ALEX Paderborn in Paderborn

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Während meines Besuchs in der Paderborner Innenstadt habe ich im ALEX direkt am Eingang der Libori Galerie eine kleine Kaffeepause eingelegt. Die Lage ist einfach ideal – perfekt, um vor dem Einkaufsbummel entspannt einen Cappuccino zu genießen oder sich nach dem Shoppen eine kurze Auszeit zu gönnen. Der Service war ausgesprochen schnell, freundlich und aufmerksam. Mein Cappuccino wurde zügig serviert und ich konnte die angenehme Atmosphäre in vollen Zügen genießen. Das gesamte Restaurant machte einen sehr gepflegten und sauberen Eindruck. Besonders positiv ist auch die Barrierefreiheit, wodurch das ALEX für alle Gäste bequem erreichbar ist. Das Ambiente ist modern, einladend und lädt zum Verweilen ein. Trotz der zentralen Lage herrscht eine angenehme Atmosphäre, in der man sich sofort wohlfühlt. Genau so stellt man sich eine entspannte Kaffeepause mitten in der Stadt vor. Für mich eine klare 5-Sterne-Empfehlung. Wer in Paderborn unterwegs ist und vor oder nach dem Besuch der Libori Galerie einen guten Cappuccino in schöner Umgebung genießen möchte, sollte hier unbedingt vorbeischauen. Ich komme bei meinem nächsten Stadtbummel sehr gerne wieder! ☕⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Man kann hier sehr lecker essen und Cocktails trinken zu fairen Preisen. Komme schon seit Jahren immer wieder gerne mal vorbei. Die Bedienung ist immer freundlich.

Oh mein Gott, das Essen war köstlich! Kostenlose Getränke und eine riesige Auswahl an Speisen – einfach selbst bedienen. Nehmen Sie sich, was Sie essen und trinken möchten. Das Personal ist supernett, immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Einmal bezahlen, und dann können Sie bis Ladenschluss essen und trinken.

Wir waren brunchen und es was vielfältig, frisch und Service top

Die Bedienung ist immer sehr nett und lässt selten lange auf sich warten. Ebenfalls kommt das Essen in einem guten Tempo raus. Das Essen an sich ist sehr vielfältig und hält für jeden Geschmack etwas bereit; dementsprechend ist die Qualität zwar nicht die Beste im Umfeld, aber alleine die Variabilität macht viel aus (vorallem für größere Gruppen!) bei recht konsistenten Geschmack. Das Rumpsteak war bei meinem letzten Besuch jedoch praktisch am muhen. Dieses würde ich nicht empfehlen, da scheinbar nicht verlässlich die Gartemperatur überprüft wird. Mein Steak wurde Rare (Blutig) bestellt und es kam muhend an. Die Atmosphäre ist generell recht laut und während der WM werden hier auch Fußballspiele gezeigt welches den Ort sehr laut macht zusätzlich zu den lauten Gesprächen und den Geräuschen der drumliegenden Liborigallerie. Als Fans ist es bestimmt praktisch: Für mich war es sehr chaotisch.

Ich war heute nach einigen Monaten mal wieder da. Tolle, freundliche und super Bewirtung von den Mädels. Ebenfalls einen Lob an die Küche.

Ich war seit Jahren gestern Abend mal wieder im Alex und muss sagen, dass ich echt positiv überrascht war. Das Ambiente super schön und der Service wirklich mega. Jeder der Mitarbeiter hatte beim vorbei gehen und aufnehmen der Bestellung ein Lächeln auf den Lippen, waren freundlich und einfach mal so, wie man ist wenn man Spass an seiner Arbeit hat. Grosses Lob an das Team.... Ihr seid super👍.

Nach dem Kino noch schnell ins Alex

Gestern haben wir das Tagesmenü bestellt. Nach etwa 30 Minuten Wartezeit erhielten wir die Auskunft, dass das Menü nicht mehr bestellt werden könne. So eine späte Information geht gar nicht! Wir haben dann etwas anderes bestellt und mussten ca. weitere 30 Minuten warten. Die Bedienung war sehr nett, wurde allerdings von der Küche nicht rechtzeitig informiert.

