Very nice staff and delicious fish sandwiches. The lemonade we had was great. Of course there are also other great dishes and drinks. Something for everyone. Great atmosphere and nice audience.

A place for the bourgeoisie from Rhine-Main and tends to be less frequented by “real Rheingauer” - a typical “see and be seen”. Certainly a nice location, but I find neither the service nor the food to be intoxicating. Price/performance is not consistent in my opinion. Individual items, such as a lemonade (0.4 liters) are grossly overpriced at €6.50. I prefer other more casual restaurants that offer significantly more for less or the same money.

Better avoid! Baby portions that you have to wait hours for. We cooked it in a container and this is how it tastes in the end. Fries / baby portion for 4.50 plus ketchup 50 cents extra. Condition completely overwhelmed...we waited 1 hour for the food. Toilets... disaster.

The Surf'nTurf was good but I would have liked sauce or herb butter with it. Otherwise really nice location and cool vibe. Definitely recommended.

Super nice location, attentive and friendly staff (although I could imagine that it's a bit too relaxed for many), delicious food, only the number of paving stones in the sand was a bit annoying (hence no full 5 stars for the atmosphere). Consideration could also be given to introducing self-service for the beach area - especially to relieve the burden on waiters who have to fight their way through the sand with their normal shoes and don't know where to put something because the tables are always in different positions (not there permanently installed). I think it would at least be fair to the staff.

We really enjoy being there because the ambience is simply beautiful with the view of the Rhine and the beach club atmosphere. Great for children with the playground and child-friendly portions and prices. Parking is very difficult there. You also don't always get a place. Many restaurants can learn something from service and friendliness. Terrific. Price performance ok. The selection of dishes is manageable but good.

We were there with 10 people and 2 small children. The food was really very good... Price performance was also right but the service was really terrible... we waited 1.5 hours for our food... the children became restless We were HUNGRY...when paying I asked if there was a "sugar" because we had to wait so long for the food...the boss said an espresso...ridiculous...I can't recommend the shop

I wonder what guests here consider exceptional. Yes, the location is very well located and decorated in a maritime, modern way (inside), but I have seen more tasteful waterfront restaurants, especially in terms of the outdoor area. We wanted to order food to go with the drinks. Food menu average, prices too high. With the red gazpacho (soup) for EUR 9.80, you only find out when you ask that it is a starter (i.e. a small portion). If you want to eat the soup as a main course, that is not possible. I have never seen so little flexibility at such a high price. Staff nice, but inattentive, despite requesting a follow-up order you were forgotten. We then paid and left. The fact that there is only card payment doesn't bother me, it's better than if there was only cash payment. Let's see if we can give the location a second chance.

Simply awesome, beautiful location by the “sea”, delicious food and of course exquisite wines! A day of vacation in the middle of Germany.

Great location right on the Rhine, with a jetty for visiting by boat. Delicious food, high prices, great location. There is a great playground and a changing area for the children.

I often visit Allendorf am Rhein and have been satisfied every time. Delicious food, friendly service and the ambience is simply beautiful. When it comes to the fries, the chef sometimes gets a little crazy and that's my only small point of criticism. Otherwise I really have nothing to complain about. Even if you're not hungry, Allendorf am Rhein is a perfect location to simply drink a little wine. It is advisable to make a reservation, especially if the weather is good.

The location is chilled and beautifully maritime with a beautiful view of the Rhine. The service is new and tried hard. So far so good. But the food was terrible!!! The fries were totally over-salted and the “Kibbeling” was just totally dry pollack - instead of cod, as is usual with Kibbeling - in far too much breading that was dripping with fat. The tartar sauce was too little and somehow very sour. The whole thing for €14.50! Go to Holland and you'll know what the fish must taste like! Overall, the prices are just unbelievably expensive. Ice tea 0.3l for €6.50 Prices like on Sylt but quality unfortunately only like Frittenbude in the Ruhrpott! 👎🏻

First visit there disappointing. We didn't have a reservation - that wasn't welcomed at reception. Although some tables were free. Not a warm welcome. Clear menu with interesting dishes. Had fish sandwiches. Instead of fried fish there was matjes. Here the fish on the roll two slices of onion and that's it. Not done. The Spundekäse couldn't be seen because of all the pretzels. Very nice atmosphere. A nice presentation would be desirable. Service not attentive. Paying cashless is very inconvenient and there is no receipt. No order matching. Nothing.Espresso tasteless. We were really looking forward to trying it. But more was expected here for the price.

