I miss red cabbage with dumplings and sweet potato fries. Reserved tables aren't marked. Please get small signs for them. Sitting at a table and having to get up is really unpleasant. The servers are very friendly and flexible. The menu can be easily mixed and matched. The dishes are often too salty. I like honey instead of sugar with tea or latte macchiato. The atmosphere inside on the upper floor is the best. It's quite windy and cold outside. Happy to offer a bowl of water for dog owners.

The seven of us were in the area for a few days and enjoyed food at the Alte Mühle on two evenings. The reservation was very easy on the first evening and we immediately felt at home in the beautiful atmosphere! The service was great! The drinks were picked up and served very quickly. The really, really tasty food went just as quickly. Great attention is paid to seasonal dishes and we all really enjoyed and enjoyed our meal here!! It's not for nothing that we were here on two evenings! THANKS!

So I'll start with the ambience, it's good for the area. The only annoying thing is that in the open area you are greeted with cigarette smoke coming from left and right. Maybe a separate smoking area? I am an asparagus fan and love the Classico with pork schnitzel. The schnitzel was OK but borderline too dry. The quality of the asparagus was good, but it was too short in the water and was still much too hard. Prepared to have a somewhat neutral taste. The hollandaise was way too thick for me, it only tasted like mayonnaise and it was hard on top and looked like it had been taken from the fridge. It could be stuff like that from the package, I'm not sure. But it wasn't that great. My melted butter was really liquid butter from the pot, I don't know how to say it like oil and I didn't eat it either. I know it with breadcrumbs in the pan and then over the asparagus. I don't want to rate it, it's just not my thing. My dish was called "Asparagus with potatoes and pork schnitzel". My potatoes were 1.5 mini potatoes. Practically nothing. Overall, OK, if you're hungry, but for a visit to a restaurant and 26 euros per dish, as an asparagus eater, I didn't find it convincing. Still, nice people and definitely better next time.

Beautiful place with a calm atmosphere. Guests eat their meals in the Biergarten leisurely, drink drinks, and the staff also works at a similar pace. You need to have some time to eat there. By the way, the food is very ok - good local cuisine based on, among others, on deliciously prepared asparagus in various forms.

A real insider tip! The Alte Mühle in Friedersdorf impresses with super delicious food that not only tastes fantastic, but also keeps you full for a long time - with absolutely reasonable portions and prices. I can recommend the delicious wild garlic puree with bacon beans and beef roulade. Particularly likeable: Our dog was also welcome in the restaurant. We received a friendly welcome - which is unfortunately no longer a given these days. The service staff was extremely friendly, attentive and warm, which made us feel completely comfortable. A place to enjoy – we would love to come back!

Wrong amount on the bill, sometimes in favor of the guest, sometimes not; Eat so-so, if you like seasoning, you will be satisfied; have often been there because of accessibility, but have now found a better alternative with friendlier people and more spices in the food; You can still sit outside and listen to the neighbors' conversations inside when you have nothing more to say to each other ;-) or when things are just getting interesting there

Nice staff, great atmosphere. Recommended in itself. Unfortunately the food wasn't the burner. Fries were only lukewarm, the steak was super thin. A little tip: put a small plate for the lemon so that you don't have the lemon squeezer on the plate the whole time. So I would say, broadly average.

We spontaneously went to eat here because we actually wanted to go somewhere else and then discovered this place via Google. So we had no expectations, but in the end we were completely thrilled. The service was very accommodating and super friendly. The wish hadn't even been thought of yet, so we were already asked about it. The food, in our case the half duck, the ribs and the mayor au four, could not be beaten in terms of quality and taste. I've never eaten so well before. The crowning finale was the Kaiserschmarrn, which was also a true composition for the palate. I can't rave enough about how much joy and well-being we had after this visit. At the latest when it's sunny and warm outside again, we'll be back so we can take advantage of the beautiful terrace. We really thank you very much for this unforgettable culinary experience! Great ambience with a fireplace. The upper level with an open middle gives the whole thing a great flair. The food is very tasty and the selection is completely sufficient. There doesn't have to be 40 dishes, rather fewer and deliciously prepared. We'll be back.

