The cocktails were delicious, but the descriptions were... confusing... Blue Bird: a surprise! My lactose intolerance is looking forward to the surprise.

This place is amazing. I spent four days on vacation in Cologne. And I had all my dinners at this restaurant because I couldn't find a better one. I also booked my last night at this hotel because it's stunning with a beautiful view of the embankment. Evening and nighttime diners from this same restaurant sounded like a lullaby before bed. I definitely recommend this restaurant and bar.

The taste was good, the service was good. BUT the menu doesn't match the reality. I ordered a waffle (€8), which the menu said came with two individual waffles, but I only got one. A rip-off!!

The waffles weren't delicious. The ice cream was delicious. The atmosphere was nice, very comfortable, and crowded.

Overall, everything was fine until the final billing item appeared that neither of us had, and we were charged €8.90. Things got a bit cheeky when we mentioned that we didn't have it and received the comment, "Yes, we did." In the end, we refunded the excess and left. So, take this as a lesson and look carefully at your receipt.

Even a good meal can't make up for bad service! Unfortunately, we can't recommend this restaurant. The very unfriendly waitress was in a bad mood throughout! I understand that this job, especially in this situation, is very stressful due to staffing shortages. Nevertheless, guests can expect a certain level of friendliness and courtesy. The receipt was pressed over my shoulder into my hand. My subsequent suggestion that with more friendliness, tips would be more than welcome was dismissed with the following statement: "I haven't wanted a tip for a long time!" Sorry, but I'm at a loss for words, dear female waitress with dark hair and black glasses 🙄

Expensive for what you get and you are required to tip

Overly expensive cocktails that barely had any alcohol. Had a single rum and coke afterwards somewhere else which hit harder than two of their cocktails combined.

Simply a disaster. The toilet was full of urine. Water was floating everywhere. I wanted my bill. He verbally said: €66.80. Please! Then I realized that was a bit too much. I asked for a bill, and suddenly it was €46.80. A complete disaster. Be careful.

Here you can enjoy good food and drinks (cocktails) at reasonable prices. Sitting outside right in the old town, it's quite fun to people-watch.

Food was good, nice Flammkuechle. Service management a disaster Up to three staff touts seating people (or smoking) and only one staff actually serving, resulting in long waiting times. The one who seems to be the boss just stands around and does not do anything. Many chairs fixed with sticky tape which stuck to my arm.

An absolute disaster! In this so-called 'cocktail bar' the staff doesn't give a damn about the guests. Unfriendly, indifferent and completely overwhelmed! The prices are an absolute disgrace - completely excessive for what is on offer. The food was just disgusting – cold, bland and tasteless. And when we finally wanted to leave, they refused to bring us the bill! We were simply ignored and stalled. It was like a bad joke. We felt trapped because of course we wanted to pay, but they obviously didn't want to bill us correctly. NEVER AGAIN! Save yourself time, money and stress - this store is a disgrace!

The ambience is nice, unfortunately the service tries to seat you, but after that not much happens. Cocktails are absolutely fine. Tiramisu tends to have a dry consistency.

Got scammed , waiter came over demanding €17 for unpaid drinks from the night before , as there was a group of us it kind of seemed possible , so we paid and ordered breakfast, while eating we worked out everything had been paid for. As we got up to leave , we overhead another group of English saying the same thing €17 for unpaid drinks from the night before.

Our regular place for breakfast almost every Tuesday.

I don’t normally have terrible experiences anywhere but when you get scammed it’s a different story. We ordered a coffee, latte machiato and apfel strudel. Drinks come, including some apple juice drink. Latte macchiato was cold, so they agreed to bring another one, no worries there it can happen. Husband and I are both confused about the apple juice drink and he thinks maybe it’s a complimentary thing so has a few sips to try but after a while the apfel strudel still hasn’t arrived so it dawns on me there’s been a miscommunication. We alert the waiter and he says he”ll bring the apfel strudel. Once husband has paid i’m surprised at the total € so i ask for a receipt to which they purposely bring the card receipt. I explain i want to see the receipt with items because i don’t understand the price. He rings the items up at the register to show me and clicks €6,50 for this apple drink. I explain I don’t agree, they brought it to us by accident but he keeps saying we drank from it so pay. I will only stand there so long and argue so I said fine, but where is the other €4 ? (At this point total is 24 and we paid 28) He goes “sauce with the apfel strudel” I was floored. The blatant lying, scamming- just astonishing! The apfel strudel is listed on the menu wíth vanilla sauce and we certainly didn’t get extra or more importantly, order extra. This place must think they can just scam tourists out of money because who cares just tourists right? But it’s bad practice because this morning I could have and probably would have (because we were craving crepes) returned for breakfast. Hope the few extra stolen euros were worth it for them. By the way they did reimburse the €4 eventually but at that point I was just so disappointed. Check your receipts before paying people! Lesson learned for me.

