Also das Essen war - na ja. Der Teriyaki Lachs ist viel zu süß, die Patatas Arugadas sind in einer orangenen Sauce ertrunken, die keine Ähnlichkeit mit der angekündigten Mojo Rojo hat. Die Avocados bei den Tapas Shrimps hatten einen sehr ungewöhnlichen und nicht angenehmen Geschmack. Und das Ganze hat recht lange gedauert. Ich würde nicht nochmal hierher gehen.

Schon am alten Standort gut und hier nun auch immer und immer wieder! :-)

Das Altstadt Café ist eine super schöne Location mit hevorragendem Essen (egal ob Frühstück, Mittag- oder Abendessen) und sehr nettem Personal. Aufgrund dessen haben wir uns dazu entschieden unsere Hochzeit hier zu feiern und es nicht bereut. Wir hatten eine tolle Feier und sind rundum zufrieden! Das Buffet war extrem lecker, was auch von unseren Gästen nur bestätigt wurde! Auch Unverträglichkeiten (z.B. Lactose, Gluten) sind kein Problem. Auch die Auswahl an veganem Essen ist super. Die ganze Abwicklung mit Danijela war von Anfang unkompliziert und problemlos. Vielen Dank für den unvergesslichen Tag! :)

Ein wunderbares Café mit einer unglaublich gemütlichen Atmosphäre. Das Frühstück war nicht nur sehr lecker, sondern auch liebevoll angerichtet und aus frischen Zutaten zubereitet. Besonders gefallen hat uns die große Auswahl und die Qualität der Speisen. Der Service war herzlich, aufmerksam und man hat sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen gefühlt. Genau der richtige Ort, um entspannt in den Tag zu starten. Selten so gut gefrühstückt. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder und können das Café uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Gehe hier sehr gerne frühstücken.👌 Abendessen auch gut. Aber es ist schon relativ teuer. Und die Sitzgelegenheiten draussen sind etwas unbequem.

Ein tolles Frühstück bei herrlichem Sonnenschein auf dem Umstädter Marktplatz. Regionale Köstlichkeiten, serviert von einem netten und zuvorkommenden Team. Absolut empfehlenswert!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Das Altstadtcafé in Groß-Umstadt ist ein echtes Highlight! Die Lage direkt am Marktplatz ist traumhaft – sowohl drinnen als auch draußen. Im Sommer auf den schönen Außenplätzen zu sitzen, ist einfach wunderbar. Das Café bietet eine große Auswahl an frischen Speisen – ob zum Frühstück, Brunch oder einfach für einen Snack zwischendurch. Die Getränkeauswahl ist stilvoll und vielfältig – von frisch gepressten Säften bis zu kreativen Getränken ist alles dabei. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das superfreundliche Personal, das einem wirklich das Gefühl gibt, willkommen zu sein. Der Umzug von Reinheim nach Groß-Umstadt vor ein paar Jahren hat sich definitiv gelohnt – dieses Café passt perfekt in die Altstadt. Ein absolutes Muss, wenn man in Groß-Umstadt ist. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne!

Wir waren zum Frühstück im Café und leider ziemlich enttäuscht. Das Essen war zwar nett angerichtet, aber geschmacklich „okay“….Das Sauerteigbrot wirkte nicht frisch… eher wie vom Vortag, und so etwas bekomme ich zuhause auch. Die Pancakes haben uns ebenfalls nicht überzeugt und schmeckten eher nach Fertigware als nach frisch zubereitet… diese waren einfach nur trocken. Auch die Getränke waren für das, was geboten wurde, recht teuer. Zudem war es sehr laut, sodass man sich kaum unterhalten konnte. Positiv hervorzuheben ist allerdings die freundliche Bedienung. Insgesamt stimmt für uns das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis nicht, vor allem auch in Anbetracht der Portionsgrößen. Schade, da wir uns mehr erhofft hatten.

Ich gehe sehr gerne und regelmäßig ins Altstadtcafe. Der Service und das Essen sind gut. Das Café ist gemütlich. Leider nicht barrierefrei.

Gemütliches Ambiente, Essen geschmacklich sehr gut, preislich überteuert. Service freundlich, ist aber leider lieber damit beschäftigt sich miteinander zu unterhalten als nach den Gästen zu sehen.

