Very good food. Friendly service. In winter you sit inside and it smells a bit like fish. But that's just the way it is. Otherwise everything is very good.

The ambience and service are really good

The place and the lake are beautiful. I just have no idea why there have to be several large fish slumbering around in a cordoned-off area of ​​water no larger than 16 square meters.

Really very nice atmosphere. Unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not right. For a dish that costs around €25, I expect that I'll get a bit full from it. Personally, I think a small piece of fish served with some vegetables and a sliced ​​potato on the side is not enough. Two or three more potatoes on the plate would not have missed their place. The waitress could also do some work on herself and at least seem like she enjoys her job.

Hello, I'm just thrilled with this old fishery. We got there late in the evening and got lost in our motorhome. We received a very warm welcome and the boss himself provided us with a parking space right on the water for an overnight stay so that we could relax and eat well. I will never forget this view and the hospitality. Thanks for that and it's nice that there's sooooo much more. You should all find out for yourself, so let's go🤗🤗🤗🫠👌

We were greeted by very friendly staff in this comfortably furnished restaurant. You sit with a wonderful view of the water and are served food that is very good value for money. There is a wide range of options on the menu, especially for fish lovers. We'll definitely be back! Thank you for the hospitality and the friendly service. Unfortunately, this is no longer a given these days. Since there aren't that many places, we would recommend making a reservation in advance or you'll be lucky like us ;-)

Lots of sun, beautiful views and lots of customers. Work where others go on vacation or weekends. What more could you want?

We have been here several times, most recently on August 24th, 2024 for our wedding anniversary. The food always impresses us and the waiter is very friendly. With the view over the lake you can really enjoy the food.

Delicious fish sandwich, the older lady with short hair at the counter was unfortunately very unfriendly, therefore 1 point deducted.

Favorite restaurant by the lake

Quaint restaurant in the style of an old fishing hut, fitting the name, located directly on the lake. The menu consists of, who would have thought, fish. The staff warm, friendly, just nice.

(Because of new information from August 26th, 2024, be sure to see the ADDENDUM at the end of this post!!) My wife and I were again in the “Alte Fischer” restaurant on August 29th, 2021 and were very satisfied again this time. The selection of very good fish dishes (see some pictures below from left to right: 1. starter with herring, Bismarck herring and salmon on salad; 2. redfish gratinated with sheep's cheese and garlic; 3. vendace with pan-fried vegetables) is large and the prices are very pleasing. The staff is friendly, relaxed, competent and provides expert advice on all questions relating to the food. A special reason for boat owners (see below) to go here is the mooring facilities right at and in front of the house. The striking reed roof is clearly visible from the lake, making it easy to find the restaurant. The view of the lake from the tables on the terrace is also very beautiful, especially when the sun goes down in the evening. This time we had to escape to the restaurant because a very heavy rain shower made it impossible to sit and enjoy on the terrace. The staff also managed this challenge masterfully. There is a large selection of smoked fish and other fish products to eat afterwards. We'll definitely be happy to come back!!! - ADDENDUM - Everything that is in this post still applies without restriction!!! UNFORTUNATELY it is no longer possible to dock your own ship directly at the restaurant. Due to "guest complaints" that they no longer had a "clear view" of the lake, only very, very small boats are now allowed to moor directly at the restaurant. This means greater inconvenience for us, as our ship is difficult to secure against access by third parties. The solution to the problem offered to us is practical, but the bottom line is that it is simply suboptimal! It's a shame. For the restaurant's sake, we hope that not too many captains are put off by the new practices.

It was our first time there and we have to say we will definitely come back.

Restaurant (08.2024) Nice look, but the price is rather high, so only 1 star for the taste. + Dill sauce was tasteless, rather floury, + Romanesco was so hard that we needed an extra knife + mustard sauce a bit sour, Kiosk (2022) 5 stars for the food Fish soup very tasty. Fish sandwiches too. Tried several.

A terrace almost on Lake Werbellin, a rich selection of fish dishes, served by attentive service. We ate fried eel, which is very rarely found on menus.

Rustic gem in Altenhof on Werbellinsee. Opposite the well-known Fontane Hotel is the fish smokehouse with restaurant. The fisherman's cottage stands on stilts in the water and offers a unique ambience. But the menu is also impressive and also offers alternatives for guests who don't like fish. The dishes now have their price, but are not overpriced. A visit is worth it. If you want to be sure to find one of the coveted seats, you should make a reservation. Otherwise, longer waiting times for enjoyment cannot be ruled out.