First time . Last time. Owner asked me to remove the review. No. Cannot recommend the restaurant. The coffee was “thin”. The staff unfriendly / rude. If I could, I would give 0 stars. Unfortunately we didn't enjoy our stay at all. Starting with the toilets, which were neither hygienically clean nor intact. The dishwashing water came towards us while we were washing up. Then in terms of service. Drinks only arrived after asking twice. When we (large group) wanted to pay separately. We were looked at askance. The billing was based on "approximately" because the waiter didn't know his prices. And in the end they became unfriendly because we supposedly didn't pay enough. Although it was the waiter who didn't have his prices in mind. There was also no menu with prices for drinks The awning almost fell apart. Our tip is to stay away from this bar. And look for another one.

Ordered an ice cream and gave us totally different flavours. A bottle of water costs 8€! They made us move to a different table closer to them for no reason. And on top of that, when we went to pay without even asking they added a 10% tip! I don't recommend this place.

We had two sundaes and a waffle. The strawberry cup was like soup, when I politely asked a waiter if I could get a new ice cream and wanted to explain myself, he was immediately rude and told me off with "I have nothing to do with this, tell the waitress!" on his colleague. Wow, rarely experienced something like this. He didn't even want to let me explain. The request for a change in the Amarena cup expressed when ordering was also forgotten. Sure, it can happen, but with the other factors it creates a bad picture. When the waitress finally came and I asked her if I could get a new cup (not touched, mind you, and waiting for her), she took it back without a word. No statement, nothing. Even when I got the new cup - there was an annoyed silence. As someone who works in the catering industry myself, I am shocked at the terrible service. Unbelievable. We wanted to end a beautiful day with enjoyment and had to have a miserable experience. Sorry, if you can't get along with people, you should rethink your career choice. Real tourist trap. DIRTY LOCAL. KEEP YOUR DISTANCE

There was nothing going on here for a Friday evening! Seven of us had cocktails here, the worst cocktails we've ever had in the old town! Hardly any taste, expensive and heavily watered down. The service and the ambience were mediocre, it's a shame that the Caribbean Bar with its friendly staff no longer exists!

First of all, I can only advise everyone to stay away from this bar. I called this bar 2 weeks before New Year's Eve and requested a reservation for 10:30 p.m. for 7 people. It was also the first bar in the corner where we were that answered the phone or took a reservation. However, the owner wanted us to pay a deposit of €40, which we brought in personally days in advance because Paypal wasn't working. We also received a receipt for this. When we were there on New Year's Eve at exactly 10:30 p.m., there was no table available in the cocktail bar. One of the employees took our receipt and disappeared. Another employee then took us upstairs to a table that was absolutely disgusting, especially considering we paid money for it. I've uploaded a picture of the table so you can form your own opinion. Of course we rejected this table because it wasn't in the cocktail bar itself and then the drama really started. In search of a free table we were led through 3 different neighboring restaurants, all of which were more like restaurants and didn't offer a view of the fireworks. After the third restaurant and more than half an hour of searching, I asked for the 40 euro deposit back, which was ignored for another 10 minutes until a table happened to be available in the cocktail bar. We took this because we didn't particularly feel like discussing it further with the employee. Then the next stress, the waiter was very unfriendly and rude, he also didn't want to accept the 40 euro deposit for our table because we no longer had the receipt because one of his colleagues took it from us at the beginning. The waiter was very unfriendly. And after we complained several times again, he agreed to check the reservations. Because I provided my name, the 40 euros were still credited to us. However, things continued. Shortly before 12 he said he had to settle the bill because he was about to get off work and we supposedly had to pay 76 euros. 40 euros were deducted from this, leaving 36 euros. I didn't notice it that evening, but afterwards I noticed that he had charged us 10 euros too much (which is clearly fraud) and when I paid the 36 euros, the waiter said very boldly, "Thanks for the tip "Because I didn't want to give one after such disastrous service and the unfriendly and rude manner of the employees. However, after 12 o'clock the waiter was still there, so he lied about his closing time and although we spoke to him two more times, we were not served any further, so we left. I have never been in such a bad shop and hope that I can prevent many people from having their evening ruined in such a dubious, humble shop. I can imagine that the owner would not be happy with such employees if he knew all of this. The waiter was a slightly portly man in his mid-40s I guess, with a cap half on his head, who was out in the cocktail bar the whole time.

