Great restaurant, great food, great beer!

The salad in my wife's bowl was a bit old and therefore shriveled. As a small compensation there was an espresso.

It was good and tasty! Service made it too clear that it was his job to serve - otherwise no interest and long breaks

Nice, cozy and nice. The food is good too. But! There is only a buffet or a French breakfast for breakfast. That's very little, because not everyone can/want to eat that much. The portions have become smaller and smaller over time. What bothers me the most is that beer is cheaper than water. That shouldn't be the case.

I'm disappointed! Went there for breakfast around 10 a.m. on a Monday. Price/performance level is poor. -Bread selection very economical - Food that has run out is only refilled very hesitantly and sometimes only upon request -We had to ask for plates because there were no more available -Upon request, plates were put out, some of which were completely dirty on the underside -Food wasn't labeled so we had to guess what some of the food was -No questions were asked for about an hour as to whether we would like to drink something else -Dirty dishes were piled up on our table and were not cleared away, we couldn't find a way to put our own dishes on a dish trolley or something similar The restaurant was around 30-40 percent full and there were enough waiters. Sorry, but over €15 plus the cost of coffee/drinks = no go! We weren't asked whether everything was ok or whether the food was tasty. In the toilets the hand dryers hang at a height of approx. 1.7m. You also have small children there (5-6-7 years old, etc.). That's probably possible somehow, but it's really uncomfortable with small children. I'm really not picky, but in my opinion that's really not possible!

On my second visit to the ALEX restaurant, I was unfortunately disappointed again. The 25-minute wait for a wheat beer and a lemonade was hardly justifiable. The waitress, who was serving the entire terrace on her own, seemed clearly overwhelmed – which is understandable, but significantly impaired the service. The wheat beer arrived without a head of foam, as it must have been sitting on the counter for a long time. After these two visits, I can't imagine going back. 80% of the guests on the terrace were just looking around and waving. I don't blame the service staff, but the manager, because on sunny days like these, you should plan for more staff. This means you lose staff and customers. Such a shame… because the concept, location, and menu are fantastic.

The waiter was so unfriendly that I didn't leave a tip for the first time in my life. Unnecessary comments on his part that weren't even funny.

We ate a tomato soup, it was really tasty, and there was some toasted bread with it. Nice staff.

Got food poisoning from the salmon in the starter. The Alex responded to a direct email as follows: “…There were no further complaints here, so we have to assume that the infection was not due to the visit to our ALEX.” The first symptoms of food poisoning from fish appear after 2-6 hours. Since I didn't eat anything else that entire evening and only had two rolls for breakfast in the morning, I'm sure that the food poisoning was caused by Alex!!!

Went here with six people... Service 1a...The store was packed... Drinks and food arrived super quickly... Despite the stress... Friendly... Friendly... Friendly... We are looking forward to New Year's Eve 🎆

We were there today and ordered a wheat beer and a ginger mint tea. It was very crowded, so I can fully understand why it took longer, no problem at all. What I find very unfortunate is that the beer came after 10 minutes and my partner's tea 15-20 minutes later. I love giving tips, but this time I pointed out to the waiter that it couldn't be that one drink came after 10 minutes and the other after 25-30 minutes. It wouldn't have been a problem if both had arrived after 25 minutes, as I knew it was quite full. When I politely pointed out to the gentleman with dark hair and dark skin (not the tall one) that I thought it was a shame that the drinks arrived at such different times, he replied very rudely that I should drink my beer at home next time... We've been there about 5 times and it stays at 5 times. Very unfortunate.

The food was super tasty and fresh. 4 dishes were served at the same time and after only a 10 minute wait, even though it was busy. In terms of service, we were asked several times whether everything was OK and whether we still had a request. However, the waffles for dessert were hardly edible because they felt like they had been sitting for a long time. The ice cream was great instead. Unfortunately, the cake was cold and wasn't that great. Hot, white chocolate was awesome, could only be a little more 😅 We'd love to come back, but without dessert.

We were able to sit down without a reservation. The service was always nice and friendly. We, my husband and I, ever ordered a burger and fries with it. We hardly had to wait. After ordering we had to wait maybe 15 minutes, short, but the food was lukewarm?! Why. The Asian burger had nothing Asian in taste. The people behind us ordered hot cocoa on this cold day, it even says hot cocoa, just like our food, their order was tepid. It's nothing special. You shouldn't have to eat there again.

Good food, but I would especially like to mention the incredibly nice staff. You feel so comfortable thanks to the staff. Really great!

Burgers cannot be made. Egg on the other dish cannot be done either. Nothing is said until the order is placed. Pizza rolls are just small rolls with a small dip. Not recommended!!!

Breakfast at Alex is quite good. Location is quite nice. Price without coffee quite okay. In return there are scrambled eggs, Nuremberg cheese, mini meatballs, sausage, cheese etc. The standard range. Selection good. Quality good. Service good. Overall: good. Simple breakfast at relatively high prices, things like salt, horseradish, but also cutlery are missing. Every time half the buffet is empty. Slow service. Toilets only 2 stars with a lot of goodwill. Very loud here, difficult to have a conversation.

The Alex is always busy, but so far we've always been lucky and gotten a table even without a reservation. Overall, the dishes and drinks taste quite good, but unfortunately the food was only lukewarm on the last two visits. The staff, however, was always friendly and accommodating.