Reservations are highly recommended here, although we managed to get a table for two without an appointment. The staff is incredibly friendly and reliable. The drinks and food were served quite quickly. The cappuccino and the strawberry matcha latte were delicious. The Egg Benedict sandwich with pulled pork and the Old Town Cafe variation are also highly recommended. The menu is quite unique and unusual for the region. In summary, this cafe is a lovely place for breakfast and coffee.

A basic bowl is a bit too expensive for what it contains. The service was friendly, but could have been more attentive. The ambiance is simply modern. All in all, it's okay.

The Altstadt Café in Groß-Umstadt is highly recommended! You immediately feel at home upon entering; the atmosphere is cozy, warm, and inviting. The team is super friendly and attentive, and ensures that you feel completely welcome as a guest. The selection of cakes and tarts is very large: fresh, homemade, and incredibly delicious. The breakfast is also plentiful and lovingly prepared, leaving nothing to be desired. The location in the heart of the old town is also particularly beautiful; you can sit outside and enjoy the ambiance when the weather is nice. A perfect place to spend some relaxing time with friends, family, or even alone. I'll definitely be back! I highly recommend it!

A small egg sandwich and apple spritzer are available for €20. They also serve an unripe half avocado. I came hungry and left even hungrier. It's amazing what you don't get for your money there. Otherwise, the service and atmosphere are good.

We went to the Altstadt Café for breakfast today. It was incredibly delicious. A lot of love goes into more than just the food. You can immediately tell the waiters love their jobs. Everyone is incredibly friendly. The Mango Matcha Latte is a fantastic concoction. It tasted incredibly delicious. It definitely won't be our last visit.

Very tasty dishes and excellent coffee. Delicious and special breakfast/brunch dishes. Everything is beautifully presented and the quality is truly excellent. We were seated in a quiet side room upon request. The ambiance is lovely, cozy, stylish, and clean.

The menu is very modern and woke. Portions are rather small and not filling, even for those who find normal restaurant portions too much. Service is friendly. The ambiance is okay.

A lovely café spread across two dining areas (and one on the market square). The online reservation system is excellent. Our breakfast was once again beautifully prepared, fresh, delicious, and plentiful. The service (despite being incredibly busy) was friendly and always there.

Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed with dinner. I had the Buddha Bowl with chicken and was given a small bowl, for which I paid €18. The price wasn't reasonable in my opinion. My friends weren't really full from their portions either. The atmosphere is nice, but the service was rather disorganized; they forgot to serve sauces but charged for them. The food was okay, but as I said, the price-performance ratio was absolutely not right. I can't comment on breakfast, but we were pretty disappointed with the evening meal.

The café has a very beautiful, modern interior, perfect for any occasion. Especially in summer, it's lovely to sit outside on the market square and relax. I've had nothing but positive experiences with the service, and the food and drinks are generally served quickly and reliably. Everything tastes really good and fresh. Overall, it's definitely worth a visit!

The Altstadt Café saved my Easter breakfast this year 🐣🙏 Unfortunately, our breakfast at another café was canceled at short notice. Despite the short lead time for ordering the breakfast boxes, an exception was made! I had already read and heard a lot of good things. Now we, two couples, were there for breakfast. In general you have to say that the breakfast was very good, positively different and plentiful. You definitely got full. The operation and service were very good and attentive. You can argue about the ambience. Nice, rather simple and modern. I would have liked more comfortable chairs. But it was ok. The women's toilets could have been a bit bigger. But these are always things that lie in the perception of the viewer. However, I can only give the visit 3 stars because, to be honest, I was really shocked when the bill came later. 150€!!! for a breakfast for 4 people...??? Yes, everything has its price... But I was neither at the 4 Seasons in Hamburg nor at the Steigenberger in Frankfurt. I was only in the old town cafe in Gross-Umstadt. Then I wanted to know what I was paying. I didn't get a receipt, it was read to me quickly. There was also something on it twice, which we didn't have twice. That was deducted, but it didn't change the total much. I checked it again at home using the online menu and there was still a small difference to my disadvantage. But now okay. Something like that can always happen. It would be good if vouchers were simply handed out for payment, then there would be no confusion. I don't think I'll come back for breakfast again because the prices are very high. As I said, the quality is very good. But for 150€ I can have a very, very good dinner with 4 people. And everyone has to decide for themselves whether they want to spend so much money on a “breakfast”.