We were looking for a delicious Long Island ice tea, as we had been disappointed at the Hard Rock Cafe. We found it here – the cocktail was really good, and the tiramisu we ordered for dessert was also delicious! So, everything was fine – the service was very friendly, too. We'd be happy to go back!

You can't choose your place even if it's empty, cold hot drink and unpleasant waiter

I had the apple strudel and the latte macchiato with chocolate. Strudel was good and the latte macchiato had already sugar in it. Very nice breakfast!

Mega arrogant and completely uninterested service staff. We arrived and had to make it very clear that we were recognized. Afterwards we were informed that we had to wait a bit longer even though there were still many seats available outside?? Afterwards no one came for ages. When we raised our hand to order, a waiter told us to "be patient" while he lit his third fag in a row. Buddy then smoke your smoke after you have come to our table but your behavior does not signal any willingness or the feeling of being welcome as a guest. In my opinion, something like that doesn't work in service. When I worked in the catering industry back then, I would have gotten a hell of a beating from my boss for it. We left shortly afterwards because we didn't want to make the nasty comment.

Unfortunately we couldn't have a great experience here. We asked for a table for 5, and from then on we had a bad feeling, but wanted to give it a try anyway. About 10 minutes later we were assigned a table that we saw from the beginning and that wasn't full of drinks etc. The waiters who were responsible for the orders outside...I'm sorry but it was just a disaster. One is smoking, one is taking an order right next to us, but doesn't respond to our hand signal. Not to forget that one of them made a delicious grab in the back of his pants several times...😂After several hand signals, which we were also noticed, one of them lit another cigarette and the other two walked away. One waiter then informed another who apparently didn't want to come to us😂 We were then told that we should be patient even though there wasn't much going on outside. After about 25 minutes we left :) We really didn't like the behavior and are ultimately glad that we didn't give the store any money.😊

Even worse than bad. Gave one star but it is simply TOO MUCH! 150 euros for cold food.

Not only did they try to rip us off with exorbitant prices, but the staff were incredibly insulting and disrespectful. We were treated in a vulgar and unacceptable manner. It is unacceptable to receive such treatment as customers. Move on and avoid this place at all costs.

Very unfriendly. Without any announcement (piece of paper or anything else) that you only have to pay with the card from €20 onwards. If you don't see that, you'll be thrown out. Without a sign or information that payment with card is only possible from 20€. Not recommended. Because it is usually possible to pay by card from 5/10€. Unfortunately we cannot recommend it.

The service is very slow and the people have no knowledge. They try to make you sit down, but when you sit down, they don't pay attention.

Slow service but hey they’re probably beyond caring about customers at this stage as they are guaranteed being in tourist area. But a weak watery margarita. As a work team, we started geo caching in Cologne. One task was to exchange a paper clip for something “more valuable”. The Aloha Bar team responded very nicely, we got a scoop of ice cream and even a photo together :) we'll definitely come here again

Disaster, so unfriendly waiters all! Impolite!!! Don't understand what you're ordering. Ice cream tastes terrible. First and foremost, they should work on politeness and behavior. The waiter expects to keep the tip, despite being rude. Since I really wanted my change, the waiter gave everything back in €0.20 and counted the money for two minutes before I got the money back. Don't say thank you or goodbye.

Tourist trap, CHECK THE BILL, the place is very nice but they are scammers. They charge for the large Coca Cola instead of the normal one which costs double the price. In addition our bill was 16.5 euros and they asked us for 17 euros, so always ask for the bill!!! RUN away, it will save you a bad experience!!

Unfortunately only 1 star. First we were lured, then we didn't get a card. After about 10 minutes we received 1 ticket for 5 people when we asked. Answers to questions were consistently ignored. Unfortunately not good service. We left without ordering.

Unfortunately our water glasses were dirty and so were the spoons for the ice cream. The tables are not wiped down. You just go over it once with a cloth previously used by customers or wipe the crumbs off with your hand. I felt very uncomfortable and my daughter, who is not normally fussy, couldn't eat her ice cream because the dishes were just dirty.

The waiters don't take care of the customers and stare at you without even taking your order, they are just in a hurry to collect!!! Avoid if you don't want it to end in a fight!!!

