schmackhafte griechische Speisen, freundlicher familiärer Service, rustikale Einrichtung, insgesamt entspricht es dem was man von einen guten griechischen Lokal erwartet. Etwas enttäuscht waren wir von der Kombination Gyros und Bifteki, das Bifteki war eine Frikadelle weil nicht mit Feta gefüllt. Der Wirt erklärte uns, dass das aufgrund der Größe nicht ginge ... Trotzdem, wer griechisch essen möchte, ist hier gut aufgehoben.

Beim Griechen erwartet man immer dasselbe und günstig. Aber alle haben erhöht deshalb ist das auch für uns bei apollo ok. Für uns ist das Essen bestens sehr schmackhaft und safig. Da es ein Familienunternehmen ist und es überall kaum Personal für die Gastronomie gibt muss man halt etwas länger warten. Chef trotzdem sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Leider nicht mehr das was das frühere Restaurant "Athen" unter dem ehemaligen Besitzer war. Wenig auf dem Teller, Preise aber sehr hoch. Preis-Leistung passt nicht.

Sehr gutes Essen . Da es für einen Montag sehr gut besucht war, hatte der Service etwas mit der Zeit zu kämpfen- das warten hat sich aber definitiv gelohnt !

Das Essen ist lecker, Portionen sind ausreichend. Der Preis für gegrillte Peperoni ist mit 8,60 Euro schon recht happig. Die Wartezeit ist nicht akzeptabel, zumal nur wenige Tische besetzt waren. Wir kämen gern wieder, wenn wir wüssten, dass wir nicht solange auf das Essen warten müssten.

Wir würden am liebsten 10 Sterne geben, ihr seid eine wahre Bereicherung für Bad Rothenfelde! Das Essen ist einfach IMMER perfekt, in das Saganaki und die Metaxasauce könnten wir uns reinlegen. Das Fleisch ist immer saftig zart und der Service ist eine 10/10. Danke das es euch gibt 🙏

Ich bin mehr als nur positiv überrascht. Essen war mehr als sehr lecker. Das war die reinste Gaumen Freude. Es kann man nicht in Worte fassen unglaublich lecker. Freundliche Bedienung. Essen war genau wie man sich das beim Griechen vorstellt!! Kann nur jedem das Lokal empfehlen!! Ein Lob an die Köchin. Die versteht ihr Handwerk. Dafür 5 Punkte!! Wer hier in der Umgebung ist sollte das Restaurant aufsuchen. Der Weg lohnt sich.