Nach nem Krankenbesuch dort zum Mittagessen eingekehrt. Tgl wechselnde Menüs, selbst gemachte Limonaden, total freundliches Personal, dazu mega lecker gegessen! Das einzig negative an dem Tag war mein selbst verschuldetes Knöllchen vom falsch parken. Das ALEX kann ich wärmstens empfehlen

Leider war das Essen gestern völlig inakzeptabel, der Salat war welk und auf dem Salat lag lieblos ein dickes Stück Hähnchen, das Dressing war bitter. Die Folienkartoffel war winzig und der Salat dazu ebenfalls welk. Das Kaffee und Kuchen Angebot konnten wir nicht nutzen weil der Kuchen den wir wollten schon ausverkauft war, um 14.15h. Alles sehr enttäuschend. Die Servicekräfte waren sehr freundlich und bemüht.

Wenn die Burger auf Ihrer Speisekarte wirklich so schmecken sollen, dann bin ich wohl ein Priester. Das Burgerfleisch war praktisch roh und völlig geschmacklos. Der Kaffee „Latte“ schmeckte leider wie stark verdünnte Milch. Das war für mich definitiv der erste und zugleich letzte Besuch in diesem „Restaurant“.

Immer wieder gerne. Interessantes und wohlschmeckendes Essen. Ich liebe die Riesentasse Milchkaffee.

Gemütlich, hat mir gut gefallen

Wir waren zu viert zum Kaffeetrinken eingekehrt. Als wir dann in die Karte geschaut hatten, müsste also doch noch etwas Süßes zum Kaffee bestellt werden. Die Waffeln waren super lecker. Die Pistazien-Eisbowl war auch lecker...der Erdbeerkuchen war nicht so dolle. Das Serviceteam war sehr freundlich.

Wir haben selten so gut gegessen! Die Mitarbeiter waren überaus aufmerksam und freundlich! Der WC Bereich war super sauber!! Wir haben uns rundherum wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder!!

Das Alex ist ein echt schönes Bistro. Die Mitarbeiter vom Service waren sehr nett. Das Essen war schnell da . Die Portionen waren für den Preis eher klein!! ( Hähnchen Curry mit Reis...ca 17 Euro) Mir persönlich hat es gereicht zum satt werden, aber ein sehr hungriger Mensch bräuchte mindestens "das Doppelte", dann wäre es wohl etwa eine " normale Portionsgröße" Das Essen hat allerdings sehr gut geschmeckt und war toll angerichtet. Echt was fürs Auge!!! ( Lob an den Koch!!!) Die Schorlen / Limos waren zum Teil sehr schön angerichtet manche wie z.B. Ananas und Apfelschorle eher langweilig.... Die Akkustik im Bistro war grenzwertig ( extrem laut und unangenehm....) Im Verlauf des Abends leerte sich der Raum etwas und es wurde angenehmer....

Wir hatten die vegetarische Quiche Mediterran bestellt, es wurde keine 10 cm im Durchmesser große Quiche serviert, dazu in gleicher Größe ein Salat. Das kostete 11,80 €. In der Speisekarte gibt es ein Foto, auf dem die Quiche vor einem Flammkuchen drapiert ist, die gleich groß aussehen und die wahre Größe der Quiche vertuscht. Nach meinem Verständnis hat eine Quiche eine Größe einer kleinen Pizza von 20 cm im Durchmesser. Meine Partnerin hatte einen Flammkuchen mit Gemüse. Der ca. 20 mal 15 cm große Flammkuchen war warm, das Gemüse darauf kalt. So, als ob ein kleiner Beilagensalat auf dem Flammkuchen ausgebreitet wurde. Der Flammkuchen wurde auf einem abgegriffenen dünnen Holzbrettchen gebracht, das zahllose Messerschnitte hinter sich gebracht hatte. Uns wurde ein Teller gebracht, von dem der Flammkuchen gegessen werde konnte. Der Service war gut und entschuldigte sich bei uns. Der Tagesausflug nach Paderborn war war geschmissen.

Beim Schnitzel ist nicht viel zu erwarten. Winzig, weich und etwas zu braun (Zitrone for scale). Die Portion Pommes ist auch sehr spärlich. Das für 15,90€ ist schon etwas frech.

