Altes Stadthaus in Westerstede

A lovely hotel in the heart of Westerstede! The rooms are cozy and very clean, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious – you feel completely at ease. Highly recommended.

Probably one of the nicest hotels we've stayed on for a long time. Very tidy and clean room with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was first class with a large selection of cereals, bread and bread rolls, yoghurt, coffees or teas, and with friendly happy looking staff. Westerstede is a beautiful small town, and this hotel is right in the middle of the town centre. A large free parking area is just 20 yards from the Hotel, and we were even offered a secure, covered parking space for my motorbike. That was very welcome, and comforting to know that no passers by might be tempted to sit on it for a selfie, (that has happened at least twice before). If we are ever in the area again we will definitely book a stay.

I can only rate the food and the service here. The food wasn't good... I, or rather, we had schnitzel... and when a schnitzel comes fresh from the pan, the meat should be soft... and that wasn't the case... the meat was tough... so the schnitzel was just warmed up... and you could taste that right away. So it wasn't for us. The service also left a lot to be desired... after a quarter of an hour, we got up to pay our bill... the response from the waiter: we were overcharged... and it wasn't full... oh well... we won't go there a second time... but judging by the other reviews, everyone is entitled to their own opinion...

I read the review by Stefanie Gräfe, who only ate there. I know this woman and her family, including their dog Lucky. They live in 51766 Engelskirchen. I read how she ranted about the food. Do you know what her father and mother ate that day? He ate sauerkraut with black pudding, and she had a plum pancake.

Since I only visited the restaurant, I can only comment on that. Good, home-style cooking with fresh ingredients, very tasty. The service was pleasant and friendly, and also very quick. The food also came quite quickly, but we were also quite early and relatively alone in the restaurant. As I said, the food was good and tasty, but it didn't blow me away. But I have to be honest and say that German cuisine is hard for me.

The rooms are tidy and clean. The staff is very friendly! I'd like to mention that we were able to park our motorcycles in a secure area at the hotel.

From here, we started our bike tours through the Ammerland region. The hotel offers bicycle storage and charging outlets. The food is very good, and there's something for everyone. This wasn't our last visit.

Wonderful beer garden beneath an ancient copper beech tree. The food is of a high-class, home-style standard and offers good value for money. I'd be happy to return! Unfortunately, the Red Beech had to close after two years due to illness. Nevertheless, the beer garden is still very cozy.

The accommodations aren't exactly modern, but they're clean and have everything you need. Very friendly and attentive staff, a good, extensive breakfast buffet, and good evening news. It's quiet despite being near the market square; there's free parking there, and a great little idyllic beer garden. We really liked it. The town of Westerstede is also very clean and idyllic, with beautiful streets and a harmonious feel. Everything feels cozy, as if it's stepped out of the modern world.

A very nice hotel in the city center, with ample parking, bicycle storage, and an e-bike charging station. The rooms were spacious, the breakfast was truly gourmet, the half-board dinner was very varied and delicious, and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended.

We stayed one night in a great apartment with full facilities. Everything was very spacious, including the bathroom!! Very modern and lovingly furnished. Everything is there, from dishes to everything you need for cooking to wine glasses and even a washing machine including detergent. Breakfast is also full of everything and the breakfast dream is extremely cozy and furnished with great attention to detail. Everything is great

Nice hotel in the middle of the village. A bit rustic, old school and retro with bad internet, but who goes here for that reason? The breakfast was ok. The rest too. Nothing more, nothing less.

Oh well. There is still a lot missing that can be improved. But they try hard. So wait and drink tea ☕️.

Just great! The room reservation by telephone was great and uncomplicated. We were able to clarify our concerns in advance so that all wishes were taken into account. The free parking spaces are directly behind the hotel and can be easily reached on foot. We were warmly welcomed and were able to move straight into our beautiful room with a balcony facing the green courtyard. In the evening we ate in the hotel restaurant and were thrilled by the very good cuisine with regional products and great service. In the morning we enjoyed the well-filled and very rich buffet with good coffee, great service here too. We would be happy to come back and can warmly recommend the hotel and the restaurant. The price-performance ratio is more than reasonable. Thanks for the great stay.