A good place to drink specialty coffee.

Unfortunately I was only there for the first time today. The most important thing in advance: The culinary is mega delicious. I had something Indian. Service super nice, relaxed, friendly. The ambience is ok. Clean, very chilled. The price was a bit high, but it was worth every euro. It wasn't the last time we were there and I can only recommend going there to everyone. THANK YOU to the entire team, from service to kitchen.

Everything is super tasty but quite expensive. We had a hearty breakfast with 4 people and it came to €85. But you can also only get rolls with jam or something similar if you only want something small. The ambience is very nice.

I also like to go to Groß-Umstadt instead of Reinheim because of the good food, the ambience and the service-oriented staff. Always nice here! :)

As soon as you enter you can feel the cozy atmosphere, the stylish ambience and the warm hospitality. The breakfast selection is varied and of the highest quality. Fresh rolls, crispy croissants, a delicious selection of sausages and cheese as well as fresh fruit - all lovingly prepared and delicious in terms of taste. There was also delicious, aromatic coffee, which rounded off the perfect start to the day. The service was attentive, friendly and professional - you really feel welcome here. We were in this restaurant last weekend, and to be honest – 5 stars are actually not enough! The service was simply top: attentive, friendly and with a lot of passion. The Ćevapčići were absolute madness. Nice and crispy on the outside, buttery soft on the inside and full of flavor. There was also a homemade lemonade with mango and lime - super refreshing and just right. The crowning finale was a chocolate cake with a liquid center and vanilla ice cream. An absolute dream! In addition to the fantastic food, we were also impressed by the ambience. The restaurant is very cozy, stylish and designed with great attention to detail - you just feel good. We'll definitely be back!

The price/performance ratio is generally not right for me. The service is friendly and could be more attentive. €27.90 for the brunch buffet is way too high. (Not to mention that I eat small portions...) The selection leaves a lot to be desired. Such a small buffet definitely doesn't justify such a high price. What I missed: Fresh fruit, plain yogurt, make-your-own muesli, waffles/crepes or similar, more than one jam and, for example, honey and boiled eggs. That's my expectation of a brunch buffet that costs almost €30 per person. Also, for example, orange juice/water/tea or coffee could have been free. I'm definitely not going back for brunch!

Beautiful, modern, and simple decor, without any frills. We were there with a large group (15 people) and ate à la carte. The dishes all arrived at the same time, piping hot, from the kitchen. We were absolutely satisfied with the preparation and taste, even if the prices are a bit higher. Freshness and regionality are a top priority, even with the beer. They serve a very good beer from the Umstädter Brauhaus. The evening was rounded off with a delicious warm chocolate cake with a melted center and vanilla ice cream. Thanks to the very friendly and attentive service, we felt very comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our evening.

Really good breakfast, especially things you never make yourself, like poached eggs etc! The price is upper middle class, but you don't go every week! Gluten-free bread was no problem and apparently contamination-free, otherwise I would have noticed it straight away.

We were there as a group for several hours for a family celebration. I received excellent advice during the planning phase and was given a coffee on the house, a very friendly gesture. Everything at the celebration was to our greatest satisfaction. Everyone enjoyed it, the food was fresh, colorful and locally sourced. Delicious dessert, good cake, also available vegan. Everything was lovingly prepared and the tables were decorated for Christmas. If 13 people are highly satisfied with everything over several hours, that's worth 5 stars in all respects. I was there for breakfast with my best friend today. We were warmly welcomed and served in a friendly manner. We never lacked for anything. The breakfast was delicious, fresh and plentiful. We'll definitely come back again.

I had breakfast there on a Sunday. I had the acai bowl, also a croissant with Nutella and the organic fried eggs. I liked everything very much, but the fruit puree in the bowl was extremely cold, almost like slush ice. Definitely great in summer. A bit cold for autumn/winter. We sat in a side room, the noise was quite high there, but all the tables were occupied. The service was very friendly.