Nice place, reminiscent of Sylt. I always find waiting at the entrance to be assigned a table very pleasant and relaxing. But you shouldn't be bothered by the pronounced arrogance of the colorful receptionist. Prices are high, but match the ambience and the beautiful view. Unfortunately, the quality of the food and service doesn't match. Despite the table being assigned, the dishes from the last guests are still on it and no one feels compelled to wipe it. Service staff are uncoordinated. First no one comes, then two in a row. Ordered fried fish, got herring. The rolls are completely carelessly topped. The taste was ok, but not an aha experience. Even with open wine. Espresso a total failure. Payment only electronically or "appropriately" in cash. It's ok for me. But no one asks if everything was ok, not even when there was no tip. It's probably not all that important. If you go to “Sylt” and charge high prices, I think it would be nice if the passion for gastronomy could also be found. It's a shame, the whole thing actually has potential.

Rheingau - mon amour! It's always nice to be here and the atmosphere in the location almost saves you the journey to Sylt. Gladly again and again. . .

A beautiful place, I would definitely return. Although there weren't many things I wanted to try.

The restaurant is located directly on the Rhine and also has a large terrace. The dining room exudes maritime chic, the service is friendly and the food is really very good. The only point of criticism for my companion was that requests for changes were handled somewhat inflexibly. But you also have to say that the chef was alone and only because of his top preparation he was able to cope with the rush very well. Requests for changes are not always so easy to implement. The food came very quickly, each plate was like the other, beautifully prepared, fresh and really tasty. We definitely haven't seen each other for the last time.

We were there a few years ago. Thank God the quality of the food and drinks hasn't changed. Still top 👍🏼 The service was also very good, courteous and friendly. We would love to come back 🥰

You reserve there. Without registering, you look for a table where you have enough time to reserve. The time is written on the reserved sign.

We were back at “Allendorf am Rhein” on Saturday and it was a wonderful stay. The wine, the food and the service - simply top! The weather was very nice and the location was correspondingly well attended. At first we didn't have a table and sat on a wall and here too we were well looked after and the first glass of Riesling came within a few minutes. The employees are very attentive and always in a good mood. We would love to come back and enjoy a little short vacation on the Rhine!

The boys and girls in service do a great job! Nice atmosphere right on the Rhine. Good value for money. I recommend making reservations in advance.

Were there today full of anticipation. Despite reservations, we were seated at a place where other customers were sitting. Drinks and food ordering went quite quickly. However, the fries were cold, floury and rubbery. The fish was OK. Drinks: The Homemade Iced Tea was just water with color. However, this was changed after a complaint. The wine spritzer consisted mostly of water. We found the prices of 6.50 euros for an iced tea and spritzer definitely too high. When paying, which can only be done by card, no receipt was offered. After asking, this was handed over, but it was the wrong one. Conclusion: Nice ambience, but not satisfactory value for money.

Very disappointing, passion fruit juice with green tea only tasted like water for 6.50 euros. Passion fruit juice ran past the glass. Ordered Kippeling with fries, the fries were not as fresh as rubber. You want to do it in a fancy way, but it's not. Then you can only pay by card; this should be pointed out at the entrance.

No Cash - I think it's a real shame that cash is no longer accepted - otherwise a great place.

