Quaint really hut-like atmosphere inside with the thick tree growing through the roof. Beer garden also very atmospheric. Delicious and plentiful dishes.

Since the restaurant is in the middle of the forest, we always had something from the birch trees on our plates or in our drinks. The food was okay except for the vegetables, which were still a bit firm to the bite. Staff super nice and polite.

Very quaint restaurant with a very friendly waiter. We didn't make a reservation but went there spontaneously to eat. We were “sandwiched in between”. What luck, whoever came after us unfortunately had to be sent away because of the reservations. That's why a reservation is recommended. Because rightly so, it is usually full here. We had delicious schnitzel, fresh beer and a moor witch as a nightcap

Directly on the Steinhuder Meer. Rustic, delicious German cuisine. In summer outside under shady trees. Long waiting time. I waited 25 minutes for a savoy cabbage soup. Nice and friendly service.

First impression was great. Staff was friendly. But the food doesn't deserve any stars. Were there with 12 people. 1 child had to vomit and my daughter suffered from stomach pain. I ordered the currywurst. Since I work in the catering industry myself, I know what a currywurst looks like when it is grilled or fried. Assume it was at least an hour old and was just being warmed up. I won't eat here anymore

Very good food. Had a schnitzel with Rostini, this combination alone 🤩, and chanterelle cream sauce...it was a little more expensive but worth every cent.

The service is great, that has to be mentioned, as this has become a rarity these days. When it comes to eating, I can only rate the dessert and it was great. Nice, cozy interior. Outside, it's all about nature. 😉

Every time we visit Mardorf, we stop at the old moor hut. Whether outdoors or indoors...both are beautiful. The food was always very good and the service was friendly and quick. The price/performance ratio is reasonable. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Nice restaurant in the forest. Reservation was necessary. But you can certainly sit outside without a reservation if you're lucky. Tasty food and good value for money. The only drawback is the not so clean toilets, which need to be cleaned every now and then due to the many guests.

We discovered the hut by chance by bike and stopped for a small snack and a shandy/Alster. The service was super nice, the cheesecake was really tasty (although expensive, €4.20 a small piece) and the fried potatoes with fried eggs were awesome! Yes, it's actually sad that such a simple dish has to be praised so highly, but since the chef there knows his craft, I'm happy to do so! (It's become really rare and a big compliment to the kitchen at this point!) Well, €5.80 for a 0.5l Radler/Alster is really too expensive for me, but unfortunately it's the going price. "Little tip" if it cost €4, I would definitely have drunk two! It's really nice to sit outside and it's very comfortable inside, but the toilets are getting old. I can only recommend the hut.

Super tasty, very nice staff. Gladly again at any time 😊 I had creamed savoy cabbage with fresh chanterelles and tagliatelle and my wife had a currywurst (from straw pig). I was allowed to try a bite and you could tell that it wasn't frozen currywurst. The consistency and taste were very tasty 😋

Super tasty dishes. Top service, although at this point I would like to give a big PRAISE to the waiter (according to the bill, Mr. Daniel served us) who had everything under control outside, kept a complete overview and was still friendly despite the fact that it was very full (Saturday, 01.06.24 between 6 and 7:30 p.m.). We had to wait until a table became available and then we got the food, but that didn't bother us. When we made a reservation request by phone, we were told that it was full and no more tables could be accepted, but that we would be allowed to wait if we were lucky. While we were waiting for a free table, an older couple came (also without a reservation). I asked the couple if they would sit at a table with us so that they didn't have to wait any longer, as the table we were given was for 4-5 people. It's a shame that other guests are stubborn and don't act like we did, even though the tables were big enough. The food was also great and the price was ok. One star deducted from the ambience because of the toilets! But we'll still come back because everything else was perfect.

Delicious German home cooking with a real tree in the dining room. A great experience. (Unfortunately there is no longer a guest jetty on the lake side.)

The food was plentiful and tasted excellent and the prices were reasonable. Big compliments to the kitchen. Service was quick and very friendly, even though the outdoor area was busy. A very idyllic place to stay. The journey was definitely worth it and we will definitely come back.

Even though I was alone and the Mooshütte was busy both inside and outside, I was served quickly and friendly. My fried potatoes with fried eggs were plentiful and very tasty 😋. Always my pleasure.

Sorry, doesn't work at all. You call in the afternoon and want to book a table for 7 p.m., and you are dismissed with the words, "Let's not come over like that!" At 6:55 p.m. you stand directly in front of the waitress and are asked: Have you made a reservation? Tell me, do you want to piss off the customers? It doesn't work at all!

The atmosphere in the middle of the forest and right on the bike path is wonderful. We didn't eat. Service could be nicer. But I think it's due to the guests, some of whom weren't very easy to get along with 🫣.

