The ambiance and menu are homely, but a bit more comfort could be appreciated. After waiting almost two hours for our food (soup arrived earlier), we were extremely disappointed with the presentation. While the portions were adequate, the presentation was very poor and uncreative. The taste was okay, but one guest's meal was not. There was no apology for the late dinner. All in all, disappointing. The waitress was quite friendly, but the stress was noticeable. Since this was an invitation-only experience, we refrained from criticizing the place.

A rare, high-quality, traditional German restaurant. Professional service, excellent organization, and a lack of hustle and bustle, even when all the tables are booked. The quality and preparation of the food is excellent (hunter's schnitzel, rumsteck forester's soup, wedding soup). We'd gladly return!

Food: I ordered the meatballs with fried potatoes and red cabbage. Unfortunately, the meatballs were too salty and therefore inedible. The fried potatoes and red cabbage were okay, but still lacked flavor. Service: The service was neither friendly nor unfriendly. However, at this price point, I expect at least a tendency toward the former. Atmosphere: The outdoor seating is idyllic and also offers a pleasing view of the meadow. However, if you don't like mice under and next to the dining table, you should avoid the outdoor area.

Wauligmann is an old-fashioned German restaurant, just as you'd imagine it. Rustic ambiance, lovely outdoor terrace, down-to-earth German cuisine, and friendly staff. You won't be disappointed. There's just a little room for improvement for vegetarians and vegans. You wouldn't necessarily expect that here, but you'll always find someone with dietary restrictions.

The service staff are polite, cheerful, and unobtrusive. They deserve special praise because, even when the restaurant is often completely full, they have a smile on their faces without appearing stressed. Such employees are worth their weight in gold, especially in this industry. Dining at the Wauligmann restaurant is a pleasure, and we can recommend it with a clear conscience. For that alone, 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ The food tastes fresh and is very well prepared. Nothing is overcooked, and the chef is also accommodating to special requests. So you can be sure that it's not being prepared until you place your order. The menu is varied, with something for every taste. We and our little dog are always assigned a quiet seat.

Good food and really friendly service. The ambiance also fits the overall concept. The only thing that could be improved is the selection of vegetarian dishes. I don't live nearby, so it's possible there simply isn't a demand for vegetarian food in the area. However, I would choose a different location with a larger selection next time I'm in the area.

A good menu with tried-and-true and new creations. If you don't find something to suit your taste buds here, you probably won't find it anywhere else. Quaint old German restaurant. Certainly one of the best kitchens in Münsterland. Owner-managed! Here the guest is still welcome and reordering is possible without any problems. A rarity.. 😊

It's nice that the boss organized a table for me and my 101-year-old mother, despite the full house! The Cordon Blue was great, filled with really good cheese (no slices), the breading was crispy, the meat was good. Mother's wedding soup was also very tasty. It's nice that, in addition to the “flat” Bitburger beer, there is also Potts Landbier. The waiter was humorous, the waitress rather emotionless. The ambience of the dining room with fireplace is wonderful. Joy also arises when you think about the coming summer with the beer garden in the back. Conclusion: Wauligmann is always the first choice for home-style food - with high quality!

The food on Easter Monday was excellent, the asparagus was cooked perfectly, the hollandaise was homemade and delicious 😋! Service, friendliness from the boss and the waitress are better, even if there is a lot to do. Sitting at a “cat table” in the hallway to make the house even fuller doesn’t work either. Mr. Wauligmann, sales are not everything, you should know when enough is enough. We know it and we won't be coming back any time soon.

We spontaneously wanted to go out to eat and got a small table for 3 people. After a place by the window with a larger table was free, we were able to sit there. The dining room is clearly showing its age. Our waiter was very courteous and polite. The food was very down-to-earth and handmade - simply delicious. The portion sizes were more than sufficient and the price was reasonable. Very happy again.

Very good and honest German cuisine. Everything is very harmonious. Location, rooms, menu and the food itself. Good portions, really deliciously prepared. I drove 15 km for the Cordon Bleu, but I would also drive 50 km for it. Highly recommended is the men's cream, classic and exactly as it should be. This type of classic German cuisine is becoming increasingly difficult to find. Game, beef roulades and much more. We would be happy to come back.

Very well eaten, fast and friendly service

Wauligmann is a traditional restaurant and I like to go there with friends or family. Unfortunately, the vegetarian/vegan offering is very poor, uninspired and not up to date, e.g. baked Camembert or pancakes with cinnamon. I, and many others, would like to see a lot more, especially modern dishes and not like 15 years ago. For example, it would help if there were also veggie schnitzel, veggie meatballs, or seitan roulades and or seitan steaks with fried potatoes or dumplings and red cabbage/kale, etc. This would certainly be a very welcome addition to your menu and would certainly please many guests. Especially since other German restaurants are already offering this offer and it has been very well received.

