The pizza is exceptionally good. However, the owner is very unfriendly, which is why I only recommend ordering takeaway pizza here.

It's impossible to reach this restaurant by phone. It even got to the point where my call was answered and the phone was simply left on hold for 5 minutes. Outrageous. Update: The food was outstanding. You can't get better pizza in Germany.

The ambiance is unbeatable, absolutely rustic like a museum in Italy. I ordered a 39cm pizza, but it arrived as large as a 40cm one. The taste was absolutely delicious (it had Serrano ham and Parmesan, etc.). The waiter arrived at my table faster than I could grab my drink from the self-service fridge. A truly fantastic Italian restaurant! Nothing pretentious, just quality over quantity. Even the phone seems to be an old-fashioned analog one. 💪🏻👍👍

Very original, unusual, rustic. Reservations are necessary; otherwise, you'll need a lot of luck. We waited, but it was worth it. The pizzas were delicious, and so was the dessert. The seating area isn't exactly cozy. But at least we got something to eat; the owner made it possible. I would go again, but I'd reserve a table beforehand, and then I'm sure we'd have a more comfortable seating experience. ☺️

We're in Leipzig for the weekend and decided to go out for dinner at 8 p.m. The reviews lured us to 'Amico,' and even though we didn't arrive until 9 p.m., we received a warm welcome. The food came quickly and was simply delicious. The service and atmosphere are simply fantastic! Next time we're in Leipzig, we'll definitely go back to Amico!

5 stars in every respect because the shop is a work of art. The service is perfect because everything that is done here and how it is done belongs together. It could be that the owner is completely at his limit at one point or the pizza may have a little less topping or the crust a little thicker. Everything has to be exactly as it is and cannot be topped. Of course, no one can expect to get through on the phone. This is a one-man operation! What is done here is fantastic! The pizza, the ambience, everything!!! That it exists is a miracle and a gift. Delicious! It's nice that there are so many people who appreciate it so much. Amico forever!!! I hope so.

American visiting Leipzig, stumbled upon this place on a walk with a good friend. Walking in youre immediately greeted with a rustic Italian villa, and a man in all white working his pizza oven. You can wait to be seated or do take-away, I've done both. Waiting for a seat is worth it, but the place is small. You order by writing down what you want on the back of old receipts, 5 minutes later you get your pizza, pay with cash, and enjoy. The best pizza I had in both my trips across Europe, and who would have thought it was in the middle of Leipzig, Germany. I'm very glad I was able to enjoy this establishment with my friend we had a wonderful time, I'm back in Leipzig I will be returning.

We absolutely love the charm of the shop and the pizza! The only big problem: We can't reach anyone there – at any time. Since we live in a different part of town, we can't just drop in spontaneously. And when we've tried, everything's already booked. This is the best pizza in Leipzig - and it has been for years. Some may complain about the self-service nature of the restaurant, but the pizza is so good it more than makes up for any weakness in service.

Once every hundred reviews, I want to give it ten stars. This is the case here. It's small, cramped, and warm, and the chef has to worry about both the pizza and the guests. Still, I wouldn't change anything about our experience. Please keep it exactly the same... I have to come back... for the pizza and the atmosphere.

Reservation impossible, no one can be reached. When asked in the store, they said that everything was reserved and that they should call. There was no table left, even though the shop was still empty at 5 p.m. sharp. I've called literally a thousand times and no one answers. Made on the way for free. It's a real shame because I was really looking forward to a good pizza. Then we went to Pekar and got a seat there without any problems and ate some great pizza! That's why I recommend going here instead.

It's almost impossible to book a table by phone since the restaurant is always busy and the owner run by himself. However, you can reserve a table in person if you visit. The pizza is Neapolitan, very large and topped with delicious, fresh ingredients. In addition, it is finished very quickly. You should definitely reserve a seat, which is what I did. The owner is peculiar but nice. He runs the store on his own, so compromises have to be made. If you don't want that, you've come to the wrong place. Drinks are self-service. Ambiance is an 11 out of 10. A unique experience and not so popular for nothing.

Best pizza outside of Italy but you have to expect unreliability and get involved in the experience. Every now and then the shop is closed and the door isn't open for how long. Without a reservation, you may be told "no room and the dough is gone" and 10 minutes later, when it's quieter, the next person will be told there's room. Still, the restaurant is worth it because the pizza is heavenly, as is the tiramisu.