Wir waren an einem Sonntag brunchen. Die Auswahl ist echt mäßig und die Preise echt teuer. Ich finde, das lohnt sich gar nicht. Die Getränke echt überteuert und kommen on top drauf, den Matcha würde ich euch auch nicht empfehlen. Für weniger Geld bekommst du viel mehr, alleine bei Bäckerei Goeken, zum Beispiel im Riemeke.

War am Mittwoch Abend da und hab mir ne Bowl bestellt. War wirklich erschreckend wie wenig für für 17 euro auf dem Teller war. Es war zwar lecker aber ich würde es für den Preis nicht nochmal kaufen. Schade , früher waren die Portionen größer

Gehe seid Jahren dahin und hatte noch nie schlechte Erfahrungen. Das Personal ist immer sehr sehr freundlich und super schnell. Essen schmeckt gut und im allgemeinen sehr zufrieden.

Wir haben gar nichts gegessen, sondern nur Wein getrunken. Wurden völlig ignoriert. Irgendwann hat sich dann doch jemand bereit erklärt, eine Bestellung aufzunehmen. Dann hat es noch einmal eine Weile gedauert, bis uns zwei Rotwein an den Tisch gebracht wurden. Es wär sicherlich schön, wenn Gäste begrüßt werden und man das Gefühl bekommt, willkommen zu sein.

Service grauenvoll. Trotz bestätigter Reservierung war kein Tisch frei. Uns wurde gesagt, wir sollen „kurz warten“, während Gäste, die nach uns kamen, sich einfach an freie Tische setzen durften. Aus dem „kurz warten“ wurden über 20 Minuten – besonders ärgerlich, da eine schwangere Person dabei war. Während der Wartezeit wurden wir komplett ignoriert: kein Blickkontakt, keine Information, nichts. Stattdessen durfte man sich noch anhören: „Ja, wenn man heute erst reserviert, soll man sich nicht beschweren.“ Ganz ehrlich: Wofür bietet ihr Reservierungen für den gleichen Tag an, wenn man dann so behandelt wird? Absolut respektloser Umgang mit Gästen. Nicht zu empfehlen

Preis-/Leistung i.O Reichlich Auswahl und sehr lecker

War heute seit langer Zeit Mal wieder dort. Service war ok. Dann habe ich eine Quiche Lorraine bestellt für 11,80. Die war extrem klein und ziemlich versalzen. Kann das gut vergleichen, da ich bis vor kurzem zwischen Bonn und Paderborn gependelt bin und in Bonn regelmäßig eine Quiche Lorraine in meinem Lieblingslokal gegessen habe. Die war ca. 3 bis 4 Mal so groß und geschmacklich in einer völlig anderen Liga und kostete 6,50 €!!! Da ich danach noch Hunger hatte, habe ich noch Süßkartoffel-Pommes für 6,50 € zzgl. 0,5 Euro für die Mayonnaise bestellt. Die waren geschmacklich ok, die Portion entsprach aber auch nur einem Drittel der Portion in einem Lokal 100 Meter entfernt. Sorry, ich komme nicht wieder.

I visited ALEX Paderborn on December 25, 2025. I ate bruschetta and the Alex cheeseburger. I also had an açaí & berry smoothie and a raspberry-mint refresher. The food tasted good, no complaints there. However, I felt the prices were far too high for what you get. The raspberry-mint refresher was disappointing – it tasted almost entirely of water, with hardly any raspberry flavor. The service was okay, but we had to wait quite a while. The atmosphere was alright, but nothing special – just average overall. All in all, it was okay, but I wouldn't go again, mainly because of what I considered to be exorbitant prices.

Today we ordered a vegetarian quiche, which was listed under main courses. What a joke! We were served a mini quiche. It should be listed under snacks. See photo. We wanted to order a vegetarian curry, and neither the waiter nor the kitchen knew if there were mushrooms in the vegetables 😂 The chicken bowl was a mess, but the chicken was almost cold. The service was absolutely unhelpful. So, I wouldn't recommend eating here!

The breakfast buffet was fantastic. There was a great selection of everything, and it was constantly being replenished. The staff was very friendly, and orders were brought to the table promptly. Personally, I found the coffee a little too strong. I felt very comfortable there right away and will definitely be back.