Rustic country inn in Greven, near the A1. Westphalian dishes and changing seasonal dishes are offered. The plain rump steak with salad and the rump steak in Madagascar pepper sauce are also recommended.

I've been there several times and have always received top quality. Only this time the food wasn't good. One dish was totally over salted and another was not seasoned. The waiting time for the main course was 45 minutes!!

The cuisine is good, home-style. Cozy atmosphere, a welcoming restaurant. It's worth making a reservation in advance, we were lucky now but after us some guests were turned away or they would have had to wait and didn't want to. The food was fresh and tasty and came quickly. The staff was friendly and attentive. Always my pleasure.

A typical country inn with a wide selection of good beers, a hearty Westphalian menu and a nice ambience. The beer garden under large trees looks inviting from a distance (unfortunately we couldn't sit there because of a celebration), the guest room is rustic and nice. The wedding soup I ordered met my expectations, the side salad and fried potatoes were fine. I ordered 2 medallions of pork tenderloin, two dry and charred pieces of meat arrived. Unfortunately the main course was weak...

We wanted to have some dinner in the restaurant late Sunday afternoon on May 26th and entered the taproom. At a sampling table in front of the counter, we presented our concerns to the manager, who then critically examined us to see whether we were worthy of the food in his restaurant. He disgruntledly led us into the outside area of ​​the restaurant and assigned us to the cat table next to the tables in the guest area of ​​the outdoor catering area. We sat there, placed our orders and waited patiently for food and drink. We felt like we weren't really welcome the entire time we were there and every time we ordered we felt like we were an immense burden on the waiters and kitchen staff. Of course we didn't want that. When ordering a cup of coffee proved to be an insurmountable problem, we asked for the bill. The payment process was carried out at the muster table. Going out for a nice meal is different... By the way: I found the guests' barking dogs annoying.

Maybe we were just unlucky but we (4 people) can't fully understand the positive reviews. The food was at best OK (carelessly prepared, steak cold and slightly tough, salad not fresh). Eine wirklich tolle westfälische Gaststätte mit sehr leckerem Essen mit erschwinglichen Preisen. Man fühlt sich tatsächlich als Gast. Alle sind willkommen, auch Babys. Wir kommen wieder.

Sehr reichhaltige Speisekarte, (Rehragout, kl. Portion) sehr zu empfehlen+ 1 Glas trockenen Merlot und das Zimteis . Top!

Weihnachtsfeier mit ca 45 Personen und dann 4 Gänge Menü... Kompliment an die Küche und die Servicekräfte. Ambiente passend altdeutsch. Alles sehr sauber und gepflegt. Da bin ich gerne wieder.

Also.... man sollte auf jeden Fall vorher reservieren, das Lokal ist sehr gut besucht, zumindest an einem Sonntagabend. Die Küche öffnet um 17:30. Nach Bestellung mussten wir 1,5 Stunden auf unser Essen warten. Ich war wirklich schon sehr genervt, wenn man pünktlich um 17:30 vor Ort ist und um 19:15 immer noch nichts zu essen hat. Allerdings muss ich, trotz des anfänglichen Ärger über die Wartezeit sagen, das Essen war phantastisch. Es war soooo soooo soooo lecker. Die beste Gänsebrust, super Rotkohl und das Dessert die Herrencreme, einfach ein Traum. 5 Sterne kann ich wegen der Wartezeit, die wirklich nicht ok war, nicht geben, aber 4 müssen es sein - wegen des absolut leckeren Essens. Der Service war nicht übermäßig toll, aber auch überhaupt nicht schlecht. Gutes Mittelmaß. Vor dem Essen hätte ich gedacht, hier gehe ich nie wieder hin bei der Wartezeit. Nach dem Essen muss ich sagen, doch, hier sollte man definitiv wieder essen gehen!