We were passing through and just wanted to have a drink and a sweet dessert in the afternoon. We were happy to get a table right by the water. The location is really very nice. We ordered coffee and apple pie. The cake was frozen and was apparently warmed up in the same device where fish or other dishes are prepared. We've never had such a bad apple pie. Yes, you are a seafood restaurant, which is apparently the reason for the frozen food, according to the service. But if you only have one cake on the menu, then either buy high-quality frozen goods or, even better, from a bakery in the area. Or don't offer cake at all. Unfortunately the coffee wasn't good either. Maybe we'll eat fish again at your place and I'll correct this review then.

The only reason to go there is the terrace! Unfortunately, the quality of the food and the selection do not do the place justice. There is clearly a lack of competition here! But the fish sandwiches at the kiosk are delicious.

It's a really beautiful piece of earth, here at Werbelinsee. The "Alte Fischer" is located directly on the lake and you sit on a very beautiful wooden terrace directly above the water. The food is beautifully prepared and tastes very good. The staff is very attentive and extremely friendly. We always enjoy coming here.

We ordered a few fish rolls (butterfish variety) and a fish soup, both of which were very tasty and we enjoyed the view of Lake Werbellin while we ate. There was a paid parking lot just in front of the restaurant, but it was quite cheap. Full recommendation!

The food was very, very good and this fish soup is awesome! Even our children wanted more. The waitress was very attentive, had hair on her teeth, but was okay! Our daughter also ordered a cucumber salad, which unfortunately didn't come and the additional fries I ordered also came much later, but the fries are also very tasty and flavorful... expensive, but that's the case everywhere :-/ We quickly forget what was forgotten here, but on the whole we are very satisfied.

If I had been the man, I would have slapped her... the smoked eel, which she didn't want, flew in a high arc onto his plate. You could certainly have asked which smoked fish was on the salad. We ate a very tasty fish sandwich in the snack bar, highly recommended. The only thing that should be given another customer orientation course is the lady behind the refrigerated counter. Your customer communication felt more like a journey through time...

We've been here twice now and always loved it. You can sit beautifully on the terrace directly on the water and let your gaze wander into the distance. The service is super attentive and nice. I would recommend a reservation, the restaurant is busy and the nice seats on the terrace always go quickly. The toilets are also great, new and always clean (despite being busy). The fish was super tasty and the side dishes were all great too. I still think €5.50 for cucumber salad is too expensive, but it was delicious 😊. Only the drinks have room for improvement, too warm and not enough carbon dioxide. But that's the only downer. As you leave, you can take freshly smoked fish with you to take home. What more could you want… 😋

As a matter of tradition, we always go to the Alte Fischer when we are in Werbellin. So far we have never been disappointed. But this time very much. My husband had perch with carrots and potatoes. The carrots were cold and there wasn't enough sauce. I had the salad with smoked fish. The only smoked fish was eel. The salad consisted mainly of iceberg lettuce, the sauce was tasteless and totally watered down. I had to order bread separately. If I had known beforehand that smoked fish was limited to eel, I would never have ordered this dish. And the food is also overpriced. The only nice thing is the view. Never again. It's better to eat fried fish at the snack bar.

Even though it was probably the hottest day, visiting this restaurant was very pleasant.

Food was delicious last time. We wanted to stop there yesterday and asked if we could go in please. She said in a not really friendly tone that it wasn't possible. She had to leave it free inside so that she could let the guests in outside when it rained. You understand, but there are weather reports, there was no sign of rain. Quite nice because of the great location on the lake. Very busy. The fish sandwiches offered outside (long queues are to be planned) taste just like anywhere else.

After a lovely hike by the lake, my stomach was rumbling, so I was looking forward to a fresh fried fish sandwich. However, the fish was fried far too short, was soggy and not even lukewarm. Nocturnal intestinal problems followed immediately. I later discovered on the noticeboard that the majority of the fish on offer doesn't even come close to coming from the region. Salmon from Chile, vendace from Iceland, pangasius from Vietnam and all sorts of other disgusting things from polluted aquacultures. The lady at the counter (I really have to bite my teeth with the wording here) seemed to be in a bad mood. Attention, customer threatens to place an order! I wanted to pay the almost €6 with a €20 note. That was probably asking too much. At the absolute tourist hotspot at the start of the holiday with great weather, the necessary change was missing. A bit sad how unprepared you can be. The thalers were then “lovingly” slapped onto the counter. The only positive thing to note is the beautiful view of the lake. Once and never again! Fortunately, there are enough alternatives.