Bad experience with waiter very very bad

Scam. We were first brought the wrong drink (that could still be corrected). Beer wasn't tapped enough (no foam was the bottom line) and we were ripped off when paying. We didn't get a bill and had to pay €20 for two beers and an iced tea... according to the menu, a beer was €5.80 and an iced tea was €3.50. All in all NOT RECOMMENDED. A pure tourist trap, the kind that catch people off the street...

Scam, unfriendly, not tasty - so NO I sat there for the first time, although I was always advised against it, the drinks were very bad and had nothing to do with the cocktail I ordered, my crepe also had nothing to do with the one in the picture, then the waiter said “Brother that is I would have liked to complain about it, but as unfriendly and arrogant as the unkempt waiter was, I didn't want to cause any more stress. My crepe tasted like a leather shoe, and the chocolate filling was skimpy. You can get better crepes at the fair than in this unfriendly shop, for a price three times lower. Waiter interferes in too much, do your job and let me take my things as I want. He was also very unfriendly and arrogant, and you definitely don't want to be served by him. Paid and left. Horrible service. Waiter was super grumpy and asking in the end “can I get the money” instead of “would you like to pay”. They really should train the waiters to serve in a better and more polite way. You also couldn’t pay by card..

Great start, nice service until we tried to pay. 5 people asked and had to wait more than fifteen minutes to pay. And if you say something about that, you get a big mouth. Very sorry. And oh yes, the lamps are so warm that several people asked if the heaters could be turned off. Very angry reactions that they are lamps. But they don't have to be on during the day at 26 degrees either. 😀

Well, I wanted a vanilla milkshake and I only got vanilla milk and it wasn't even cold. Son ordered a fruit cup. It didn't look anything like the picture. At most 2 scoops of ice cream and a few fruits and then Demand €10.50. I would advise against eating ice cream here

The service is very friendly, but please don't expect too much from the food on the menu. Very bad for the price you pay, if I have to speak from experience. Lasagna that I took had a specific taste and smell... I pushed everything on one side to give it back.

Spent 1 hour making a simple serving

We went there on a Sunday, we got seats at lunch hour. The salmon was really good. The snitzel was nice too. The cold beer from fass was a good one. The service can be a bit slow, if busy. The prices are a bit on expensive side for the portion size.

We ate crêpes there today with fruit and it was really just disgusting! After we complained about it, no one came. I advise you to just walk past it...

We were there today and ordered a chocolate milkshake and a spaghetti ice cream with strawberries. The waiter even repeated the order in front of us (and correctly). We got a chocolate cup and a spaghetti ice cream with strawberry ice cream. My friend also ate his chocolate cup instead of the milkshake. We then pointed out to a waiter that I hadn't touched the ice cream and told them that the order was wrong, actually for both of them. The statement then came that he would let his colleague know. This came with the bill after a long wait! It even had spaghetti ice cream listed underneath strawberries. He then lied that we had ordered it that way. Very poor and substandard service... We advised the guests next to us, who were already annoyed by the waiting time because they had not been served/attended to at all, to get up and leave. Cologne has enough ice cream parlors, you should really avoid them if you don't want to be ripped off.

Visited during Euro 2024, was busy and the staff seemed abit stressed but it was understandable as they were rushed off their feet. Drinks prices wernt bad and the location by the river was perfect

It was fine. You are welcome to go for a cocktail. But we just stopped there and had a cocktail - and then moved on.

Unfortunately the waiter was very unfriendly! It was clear that he was annoyed with his job. He insulted the Spanish European Championship guests sitting next to us in an incredibly inappropriate manner with the words “Do you think you are the only guests here!”, even though they only asked for two more glasses. Absolutely not possible and is very embarrassing as a European Championship host country!

Salmon was over cooked and dry. The drinks were good but the server made a point to tell us that service was not included. The service was sub par so make sure to bring extra money to pay for the servers to do their normal jobs.

Here for the euros. Server very rude, not once did he tell us no card payment until asking for bill then had the cheek to charge an extra 22 euro for using card.

Unfortunately, I had a very, very bad experience with one of the employees. His behavior was very rude and there were no multiple ways to pay the price (he said there is cash only, no card payment). I told the problem to other employees, he answered me in a rude manner, then I wanted to talk to the café manager, they didn't want to tell me who the manager was, and what was worse, the employee told me "Pay now and never come back ", really I would never go there I hope you take my opinion into account and adjust the behavior of the employees.

Just had a little something, Bruscetta classico, which was very tasty and beautifully prepared. The aperitif was also very good for me.

Cocktails are so tasty, big and chic. I really liked how the waiter helped me choose. The same one with a tattoo on his neck.