The restaurant in the mill is very nice. However, we were disappointed with the food. The schnitzel tasted too much like fat, the fries were baked so hard that you could hardly chew them. The duck was good, but the sauce with it was less tasty.

The place is very nice, as is the ambience. Unfortunately the food was rather mediocre. It was the fat/oil. The fries were baked rather than fried. They didn't taste satisfactory because of the old fat. Likewise the meat. It was a very large, decent piece of meat/schnitzel...a shame. The sauce was great. The salmon was a little too salty. The service could also be a little friendlier.

2023: I just ate a "Steak ou Four". Perfect, tasty and the plate was ideally covered for the price! We'll be back! Can recommend it 100%! 2024: Still TOP after several years! Staff first class. I can't complain. Keep it up. . . .

We always enjoy coming here. The food tastes good. The menu is adapted to the season. When it's warm outside, you can eat and drink at the wine-covered mill. In winter it's cozy by the fireplace.

I was there twice, in a smaller group, at a greater distance because I was appalled by the service the first time. Unfortunately, both times it was really underground (unfriendly, listless, not committed). Longer waiting time until someone even came and asked for the drinks. It's a shame, such a great atmosphere there and the food was good too. Price (food) performance okay. We were there for the first time and immediately became a fan. The super friendly ladies who hosted us, the delicious food and, last but not least, the beautifully restored old mill. All in all just great.

I was with friends on November 11th. to the St. Martin's goose there. Very, very tasty! There were four of us. A brown, crispy goose that was cut open at the table by the friendly waitress. A bowl of super delicious green and red cabbage, potatoes, bread dumplings and dumplings, plus a great sauce! A feast! The service and the boss were very friendly and competent. The restaurant is very nice. Lovingly restored and cozy! Totally recommended!!! We would love to come back!

The restaurant is in a very quiet location and looks super cozy both inside and out! Unfortunately we were now sitting in the doorway area, where you couldn't feel the feeling of the old mill. The food was generally good. One criticism would be that the Hollandaise sauce was most likely a finished product, which is something I would wish were different from a good restaurant. The burgers were cold and the sauerkraut with the knuckle was unfortunately not edible due to all the salt. Even if you squinted a few times while eating, it was still a successful evening.

The schnitzel was hard, the fried trout was bland and quite small, the potatoes were dried on the outside and not warm/hot. We waited a long time for our food and perhaps it sat there for a long time before it was brought to us. No recommendation

Nachdem wir das erste mal Anfang Oktober Abend gegessen hatten und sehr angetan von Lokation & Essen waren, wollten wir es ein zweites Mal genießen. Leider wich die Qualität der Speisen enorm gegenüber unserem ersten Besuch ab. Die bestellte Ente (24€) war stark übergart und zerfiel komplett auf dem Teller. Man bekam kein Stück Fleisch auf die Gabel. Es gab dazu einen Klecks Soße, Rotkohl ( hat gut geschmeckt) und zu stark gebratene Serviettenknödel. Die Kruste war teilweise verbrannt. Bei meiner Partnerin ihrer Speise waren die Pilze total versalzen und das Brot total hart ( zu lange angeröstet). Die Kellnerin argumentierte, das es viele Köche gäbe und jeder bereitet das Essen anders zu. Was für ein Quatsch - Dann weiss man also nie was man zu essen bekommt. Das es minimal anders gewürzt sein kann ist logisch, aber die Qualität der Speisen darf nicht schwanken. Es gab weder eine wirkliche Entschuldigung noch ein Schnaps aufs Haus. Das war für uns das zweite und letzte Mal das wir dort essen waren.