A visit to the old moor hut is a must on every holiday in Mardorf. The food tastes good and even if the hut is full inside and out, the service is quick with a new drink at the table. There is plenty of parking space. We hope this restaurant will be around forever. We recommend.

We sat outside. Unfortunately very uncomfortable outside, lots of mosquitoes! Unfortunately, it is not possible to sit comfortably. Unfortunately one meal didn't taste good at all. It wasn't seasoned at all and tasted like it had been warmed up. Very unfortunate. The other meal, a Viennese style schnitzel, was ok.

We got a table with a dog at short notice on Easter Sunday at lunchtime. Beautiful cabin with a lovely tree through the roof and rustic feel. Nice service, home-style cooking, large portions, great woodruff cake. 😊 Highly recommended!

Great place to stop for a break on the cycle path around the Steinhuder Meer. The food came super quickly and tasted good, but the toilets are a no go.

Unfortunately the fish was only frozen and fried far too long. The sauce disguised the partially cold food. A pity. The side dishes and the salad and dressing were delicious.

The old moor hut is the only alternative in March, but it is also really the best alternative if you have stayed in a beach hotel. The beach hotel currently doesn't have a kitchen in the evening, but that certainly doesn't mean it should be rated negatively. The old moor hut is in an idyllic location in the wooded moor landscape right on the water. A small, rustic, cozy and rustic guest room invites you to enjoy good home-style cuisine, extremely tasty and sufficient. Totally okay in terms of price. You can go here! In the photos is the pot aspic and the Camembert.

was our second home from 77 to 85, coming from Hanover. Six months ago, coming from Baden-Württemberg, once again by the sea and of course twice in the moor hut. Still great there. Ambience, service and food are great. On March 15th, 2024 I was alone in Hanover in the morning and went out to the Moorhütte specifically to eat. I wasn't disappointed. It was great class again. Me and my Hanoverian girlfriend like the shop. I hope that the Moorhütte continues to exist in its inimitable style for many excursions and sailors. If you only want to eat in the multi-star restaurants in Baiersbronn in Baden-Würtemberg, I like the Moorhütte better. And I also know the other multi-star restaurants there. Keep it up.

Nice stop after a wintry day by the sea

Went for a bike ride around the sea today. Stopped here around lunchtime and had a delicious meal. The service was very quick and friendly and the atmosphere is simply rustic.

Alles superlecker. Die Vorsuppe (Lachscremesuppe) hatte ordentlich Lachs und das Steak (vom regionalen Fleischer) war sensationell. So etwas Schmackvolles selten gehabt. Der Service war sehr nett, aufmerksam und nicht aufdringlich! Wir waren das erste Mal da - und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder :-)

Wir sind gestern dort mit einer größeren Gruppe eingekehrt. Das Personal war freundlich und der Service schnell. Das Essen kam sehr schnell, und wir haben quer durch die Karte bestellt. Das Essen kam bei fast allen sehr gut an. Warum man sich dann nicht auf die Frage vom Service, ob alles okay ist meldet und stattdessen eine schlechte Bewertung abgibt ist mir ein Rätsel. Wir kommen definitiv im Sommer wieder.

Waren heute mit vielen Personen (Feier) in der Moorhütte. Ich hatte das Zanderfilet bestellt und war mehr als nur enttäuscht. Es war knochenhart und man konnte es nicht schneiden und nur sehr schwer essen. Ich hätte es auch nicht aufgegessen, wenn ich nicht so hungrig gewesen wäre und beschweren wollte ich mich bei so einer Feier auch nicht. Sehr schade :-(

Gemütliche Ausflugsgastätte. Ein Baum steht mitten im Lokal. Man kann im Sommer sehr gut draußen sitzen. Sehr freundliche Bedienungen. Gutes Essen. Empfehlenswert.

Ein Muss am Steinhuder Meer! Wir sind noch nie enttäuscht worden.

Tolle Einkehrstube nach einer Wanderung/Rad-Wassertour/Spaziergang oder einfach so.Auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert.Die Speisen/Kuchen/Kaffee-Michkaffe(schön heiß, bekommt man selten)waren sehr lecker. Und besonders lecker war das Rührei(FRISCHE EIER,KEIN VOLLEI aus der Tüte) mit Shrimps.Nettes Personal und Hunde sind auch Willkommen.Kommen gerne wieder und empfehlen die Moorhütte gerne weiter.