A really great location, very tasty wines, friendly service. We had lunch on Sunday. Grilled loup de mer. Fantastic. And there are great play opportunities for the little guests. Great place to stay and meet up with friends.

We had reserved because we wanted to spend a nice family time there. Unfortunately, we had to wait 15 minutes at the entrance to get in before we could go to our table - which, however, was still full of empty dishes from the previous guests. After 30 minutes a service employee came to take the order. The drinks came relatively quickly, and a cooler for the wine bottle was also brought quickly upon request. About 1 hour after ordering, we asked if we could have the olives and taralli we ordered with the wine. After discussing that other guests might be annoyed if we got something to eat before them, it was still delivered. Unfortunately, half of the taralli were crumbs, but if you're hungry you're not too demanding. When we asked again, we were served some of the food about 2 hours after ordering. However, it is already cold and therefore no longer edible. The other part of our group didn't get any food at all. The reason is incomprehensible to us. The only thing that was reassuring was that all the guests were in the same boat at the same time of our visit yesterday. The complaints at the neighboring tables could not be ignored. It's a shame for the guests, but also a shame for the employees, who don't enjoy working under conditions like yesterday. After spending 2.75 hours in a beautiful location, we unfortunately had to go home hungry because, as I said, not everyone got their food and we no longer wanted to wait. That's really a pity!!! In fact, we didn't have to pay anything because the incidents apparently made the deputy restaurant management very uncomfortable. However, I would have preferred to have had an enjoyable time at Allendorf am Rhein, paid for it myself and left an appropriate tip, instead of having to go home after almost 3 hours shaking my head and having an empty stomach. The location certainly makes up for a lot, but something like what we experienced is more than too much of a good thing. It's nice that many guests apparently had and can have positive experiences at Allendorf am Rhein at other times. However, we are not planning another visit for fear of a similar fiasco. P.S. I've read in other reviews that some guests find the prices too high. I definitely don't see it that way! In my opinion the prices are absolutely fair!

I had planned a family trip to this successful location on the Rhine. After I read that only card payments were accepted by the restaurateur, we decided not to visit this location. From a purely legal perspective, the waiver of cash must always be agreed between both parties involved in the contract. Here, however, potential guests are presented with a one-sided fait accompli card payment is accepted. Such behavior is brazen to say the least and is not legally permissible in Germany.

A place to relax and enjoy. Very friendly staff, you feel like you are among friends. The food is good, the wine tastes good, what more could you want in a relaxed atmosphere. Lovely again!

Everything was tip top, the service was very attentive and extremely friendly. The wine was very good and the food was also very tasty. Unfortunately, there is a star deduction because you can only pay by card here and there is no information about this at the entrance. . Beautiful place to stay on the Rhine. We discovered Allendorf by chance and are simply thrilled. A manageable but good menu. There is something for everyone. Delicious wines and great views. We enjoyed the time and the children had fun too. The small playground is perfect. A lot of details have been thought of. Will definitely be here more often in the future.

As usual with Allendorf - making something out of an idea. You can sit in a maritime atmosphere with a view of the Rhine and enjoy your Aperol. However, why this has to cost €9 remains questionable. You may not want to target specific groups of guests. It's a shame, because like us, others held on to a drink and had the waitress turn them away.