Very tasty food and very nice service

Booking via portal with filter pets allowed. After a week we received information that the room category we had booked (modern junior suite) did not allow dogs and that we could then be offered a double room with a balcony under the same conditions. However, it was necessary to rebook on site because dogs were not allowed in the rebooked double room. I'm sorry, what? We were told this accordingly - what chaos! However, the double room we were then allocated was old and unrenovated, the carpet was stained - while the junior suite we had actually booked would have been renovated and modern. The whole thing is outrageous under the same conditions. When we asked whether we could be accommodated in terms of price, we were told that this would be clarified with the management. The next morning we were offered a “discount” of 5%, nothing else. We then left at short notice after one night and looked for a new hotel where our dog was not only tolerated, but also really welcome. Although there was a restaurant in the hotel, we were no longer able to eat there in the evening. We were not informed beforehand that we would have had to reserve a table there. All in all, we were most disappointed with the senior manager in the morning, who simply had no interest in handling the whole thing in a service-oriented manner. Not recommendable

I felt very comfortable and welcome at the Hotel Altes Stadthaus. Starting with a phone call in advance regarding a later arrival, about the first impression at check-in and very flexible organization regarding my room to the wonderfully prepared breakfast buffet. The rooms are nicely furnished and absolutely clean. The location is great, there is free parking in Westerstede - that's rare! The price-performance ratio is right, I'd love to come back.

A really great country house style hotel

For work, I always stay in the hotel from Thursday to Friday every week and am always very satisfied. The rooms are very clean and super comfortable. The breakfast is very tasty and fresh, with plenty of delicious rolls. I feel very comfortable here and can really recommend it.

Unfortunately, we have a lesser experience with this hotel. During the checkout process it became completely clear to us that THE OWNER WAS ON HOLIDAY. There was a card in the room that said, if you have any complaints or comments, please report this. A few days after our departure and a few weeks later, we sent the owner an email again with our findings/experiences. Unfortunately we did not receive a response. Well, we think that says a lot about the owner.

I received a very nice welcome with Furnase. The room was inviting. Every question I had was answered courteously. All in all: Highly recommended!!!

Het ziet er allemaal wat braaf en keurig uit, verwacht niets spectaculairs. Maar het personeel is vriendelijk en attent, de schnitzel was lekker, patatjes knapperig en een mooi schaaltje gemengde salade. Heel goede prijs / kwaliteit verhouding.

Irgend etwas stimmt hier aktuell nicht. Die Speisen standen nach drei Minuten auf dem Tisch. Es schmeckte auch alles so, als sei es schon seit morgens fertig gewesen und dann nur warm gehalten worden wäre. Demzufolge waren die Kartoffeln wie Gummi und die Panade des Schnitzels matschig. Keine Empfehlung für Gerichte mit einem Preis von 18,90€.

wir hatten uns hier zum Spargelessen einen Tisch reserviert. Als Klassiker hiesiger Spargel mit Schnitzel , Kartoffeln und Hollandaise. Vorweg bestellten wir noch einen Salat. Geschmacklich war das ganze okay. Die Schnitzel waren frisch zubereitet. Der Spargel etwas mehr als bissfest. Die Hollandaise war relativ flüssig. Vom Preis/Leistungsverhältnis vielleicht etwas zu hoch. Allerdings hat der Spargel ja auch seine Preisschwankungen. Im Ganzen kann man das Essen als gut bürgerlich bezeichnen. Das Personal war freundlich. Die Lokalität passt zum Namen altes Stadthaus.

Ein sehr ansprechende Karte mit leckeren Speisen. Fisch und Fleisch. Schön angerichtet und mit Beilagen wie Salat oder Bratkartoffeln serviert. Mehrere Biere vom Fass.

Klasse Service, sehr aufmerksam und gehen auch auf Extrawünsche ein. Der Biergarten unter einem riesengroßen mit Sicherheit über 150 Jahre alten Baum hat eine klasse Atmosphäre

Positiv: schöne Räumlichkeiten und nette Bedienung, Das Essen schmeckt jedoch wie ein Fertiggericht.

Wie im Ernst kann man für dieses Lokal Pinkte vergeben. Maximal für den Service. Daher auch zwei Punkte von mir. Mehr Tüte geht beim Essen nicht. Fertig panierte Schnitzel, ich vermute sogar Formfleisch, Soße aus der Türe. Wirklich Leute, dafür geht man nicht Essen. Das bekommt jeder noch so untalentierte Koch zu Hause selber hin.

Das Essen ist jedesmal sehr lecker und alles frisch zubereitet. Ich ich mag die schöne ruhige Atmosphäre. Auch der Service ist sehr gut.

Netter Garten, sehr freundliches Personal, sehr gutes Essen! Vor allem das Matjesfilet mit Bratkartoffeln war eine Wucht, ich würde sofort wieder hingehen!

Wir haben uns etwas Außer Haus abgeholt und ich muss sagen, ich bin begeistert. Das Essen war noch heiß und auch sehr lecker. Ich kann es kaum erwarten vor Ort zu essen, sobald dies wieder möglich ist. Hier bestellen wir wieder!

Wir haben uns gestern zwei Außer Haus Gerichte vom Restaurant Altes Stadthaus abgeholt und müssen sagen, es war köstlich! Das Essen schmeckte frisch zubereitet und war auch noch angenehm heiß. Die telefonische Abwicklung war unkompliziert und das Personal sehr höflich. Wir bestellen hier ab sofort auf jeden Fall regelmäßig.