Can't say anything about the location because we didn't have the opportunity to park with the motorcycle. Parking prohibited for motorcycles. For that reason we won't make a second attempt. It's a shame.

The best thing about the restaurant is the ambience right on the lake at sunset. The fish selection is plentiful. Access and parking is a bit tricky. Unfortunately the price/performance ratio has gotten out of hand.

Great place, it doesn't matter that much if the staff makes you wait and isn't particularly friendly. The food was very good but not very cheap.

With bright sunshine and a view of the Werbelinsee, you can relax and then eat cod fillet with herb butter and side dishes or pike-perch fillet with herb butter and side dishes and a freshly tapped beer, which is a good way to relax after a hike, highly recommended .

This restaurant is located directly in Altenhof on the Werbellinsee. It is a very well-visited place with a steamboat pier, hotel, weight training garden, ice cream parlor and much more. Only parking spaces are a problem. At least you have to pay it at the hotel.

Very nice place, right on the water. There is no parking space for motorcyclists, which is a shame. The prices are also quite high, for a mini potato pancake with salmon 9.90, I thought it was steep. Otherwise everything is fresh and good.

Beware of parking rip-offs from the local hotel

The location is really great, and the house itself is a beautiful thatched wooden house. Unfortunately, the food is not good - especially considering the high prices. The lukewarm fish was accompanied by canned carrots and a pudding-like sauce. We liked the fish soup, we would have been happy if there had been more than a “tasting ladle” for 7.50. One star for the location and one star for our waiter.

Direkt am See - im Sommer bei schönem Wetter gute Adresse! Fisch war lecker… als Zwischenstopp auf der Durchreise einen kleinen Umweg von der A11 wehrt!

A beautiful place, you sit directly above the lake. If the food were even remotely similar... Cod baked with sheep's cheese sounded good. The fish was small and mushy in consistency, the onions in the middle were biting and the ones on top with the cheese were almost black. Plus a piece of baguette and some carrot salad, all for €25, incredible. The trout my husband got was pink on the inside and dark on the outside and very fatty.

LOCATION TOP Terrace by the water well attended, but not full Weather great Cook flop, As a starter we ordered fish soup (€7.50) and smoked salmon (€9.90) on potato pancakes. Soup was returned because it was cold!!!! Smoked salmon on a mini pancake, well, that's how it went. Horseradish was missing, came after request. As main dish Shrimp (200g), cold!!! and without taste (27.50€) My husband had fried fish fillet (€22.50) with canned carrots!!!, and 2 cold potatoes. Something like that is absolutely not possible, stress or not. We know about the difficulties in the catering industry but at least the service was quick and very friendly.

We actually wanted to go out for a delicious meal while passing through. There are parking bans or completely overpriced parking spaces throughout the town, which of course were completely empty. In the big city I was able to park my car cheaper in the underground car park. Please pass this criticism on to your local municipality.

We have been regular guests at this restaurant. The atmosphere right on the beautiful Werbellinsee is great. If you get a seat, you can sit at a table on a kind of jetty and enjoy the landscape + sun. The service is available at any time and is available immediately. Respect what the nice waiters do there. Unfortunately, we found that the quality of the food had deteriorated significantly. The broccoli was cold, but the carrots were overcooked, the fish soup was "watery" and you had to look for the fish in it, the fish as the main course was charred... The prices are in the upper range. A large cola costs EUR 6.00 and the fish costs around EUR 25.00. But quality is to be expected for this. This leaves us conflicted and we don't know if we'll come back. Somehow you get the feeling that there are enough tourists there anyway...

We went based on a recommendation and were really happy. The prices on the menu were adjusted to the food. However, once we saw the plates, our jaws dropped. The fish on the grill plate was very clear and the frozen vegetables were cold. The butter mackerel was present in trace elements. The fish was good but at 55 euros for the plate it was simply excessive