Top location, very good food, like on vacation 🏖

We visited Allendorf am Rhein again as part of a bike tour. My current impression is that the location has simply become too hip too quickly. We were greeted at the entrance by an employee and immediately pointed out that there were no tables left. During our first visits 1-2 years ago, it was still possible to look for ourselves and, if necessary, ask other guests whether they could sit at the large tables. I found the reception rather unwelcoming. We then passed the employee (almost secretly) and found a free standing table. We had to spend ages finding out which of the service staff was responsible for us or felt responsible for us. There were untrained service staff, a few were allowed to take orders, the majority only delivered drinks and food. The employees don't coordinate with each other, so if you want to order something from the service person who delivers drinks, for example, you will be referred to the colleagues who take orders. After ordering, 35 minutes is too long for fries and fish sandwiches. Yes, it was well attended, but there were no more guests than tables; on the contrary, some reserved tables were not occupied. There were also quite a few service staff running around, but they seemed completely uncoordinated. Basically it is more of a higher price level, but this is justifiable given the location and location. The fries look very tasty, but are totally soft and unfortunately don't taste good at all. At €4.90 per serving, ketchup or mayonnaise comes with an extra 50 cents - I always find it very petty in the catering industry when ketchup or mayonnaise are priced and billed separately. The fish sandwich was delicious and the price of €8 was completely reasonable considering the location. During our stay of 1 hour and 15 minutes, 5 complete tables were not occupied because they were reserved. Nice for the guests who had reserved but weren't there (yet), very stupid for guests who might have liked to sit at a table and probably have made additional sales. The concept should be reconsidered, unless you don't want spontaneous guests.

Very nice place on the Rhine. The rosé is very tasty. The prawns with spaghetti could have been seasoned a little better. And the radishes don't go well with the prawns. The staff is very friendly and nice. What is a no go is only 2 toilets for so many people. There are also toilet trolleys suitable for the conditions there. What bothered me, however, was the smell of fish. July/August 2021 no more bad smell. But even though there are now 4 toilet boxes, it's still not very hygienic. A toilet truck is probably too expensive. The food this time was very good, saddle of veal & prawns and gnocchi and fresh chanterelles. Trying it on different days was great. Today August 12th However, it was very hot and a huge river ship unfortunately blocked the view of the Rhine because it was anchored right there. But I'd love to come back. 4/14/23 Wonderful day to be here again. It's just a beautiful place on the Rhine. The food and wine as still good. Minus points from my point of view, still the toilets (although at least now 2 x w and 2 x h) There are such wonderful toilet trolleys (see Wiesbaden Wine Festival). It also bothers me that no note is printed out before payment. June 16, 2023 because we wanted to show good friends this beautiful place on the Rhine, we were there. But slowly the menu could bring something different. The pasta with prawns is still good, but this time I ate Surf & Turf without potatoes and with a side salad. The whole thing came on Grandma's old silver tin plate. A mini beef steak which was ok, two mini prawns and a mud salad. I've eaten surf & turf all over the world, but never so bad. You should stay away from it here. The wine glass prices of €6 are also too high for your own winery. Sunday 4/7/24 2:15 p.m. - 5:00 p.m As always, a beautiful place right on the Rhine. Although we sit inside, the fact that the windows and doors are open makes it the most enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, the entire staff has no view of the guests. So you have to try for a long time to be served. The food has also gone down. E.g. pasta + prawns. The dishes remind me of dog bowls. The toilets are still impossible and unkempt. So only enjoy wine when you are served and enjoy the beautiful landscape. It's a shame that the influx has unfortunately reduced the quality.

We spontaneously drove past and decided to stop at short notice. But we were immediately whistled back by the receptionist! There were 5 of us and we were hungry so I announced myself to the receptionist but she simply said NO! There was no space in the store but it was half full

Great location, the walk from Heusenstam to Allendorf was worth it, delicious wines.....unfortunately we only got a place at the fire barrel.......however, we were able to experience Melanie up close, pure stress but always charming, a pearl for her every employer. We'll definitely be back ...... and are already looking forward to it.

We were there for lunch on Easter Monday. There was grilled salmon with green asparagus and green sauce. Absolutely delicious. The staff is super nice and attentive. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great, but we had reservations inside. This was easy to do online and you will be reminded by email beforehand. We always enjoy coming back.

The location on the Rhine is a great choice. The food can be recommended. Trout could still be on the menu. Otherwise everything was great.

Nice beach club.. could of course be even nicer... but better than nothing... Service, especially in the sand area, is occasionally a bit slow - but has improved... What's not good is that you only pay with a card can. I actually didn't support that...