I have to say, I've been here many times and was never 100% convinced. Whether it was the food, the staff, or the service. But today I was here, and it was a more than positive experience! It was my first time here alone, so I could really appreciate everything. The staff was incredibly friendly and truly brightened my day. From compliments to asking "How has your day been so far?"! I've never experienced anything like it. It's really nice to hear something like that. Especially in the restaurant industry, it's not something you can take for granted, simply because there's so much to do sometimes, and it's often like working on an assembly line. You can't imagine how happy it makes insecure people when you just ask or notice something. Thank you for that! 🩷 And thank you for your work; it certainly isn't always easy. 😘

A delicious breakfast buffet with everything you could want for breakfast. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, as well as child-friendly and helpful.

The food was, as in most Alex restaurants, really good, and the staff friendly. We had our dog with us, and the server immediately asked if he could bring a bowl of water. The ambiance was a bit less cozy due to its location in a passageway, but still pleasant. Definitely recommended.

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is rather poor when I compare it with the Alex in Bielefeld and Kassel, where there is much more choice for the money.

Great atmosphere and fantastic, friendly staff! We had breakfast with you yesterday and asked if it was possible for people who had stomach surgery to have the children's buffet (because everything else is way too much). It was absolutely no problem – we were pleasantly surprised that it's finally possible to have breakfast in Paderborn ♡ and have a bit of a choice. We'd love to come back, thank you. Great selection and fresh produce.

The service in the restaurant was friendly and fast; I have nothing to complain about. The meal, for over 14 euros, was disappointing. I had a vegetarian schnitzel with fries and a side salad. The schnitzel, obviously a convenience store item, was dry and topped with a sad lemon. The schnitzel looked like the one from Kaufland (a double pack for 1.99). The fries were acceptable. The fantastic side salad consisted only of lots of cucumber pieces and some iceberg lettuce. Somewhere in the middle of the ultra-small bowl, there was also a dash of balsamic dressing. The breading of the vegetarian steak was so perfect, it must have been a convenience store. A little tip: put at least a little sauce on the steak so it doesn't look so artificial.

It depends on what you order...among other things, I ordered deluxe fries...but they were almost cold...I put the spring onions aside; they were already bending at the ends and tasted like soap...I throw things like that in the organic waste bin at home...I don't give them to my guests.

Great restaurant in the Libori Gallery. The food was delicious (chicken teriyaki). The sweet potato fries weren't too salty or fatty. The chicken was juicy and not too dry. The atmosphere was very relaxed.

A well-located spot for dining, coffee, or simply relaxing in the evening. The staff are friendly.

Met up with a friend here in Paderborn. It's usually easy to get a reserved table. Lunch was great – the neck steak was tender, the sides were good, and the dessert was okay. With a sharp knife, the meat would have been cut even more cleanly!! The chairs could be used for bets – when will the first guest fail? The fabric is flapping under the chair. Clearly visible from the side!! I will still be coming back – as I have been for many years – the waiters make up for it!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, I have to leave something negative here. I've rarely seen a business so overstaffed that still can't serve its guests. Hardly any guests, and still no service. The ladies on shift are almost exclusively busy entertaining their private circles in and around the business. Kindergarten... Only the older lady in the service department does a good job.

Ich war dort mit meiner Mutter und meiner Schwester – und wir wurden vom Personal auf eine Weise behandelt, die absolut respektlos und unprofessionell war. Zwei Mitarbeiter haben sich offensichtlich über uns lustig gemacht: Sie standen beisammen, haben in unsere Richtung geschaut, gelacht und sich spöttisch unterhalten. Dieses Verhalten war einfach nur verletzend, respektlos und beschämend. Anstatt eines gastfreundlichen Umgangs wurden wir ignoriert, abschätzig behandelt und das Ganze wirkte, als wären wir dort nicht willkommen. Auch das Essen war enttäuschend: geschmacklos, lieblos zubereitet und weit entfernt von dem, was man in einem Restaurant erwarten würde. Die Kombination aus diesem inakzeptablen Verhalten des Personals und dem schlechten Essen machte diesen Abend zu einer der schlimmsten Erfahrungen, die wir je in einem Restaurant gemacht haben. Wir werden ganz sicher nicht zurückkommen und können dieses Lokal niemandem empfehlen.