Wir sind hier nach 5 Jahren im Rahmen unseres jährlichen Patenonkel-Urlaubs das zweite Mal hier und wie damals absolut begeistert - die zwei kleinen wie die drei großen Jungs. 😃👍🏻 Die Moorhütte liegt wunderbar in der bewaldeten Moorlandschaft des Steinhuder Meers, direkt am Seeufer und entlang eines tollen Moorwanderpfads - sehr idyllisch. Genauso wie die Lage ist auch das Ambiente im Inneren: idyllisch und rustikal - einfach einladend. 🤩 Die Wirtsleute sind einfach wunderbar, sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und absolut auf Zack! 👍🏻🥰 Sogar mit Hund ist man hier herzlich willkommen. 🐶 Wer auf der tollen Speisekarte nix findet, ist selbst schuld und hat keinen Geschmack! Große Portionen deutscher Hausmannskost und typische regionale Gerichte sind hier gleichermaßen vertreten, sagenhaft und frisch zubereitet und das alles zu mehr als fairen Preisen! 💪🏻 Die Jungs hatten Schnitzel mit Pommes, der Papa und ein Patenonkel die Moorhüttenpfanne und der andere Patenonkel die Currywurst mit Pommes - alles großartig!!! 🤤 Wie schon beim ersten Besuch gehen wir auch heute wieder satt und glücklich nach Hause! 😉 Wir sagen DANKE und weiter so! 🫶🏻😎

Wir kommen gerne in die "Alte Moorhütte". Haben schon einige Gerichte der Karte gegessen und waren bisher immer zufrieden.

Hier am ersten Abend unseres Urlaubs zu essen war die absolut richtige Entscheidung! Wunderschönes Ambiente was man so wohl kaum wo anders findet. Das Essen war perfekt, die richtige portions Größe und ein fairer Preis. Die Tomaten Creme Suppe war köstlich und meine Bratkartoffeln mit Spiegelei perfekt kross und schön angerichtet. Immer wieder gerne!

Wir sind am Samstag vom SP zum Alten Moorhaus gewandert. Vorher per Mail reserviert. Was auch gut war. Essen war so lecker und sehr freundliches Personal. Wir hatten einen Hund dabei. War kein Problem. 👍 Wenn wir wieder in Mardorf sind besuchen wir natürlich wieder die Alte Moorhüte.

Waren Heute Mittag spontan dort. Wundervolles Ambiente Mitten im Wald. Eine große Eiche ist im Gastraum integriert, was ein uriges, wohliges Gefühl vermittelt. Die Bedienung war sehr nett und aufmerksam. Es war sehr gemütlich. Und was soll ich sagen, das Essen war der Hammer. Gemüse knackig, das Fleisch auf den Punkt gebraten, die Bratkartoffeln ein Gedicht. Und die Vorsuppe ein Wirsingsüppchen war eine kleine Geschmacksexplosion. Vielen vielen Dank für den wundervollen Aufenthalt. Wir kommen gern wieder.

Sehr schöne Waldhütte mit einer tollen alten Eiche im Gastraum. Essen sehr lecker, direkt am Ufer des Steinhuder Meeres (ca. 100 m).

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und es ging auch sehr schnell, bis unsere Essen da war. Das Essen war wirklich lecker und vom Preis völlig angemessen. Leider war mein Steak nicht medium sondern well done, schade.

War gut, ist gut, bleibt gut. Nach einem ordentlichen Segeltag gibt es am "Teich" keinen besseren Ort. Die Moorhütten-Pfanne bleibt das Nonplusultra für hungrige Segler.

Sehr beliebte kleine Hütte. Am Wochenende sollte man einen Platz reservieren !!

Gutes Essen zum erschwinglichen Preis. Netter Service. Essen war trotz voller Auslastung schnell am Tisch. Gerne mal wieder.

Wir hatten heute eine sehr freundliche Bedienung und ein extrem leckeres Essen "Fischpfanne". Die Bratkartoffeln waren genau so wie ich sie mag :-) Klare Empfehlung!

Tolles und uriges Lokal mit schönem Biergarten, auch das Preis - Leistungsverhältnis ist angemessen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich auch bei voller Hütte. 😊😊

Ich kann die zum Teil schlechten Bewertungen in keiner Weise nachvollziehen. Wir waren während unseres Aufenthaltes am Steinhuder Meer zweimal Gast in der Alten Moorhütte. Jeder unserer Wünsche wurde zur unseren vollsten Zufriedenheit erfüllt. Einzig zu bemängeln sind Gäste, die nicht verstehen, dass eine Reservierung hilfreich sein kann, um einen Tisch zum Speisen vorzufinden. Da ist es nicht angebracht, wenn man minutenlang auf der Terrasse steht und der Servicekraft im Weg steht, um gierig auf bezahlende Gäste zu warten. Ein resolutes Durchgreifen des Personal kann ich hier sehr gut nach vollziehen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Nach der Wanderung auf gut Glück dort eingekehrt. Alle Speisen lecker zubereitet. Preis Leistung ist gut.