A really worthwhile location directly on the Rhine. Modern, stylish, cool... Price-performance ratio is excellent, even if it is at a higher price level. Large selection of food from fries to surf and turf, delicious fish and oysters. Something for every budget. Friendly and courteous young service. As usual, delicious wines from Allendorf. Beer drinkers are happy about a light beer. There is hardly anything comparable directly on the water between Wiesbaden and Rüdesheim. Reservation possible online. Highly recommended!

A typical restaurant for city dwellers, overpriced (lage wine 0.2 over 11 euros) beer 0.5 5.40 euros and the food is snack food. It's a shame because the location is nice.

We love going here, especially when there are mussels. The oysters are also recommended. Beautiful ambience right on the Rhine, reminds me of our last vacation on Sylt.

We rode our bikes from Rüdesheim to Allendorf. The ambience was great, little short vacation. Drinks like beer and wine were delicious. We didn't eat anything.

Food ordered and paid for was not delivered. The service was completely overwhelmed and couldn't help me. I should take care of the crowded counter myself. I asked for the money I paid for the meal back. The first and last time.

This is cult! Allendorf is always a safe bet - a family business run from the heart with the best view in the Rheingau. Always my pleasure.

Haben hier Muscheln in Weinsoße und Kibbeling mit Pommes gegessen und zum Nachtisch belgische Waffen und espresso genossen. Die Gerichte waren lecker und die Qualität gut. Über den Wein gibt es nur eines zu sagen :"Die Weine von Allendorf sind sehr gut". Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Schön sitzen direkt am Rhein mit einem leckeren Tropfen Wein. Sehr freundlicher Service und leckeres Essen. Selbst kleinere Portionen sind kein Problem.

Essen gut ,Service hat viel zutun

Eine wirklich schöne Aussicht direkt auf den Rhein. Leider gab es bei 30 Grad kein Eis, da wohl keine Lieferung gekommen wäre, schade für unsere Kinder. Aber das restliche Essen war sehr gut und die Bedienung freundlich, wenn auch gehetzt.

Sehr schönes Ambiente, Essen gut, Der Service könnte in der Orga eine Aufschwung gebrauchen. Das Besteck zu polieren in Mitten der Gäste ist deffinitiv nicht günstig und unschön Vorallem könnten alle Mitarbeiter eine einheitliche Kleidung (Tshirt tragen) Damit jeder Gast den Mitarbeiter vom Kunden unterscheiden kann. Eine aktive Aufmerksamkeit allen Kunden am Tisch sollte generell gegeben sein. Rundumblick für alle Tische...

Super freundliche Bedienungen, erstklassige Speisen und Getränke

Service etwas inkonstant von superklasse is etwas träge aber nie schlecht. Essen mit ziemlich begrenzter Auswahl, Preise eher sportlich, gebotene Qualität aber immer gut. Wein extraklasse, nicht billig aber Preis-wert. Ambiente sehr, sehr schön, aber schon auch ein wenig in die Richtung sehen und gesehen werden. In der Summe konkurrenzlos. Wir kommen immer wieder.

Super schöne Location. Der Service war aufmerksam und das Essen sehr gut. Schöne Gerichte zu fairen Preisen.

Location und Atmosphäre top, Service und Qualität der Speise mittelmäßig Positiv: tolles Ambiente, bequeme Stühle und Lounges. Negativ: Das bestellte Surf&Turf als Medium kam well done, wurde anstandslos ausgetauscht. Warum aber Balsamico Dressing als Deko in Massen auf den Teller muss, das wird wohl als kulinarisches Experiment unbeantwortet bleiben. Die Sesamdeko ist nicht auf der Karte ausgewiesen. Servicepersonal ist sehr jung und wirkt überfordert. Sanitäre Anlage sind, logischerweise der Location geschuldet, Container, dürften aber passend zum Gesamteindruck besser kontrolliert und das verantwortliche Personal besser geführt werden