We ate catfish with mashed potatoes and leeks/apple vegetables and ox cheeks with Brussels sprouts/almonds. The fish was exceptionally good. Crispy on the outside and buttery on the inside. This is Michelin star worthy without exaggeration. The atmosphere is beautiful, the staff is so friendly, you really are a guest here and are lovingly looked after. Highly recommended, we will be back, thanks to the team for the wonderful evening. ❤️

Went to this lovely restaurant on our boat trip. Service and quality were top. The daily recommendation was the best catfish I have ever eaten.

Very cozy, nice atmosphere, interesting development, from a mill to a restaurant. I ordered Viennese Backhändel (chicken leg), unfortunately the chicken meat came in a thick breading and was also baked in the deep fryer, so it was very greasy. Breading tasted like fries and old fat. Then unfortunately there was no Snickers ice cream, and neither was second choice Rafaello. It's a shame it had to happen to me of all people, the birthday child. Service was nice, also due to the many guests over two floors.

A beautiful location and the service was friendly and quick. However, the food left a lot to be desired. The garlic bread had just thawed and was therefore cold and soggy inside and the champions with the schnitzel were totally watery instead of creamy (probably from a jar or can). Too bad!

Food doesn't taste good. Wiener Schnitzel resembled a cutlet. Pork cheeks taste like nothing Side dish of carrots frozen food tasted delicious. Wasn't fresh. Were there in the spring and all the food was very good. At the moment I can no longer recommend this restaurant.

Very nice outdoor seating. We were looking forward to a cozy evening with good food but were unfortunately very disappointed. Just briefly in Telegram style. -Rose wine 25 degrees from the shelf -Beer warm -Canned seasoned meat -Matjes gray from the pack (it was matjes weeks) -Matchy salad -The waiter asked if it was tasty, we said no and before we could tell the next guests what went wrong, he disappeared. So never ever again the outdoor seating was the only positive thing.!!!!

The mill is a very impressive building which gives the beer garden a special atmosphere. The food is very tasty and the value for money is definitely reasonable. Although it's completely true, everything from ordering to appetizers to eating went very quickly. A great restaurant that we happily recommend!

The herring was great! It could have been the schnitzel and the trout if they hadn't stood together in the oven for 15 minutes because the service or the kitchen neglected to prepare them as second courses. Now you ask yourself, what does a chef think a guest will think when he gets a dry, bitter trout with lukewarm potatoes or a lukewarm, savory schnitzel - which smells like fish - with stale fries? This had an absolutely amateurish level of hospitality

Unfortunately, we were greeted very unfriendly by the blonde, short-haired service person. At first we were shown to our seats with annoyed gestures. When we asked if we could sit in a shady place, our eyes rolled and we were offered another table. The restaurant wasn't very busy, so it really shouldn't be an issue. When the drink was taken, the response to a question was again stroppy. Actually you should have gotten up and left. But since we were very hungry, we endured it after I told the lady to please serve her guests a little more friendly. The food was okay, but not great either. Overall, I wouldn't want to come here again. A good location not only scores with good food, but also with friendly service so that the guest feels welcome. Friendly goes everywhere! Very nice historical location, quick service, great beer garden. The dish was very tasty, but craftsmen wouldn't really get full here, and the portions were rather medium-sized. Still a full 5 stars.

Since we come from the Spreewald, we were very impressed with the mill. There is nothing comparable with us. Very friendly STAFF. Menu is highly recommended. Thank you for the excellent service.

Were there today. Discovered by chance due to the unusual location. Nice ambience, prices, like everywhere else these days, are quite high. We ate the classic: asparagus with schnitzel. Very tasty in itself, but the meat could have been from the pan. Unfortunately this was prepared in the hairdresser. The homemade iced tea was very tasty. Update: Thanks for the reply. Then I apologize for the insinuation. But from the feel of it, it wasn't a freshly breaded piece of meat.

Location very nice. The starter promised so much because it was so delicious. But the main course, e.g. Wiener Schnitzel is way too small with 4 croquettes at an exorbitant price. Steak au four was also much too small, with tons of inedible seasoned meat on top. A pity. Service very friendly.