We had an extremely unpleasant experience at Alex Restaurant last night. I was there with my mother and sister, and we were treated by the staff in a manner that was completely disrespectful and unprofessional. Two employees were clearly making fun of us: they stood together, looked in our direction, laughed, and talked mockingly. This behavior was simply hurtful, disrespectful, and shameful. Instead of being treated with hospitality, we were ignored, treated with contempt, and the whole experience felt as if we were not welcome. The food was also disappointing: tasteless, poorly prepared, and far from what one would expect in a restaurant. The combination of this unacceptable behavior from the staff and the poor food made this evening one of the worst experiences we have ever had in a restaurant. We will certainly not be returning and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I went to Restaurant Alex with my daughters at 5:00 p.m. The service was very poor. The burger and fries weren't warm or fresh. We won't be back, and I can't recommend the restaurant.

You feel comfortable. I hope for more attentive and dedicated waiters in the future, and for the focus on the quality of the ingredients, such as organic and sustainable farming. The variety on the menu is great, with something for everyone.

This was my second visit to Alex, and I was disappointed for the second time. I was able to place my order relatively quickly, but I had to wait 20 minutes for the food. On top of that, the food was cold, and the sour cream on the baked potato was laced with mayonnaise. Personally, I wouldn't recommend it.

A successful stay. The food was great, even if the extra side dish for the salad was very expensive. The service loses a point because I would have definitely chosen a drink if I had asked earlier. The ambiance is good, but unfortunately it opens onto the Libori Gallery, which makes it a bit noisy at times. We'd be happy to come back.

Unfortunately, my visit to ALEX was anything but enjoyable. Although the restaurant was only half full, the kitchen seemed overwhelmed or simply unmotivated. The burger was dry and cold, as were the fries – as if the food had waited an eternity to arrive. But the real low point was the salad: carelessly put together, lacking in freshness, and an insult to any serious chef. The only bright spot of the evening was the service: friendly, attentive, and concerned with the well-being of the guests. Unfortunately, even the best service can't disguise the poor quality of the food. Conclusion: If you value good food, you should think twice about whether ALEX is the right choice for you. There's still plenty of room for improvement!

Brunch on Sunday was a disappointment. Unfortunately the service was very slow and the buffet was hardly refilled. It was all rather old-fashioned, everything run of the mill. The lack of options for vegans was particularly untimely. Some cafés in the village are more modern. So I had 2 rolls with jam for 20 euros. So not again and no recommendation.

Pulled salmon very tasty. But not enough even for a small thing.

We went to the SUNDAY BRUNCH BUFFET today and there was a very large selection, everything was always refilled and everything we tried was very tasty! The employee was also very nice and kept coming to the table to ask if there were any drinks missing. And what was also very nice was that the table was changed so that my husband with his wheelchair could easily get to the buffet himself. So highly recommended and gladly again. :)

Great cafes are there very often

We were there for breakfast today. Everything was very good and tasty. However, given the price of 20.90 euros, I would have expected drinks to be included. I get it included in other locations. But I can still handle that. What bothered me was the dog, which apparently belongs to the staff. He is allowed to run around, including in the kitchen. Which is an absolute no-go. And the staff kept carrying him around in their arms and then serving the customers again. I have a dog myself. But that's not the way to do it...sorry, that's my opinion

Went to Alex for the first time today, it's pretty full and loud. A waitress didn't notice us, my husband had a single beer in two hours 😔, actually the customer is king, but the young lady wasn't interested in us. There's nothing to complain about the food...

We had a buffet on January 1st, 2025. The waitress with long hair and a pigtail was super nice, very, very friendly. Loves her work! Another waitress with very short blonde hair wasn't as friendly, it's a shame.

Unfortunately, the visit to Alex was quite disappointing. The service was quite inattentive and slow. My main course “salmon and spinach lasagna” was a bad joke. Taste OK. The crowd, on the other hand, was seriously disappointing. That was at most a side dish portion of a children's plate. The price-performance ratio was therefore in the lowest subclass. It should also be mentioned that 2 out of 8 dishes ordered were delivered incorrectly. It will probably be the case that I will walk past the shop in the future and wonder why so many people are sitting there.

Unfortunately it is incredibly loud in the restaurant. A cultivated conversation at the table of 6 is not possible.
