We've been getting food there the last two days and are very satisfied. It tastes delicious, and the doner kebab plate is really filling; it'll probably last until tomorrow afternoon. 😅🙈

The breakfast was ok and tasted delicious. The innkeeper was very nice. Prepared the scrambled eggs pretty quickly and deliciously. The rooms were better than previously imagined. The accommodation was absolutely fine.

We stayed at the Golden Barrel for one night in June 2025 as part of our Lahn cycling tour. It's located outside of and across from Nassau, on a hill. But that doesn't matter, as you're in excellent hands here. The room was small, but it offers everything you need. The beds were great – we slept very well and it was extremely quiet. We also ate here in the evening – and it was very good. The menu was very good, and the prices were very fair (just as the overnight price including breakfast is very fair). The breakfast was also plentiful, actually too plentiful, and of excellent quality. Egg dishes were offered fresh, as were pancakes. And a huge thank you to the hotel owners! The couple was truly exceptionally accommodating and hospitable. Why can't you find such nice and attentive hosts everywhere? We felt very comfortable and can highly recommend a stay here.