I was a bit confused at the beginning and didn't know how everything worked there. There is also only one person for everything. That's why come here if you can get involved and you'll get first-class and authentic food from Italy. The ingredients e.g. B. Ham is cut fresh for each pizza individually and not beforehand for the whole day. A lot of it is homemade... but you should be prepared to get your own drinks, cut your own pizza and be prepared to go there to make a reservation for next time because there is no alternative.

Definitely best pizza in Leipzig. Giuseppe created a very authentic spot in Leipzig which a passer-by would not even recognise as a trattoria. We got the place recommended by an Italian and love it ever since.

Looking for the perfect pizza... Amico was on our to-do list for a long time. I was in Naples in the best shops in the city, I was in Ingelheim with the pizza world champion Francesco and in many other countries that pride themselves on making the best pizza. And then you end up at Amico, a small shop that you would immediately miss from the outside. Getting a table is still a difficult matter, on the one hand there are only 12 seats and on the other hand word has gotten around about the quality of what you get here. The incredibly friendly boss runs the small shop all by himself and gives the shop's ambience that certain something extra. You take your own drinks and after ordering the pizza, the high-quality ingredients are freshly put together. The refrigerator with ham, mozzarella and the like is in the dining room - so everyone can see what excellent quality the ingredients are. We ordered a Margherita and a Pizza di Parma. What can you say! The already extremely high expectations were exceeded - and not even just. A perfect base, an incredibly sweet and fruity sauce made from San Marzano tomatoes, aromatic, intense buffalo mozzarella (the extra charge is worth it) - that's what a perfect pizza should taste like and it's incredibly rare to get it in this outstanding combination. The Pizza di Parma with aromatic Parma ham and Parmesan cheese and mozzarella was also an absolute delight. Yes, the pizzas here are €2-5 more expensive than in some other stores - BUT it's worth every cent of extra charge. A pizza close to perfection, perfect ingredients, a great ambience, an outstanding host - you can't compensate for that with money. Have we found the best pizza here? For me, yes. For me it is at least on a par with the equally great (Neapolitan) pizza from pizza world champion Francesco. Having a store like this in Leipzig is just nice and a highlight.

This experience is unique. We spontaneously looked for a pizzeria that day and ended up at Amico. After initially thinking that there was no restaurant here anymore (no sign, covered windows), we entered the very small restaurant. The cook was at the stove and you didn't really know whether you could just sit down. You can't :), so always make a reservation. But we were allowed to put a table between the groceries and eat our pizzas there. The decor is rustic, special, but fits 100% to the deeply relaxed owner, who manages everything himself while Adriano Celentano plays in the background. This inner peace, the ambience and, at the end, this perfect pizza make the whole thing a very special highlight. Without many spoilers: this was by far the best pizza, a unique place and an experience that I would recommend to everyone. Prices correspond to the quality you receive. All original Italian ingredients. We will come back next time we visit Leipzig. Grazie Guiseppe!

Really good, authentic Italian pizza is available here in a one-man operation in what feels like the smallest pizzeria with the greatest flair. If you want to sit in, you have to pre-order or you're very lucky.

The best pizza I know. The atmosphere is Italian cozy, the boss is Italian, the Italian sausage is freshly cut from the slice for each pizza, only placed on the pizza after the oven so that it can develop its full flavor and doesn't get overcooked in the oven, you can just taste it here is cooked with love. Always happy, even if it costs a little more.

Admittedly, our experience was great because we shared a table with a very sociable couple. But the decor and the incredibly good pizzas would have been convincing on their own. (Be careful, the hot oil is really hot). It's no surprise that the small restaurant had no tables available, even though you can't see anything from the outside. Simply the best pizzaria in the whole world for me, and I have traveled to almost every continent :D You can tell that the pizza contains all the passion and the best ingredients of the owner and his island of origin. The ambience is very special, especially because of the flour taps that the owner distributes in the shop when he goes from the pizza oven to his guests, since he makes everything himself :)

Great little pizzeria with an owner who runs his business with heart and soul. Loving furnishings with a lot of soul. Pizzas are simply galactic. Unfortunately we've never had dessert or just bought salami etc, but that's coming. We can only recommend him.

You have to have some desire and love for a different restaurant visit... It is neither comfortable nor particularly clean, let alone cheap or characterized by good service... Nevertheless, you can't avoid praising the pizza for its fresh and special ingredients, which should be the focus. For any other restaurant I would give 1-2 stars for the ambience and service, but here it is the charm of the whole concept... Drink price, e.g. for 1 bottle. Cola 0.33l self-service for €4.40 is incomprehensible in contrast to the high-priced and excellent pizza.