Today we took a break on an Odenwald tour with the Ryker. As always satisfied. Staff is friendly. Had a cappuccino, BioZisch lemon and the small salad bowl

I recommend making a reservation by phone in advance, especially if there are several of you. As always, the food was delicious and beautifully presented. In the evening it is also beautiful and romantic here. The croissant was exchanged for the olives, which are actually included in the Altstadt Variation breakfast, at a small extra charge. My Eggs Benedict’s were the way I like them, liquid core. However, I would not recommend picking up the slice of bread with the egg like you would eat normal bread if you don't want to get dirty, but eat it with a knife and fork. Overall, a really nice area for everyone. Our chai latte and cappucino were also beautifully presented and delicious. This was my fourth and definitely not last visit. P.s: They are also very dog ​​friendly, perfect for those who have an assistance dog.

The Altstadt Café Groß-Umstadt is rated on Google with an average of 4.6 stars, which I found excessive. They are good, have delicious food in normal portions for breakfast, lunch and dinner, at reasonable prices. The service is very friendly, the location and the ambience are old-fashioned and cozy. There's actually nothing to seriously complain about. But 4.6 stars correspond to the level of a top restaurant and they are a long way from that. Let's say a good 4.2, that would be much more appropriate.

Our service employee seemed to be very reprimanded by the boss, so she always just referred to “the boss”. It's a shame ☹️ Drinks were great, food looked good.

Nettes Café im Ortskern. Gutes Angebot an Frühstücken und Cafevarianten. Leider ist auch hier frühstücken kein ganz günstiges Vergnügen aber die Qualität fanden wir gut und z.B. das Standardfrühstück hätte im Zweifel mit zwei weiteren Brötchen auch für 2 Personen mit normalem/kleinen Appetit ausgereicht.

Today I was outside on the market square in the old town café in the best summer weather. You can sit nicely under parasols with a great view. I ordered hummus for a quick lunch, which came with toasted white bread. On my hummus scale I would say good average. There could have been a few olives as a contrast, but with the white bread it was too dry and weakly seasoned for me. Next time we'll have a salad. The waitresses were very attentive and nice

I like the old town café! The reception itself is incredibly accommodating and kind. The service is very friendly, attentive and fast and the food comes surprisingly quickly. I love the Thai curry and the burgers and I really like the coffee. Not to forget the incredibly delicious cakes in the counter. You can feel the love and passion with which the café is run and the good atmosphere that prevails. I really like the atmosphere, I like this style.

I was there with 3 friends. Orders were frequent mixed up, i.e. h. Drinks were delivered that were not ordered. Then 2 drinks were returned and the correct drinks were delivered. This was repeated twice. So far so good, but these “fake drinks” became additive calculated. I only noticed it when I did the math at home, but unfortunately I didn't get the receipt. The food was very tasty, But we would have liked to order more, but at some point there was no service. Too bad. Unfortunately this happened to me personally for the second time.

Here you can get delicious gluten-free penne, burgers and sometimes even gluten-free cakes in a beautiful atmosphere. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio decreased somewhat after moving to Groß-Umstadt: 12 fries with a burger were far too few, even for our 14-year-old daughter! Prices are rather high. The atmosphere in the renovated restaurant is very nice and the service is great too! When the weather is good you can sit outside on the market square. Many gluten-free dishes possible!

Super!!!!!! We and a family friend celebrated our daughters' confirmation with a total of 50 people in the Old Town Cafe at the beginning of May. The food was very tasty, the service was great and the ambience/table decoration was simply beautiful. A clear recommendation. We have previously been to the "old" old town cafe in Reinheim and feel very comfortable at the new location. We'll definitely be back :)

We were there on a Sunday. You had to wait a relatively long time for service before you could order (around 20 at least after twice the request). The food was delicious and the coffee was great too.

A very nice café with an attractive ambience. The service was very friendly and attentive. I also found it authentic that the owner wore a necklace with a croissant around her neck. The breakfast was really tasty, even if the portions were a little small for the price. The toilets are also a bit narrow and the ceiling is very low, but there's probably no other way to fix that.