Wenn man die Homepage der Altdeutschen Gaststätte Wauligmann öffnet, erkennt man gleich, dass hier Tradition und Kontinuität großgeschrieben werden. Sechs Generationen, Gastwirtschaft immer schon... Dass das nichts mit verstaubten Traditionen zu tun haben muss, beweist die Familie kontinuierlich. Wir sind nahezu wöchentlich dort und noch nie sind wir hinaus gegangen und waren in irgendeiner Art unzufrieden. Aber das ist nicht das, was wir sagen wollen. Wir haben eine Hochachtung vor der Leistung, die dort gebracht wird. Die Karte hat immer wochenaktuelle Gerichte außerhalb einer Auswahl, die JEDEN Geschmack trifft. Es gibt auch Tellergerichte und kleinere Portionen. Und nun der wichtigste Punkt: hier wird GEKOCHT. Aus dieser Küche kommt traditionelle Kochkunst, die frisch interpretiert ist. Hier schmeckt man, dass hochwertigst eingekauft wird und diese Lebensmittel mit Liebe zum Detail verarbeitet werden. Fertig- oder Halbfertigprodukte kommen hier nicht auf den Tisch! Heute haben wir Gans gegessen. Brust und Keule. Wunderbar. Diese Gans muss ein gutes Leben gehabt haben. Und dann ist sie perfekt verarbeitet worden. Das hat Zeit gekostet. Ein Bratapfel, saftig, ein bisschen Säure, mit Preiselbeeren. Lecker. Dann die Klöße: mit Weißbrotwürfel im Herzen und aus guten Kartoffeln, handgedreht und perfekt gegart. Genauso wie der Rosenkohl. Immer perfekte Garzustände, nie schmeckt etwas nicht so, wie man es sich wünscht. Die Menschen, die sich um uns herum kümmern, sind eine Wohltat: man wird natürlich vom Chef persönlich willkommen geheißen und an den Lieblingstisch geleitet. Der Service (das trifft es nicht, da sind Wohlfühlmenschen) agiert freundlich, nahbar, aufmerksam und professionell. Da sind Menschen, die ihren Beruf lieben. Das spürt man. Und das ist selten geworden. Die Portionen sind so groß, dass selten eines der Desserts noch in den Bauch passt. Aber wenn was passt, ist es der krönende Abschluss. Der Espresso ist selbstverständlich von sehr guter Qualität wie hier alles. Die Weinkarte offeriert eines der Hobbies des Gastwirtes. Hier werden Weine von Menschen angeboten, die wie Familie Wauligmann arbeiten: Sehr gute Grundprodukte werden durch sehr gute Handwerkskunst zu sehr guten Endprodukten. Was will man mehr?

Wirklich gute Küche! Service perfekt, freundlich, schnell und aufmerksam! Mit Tradition und Moderne. Sehr empfehlenswert. Jedes Mal ein Genuss.

Gut ist: Die Gerichte werden frisch zubereitet! Falls jmd Gans bestellt ist mit einer Wartezeit von knapp 50 min zu rechnen. Das ist einfach gut zu wissen. Nach meinem Geschmack etwas zu viel Soße und zu viel Salz in den Speisen. Der Service war sehr gut!

Wir gehen seit Jahren regelmäßig in das Lokal und sind stets zufrieden. Sommer wie Winter herrscht tolles Ambiente, die Bedienungen sind stets sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die gehobene westfälische Küche sucht ihresgleichen. Tischreservierung ist Pflicht! Sehr zu empfehlen!

Wir haben dort den 80 Geburtstag meiner Mutter gefeiert. Es war rundum super. Leckeres Essen, gute Getränke, sehr netter Service. Auch die Sanitäranlagen sind modern und sauber. Den Außenbereich haben wir, da November, nicht in Augenschein nehmen können.

Angenehme Atmosphäre schön eingerichtet gute deutsche Küche mit reichlich Auswahl.

Wir waren spontan mit acht Personen am 1. November zum Mittagessen dort und was soll man sagen..? Es war einfach alles perfekt. Der Kellner verstand unseren Humor und es gab einiges durch und mit ihm zu lachen, die weibliche Servicekraft war ebenfalls sehr nett und ebenfalls schnell. Das Restaurant bietet ein schönes, uriges, typisch westfälisches Ambiente. Dann das Essen... ein Träumchen (ich selbst hatte die Hausgemachte Rinderroulade) und bin begeistert. Statt gekochter Kartoffeln hatte ich Bratkartoffeln. Auch die anderen (es wurde noch Cordon Bleu, gebackener Camenbert, das Bauernfrühstück gewählt) waren rundherum zufrieden mit dem Essen. Die Portionen sind sehr gut und man merkt, dass hier noch Leute in der Küche arbeiten, die es verstehen zu kochen. Es kann durchaus passieren, dass wenn man spontan zum Mittagessen hinfährt, man keinen Tisch bekommt, daher bietet es sich an, dass man eventuell vorher reserviert. Wir hatten Glück und mit ein bisschen umstellen (was auch sehr schnell umgesetzt wurde), hatten wir einen passenden Tisch für 8 Personen. Vielen Dank für alles, wir kommen garantiert wieder. :-)

Hatte ein Jägerschnitzel mit Pommes. Die Jägersoße mit den frischen Pilzen sah gut aus war aber leider zu sehr gesalzen.Das Schnitzel war vom Fleisch sehr gut aber,auch wie bei anderen Bewertungen zu lesen leider ein bisschen zu dunkel. Komme trotzdem wieder da Preis/Leistung stimmt 😃

In einer Welt voller Pizzerien und Döner Kebabs eine Oase westfälischer Gastlichkeit, westfälischen Essens und gepflegter Getränke. Ein sehr netter und umtriebiger Service und ein Chef der Gastronomie lebt und Unmögliches möglich macht. Eine sehr einfache Wertung : 5 Punkte.