Although there wasn't much going on. 4 waiters stood discussing at the counter and didn't deign to serve us even after 15 minutes of waiting and hand signals. All the other guests also sat in front of empty plates and glasses. We then left... If you don't want to make money - just leave the door...

Cake with coffee on the weekend is €2 more expensive than during the week. A coke, a coffee, 2 pieces of cake 20€. Ambience unclean, toilets dusty and leftover paper on the floor. Overall it's not really nice there anymore.

I visited Alex on a Friday evening with a friend. The ambience is very appealing, the room layout means it doesn't seem as uncomfortably huge as some other offshoots of all-day pub gastronomy. The interior is modern but cozy and the dining room was very clean. However, I would have hoped for a little more hygiene from the toilets at an advanced hour... The service - in person from our waitress Ali - was great: quick, attentive and always approachable. He took great care to implement dietary restrictions. In addition, he was very friendly and professional. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious - especially the Alex fries and the churos are highly recommended!!! But the food at the neighboring tables also looked very appealing. The prices of the food are particularly positive - they are consistently fair, especially given the general price level. You'll still be happy to eat there. Really great value for money! We'll be back!

Give the food 3 stars, I didn't eat anything but it looked good, I had an iced coffee (which was very good) and my other half had something else (I forgot, but it was also very good). The service is good and the rooms are really nice (there are heaters outside and some very nice corners inside). The prices are fair and the sanitary facilities are extremely well maintained (some of the best on the day of my visit to Osnabrück, but on the other hand McDonald's was among the competitors...you can't really lose there). All joking aside, I can recommend the Alex in Osnabrück with a clear conscience

Waited 1 hour for food. Vegetarian (vegie style) schnitzel didn't taste good, it was soggy inside. The best thing about the plate was the small salad. In my opinion a total of €17.50 (drink + food) Far too expensive for what you get. The service was very stressed because it was very busy that day. Nevertheless, they were very friendly.

We were there today for coffee and cake. We didn't like the coffee at all. We got a stomach ache and felt sick, and we also paid €4.20 for a cappuccino. The cakes weren't anything special but they were expensive. Where we sat the smell of food was totally unpleasant.

The water came to the table quickly, but no food after 90 minutes. When I asked when it was coming, it immediately took another 20 minutes. Apparently forgotten in the kitchen. In the end it was served lukewarm. It's a shame, the atmosphere is actually great. The bill also took what felt like an eternity.

I recently stayed at Alex in Osnabrück and had a great experience! I would particularly like to highlight the lemonade, which was incredibly fresh and delicious - perfectly balanced, not too sweet and with a slightly sour note that was simply refreshing. Special praise goes to the waiter Ali, who made me feel very welcome with his friendly and attentive service. Such service is rare and made the visit a special experience. Thank you, Ali and team! I'll definitely be back.

I was at Alex with a friend, unfortunately I don't have much positive things to say, we sat outside and apparently there was only one waiter in charge, we sat down at a table where there were still dishes from the previous person, the cellar had us 3 times said he would take it away straight away, we got the drinks and he left the dishes, we ordered the food and he left it there too, when we asked we got the answer that he only had two hands, then the food came, my girlfriend had the baked potato with salad, in the salad there was a long blonde hair... I had the schnitzel with champion sauce, in which there was a gooey stuff, it was cold, when we asked the waiter about it, we got the answer , no blonde woman would work in their kitchen and the salad had finally been washed, after which another waiter came over, who then apologized and immediately said that we would of course get new food, it was ok, but I won't eat there again because I don't want to have to have a discussion if I have a hair in my food, something like that can happen, but I would have expected at least a sorry, instead I had to justify why I didn't want to eat my cold schnitzel.

Thanks to the very friendly service, we always enjoy coming to Alex! We find the food and drinks a bit too expensive, but the friendly service makes up for it.

There were four waiters serving outside, one was responsible for our side (Southeast Asian), he was standing around, after 30 minutes of waiting I waved at him 3 times with my arm, even though he was only 3 meters away from us and was looking in our direction, he did ignored us. We talked to another waiter who spoke to him, only then would he have to serve us and was annoyed by us, so we missed the message that our meal would take at least 30 minutes, he was hoping that we would say no and walk away! We stayed anyway so as not to do him this favor. This is how you lose guests 👍

Really a shame. I really enjoyed eating steak at your place with my fiancée and we came over almost every month and ordered two steaks. Normally there was always prawns with it, but unfortunately we were told that they were no longer served. We waited almost an hour for the steaks and they were very small, really very small, tasted like they had been frozen and were very bland. We were really shocked by the taste - it was an indescribably horrible taste, warm on the outside and ice cold on the inside, which makes me think the steaks were frozen and only briefly seared. The fries were good as always, as was the salad, but the steak was just terrible. I'm really sorry, but I can't find any other words for this steak, so I had to return it to the kitchen. I was then brought a new steak that tasted even worse. Unfortunately, my fiancée and I had to leave the steaks behind. But since I know that this restaurant is actually good, I paid and left a tip anyway.

Went to Alex for brunch last Sunday and were ultimately disappointed. There were no warm dishes (apart from fried potatoes, scrambled eggs, breakfast sausages and pancakes). When we asked, we were told that it was warm outside and therefore the cook didn't prepare any warm food. Instead there would be cold roast slices (cold cuts) without any other side dishes. There is nothing for vegetarians today. The brunch price was still charged and not the normal breakfast price. Up to now we have always eaten here at ALEX once a year on a city trip, but in our opinion Osnabrück is no longer an option after this experience at the latest. We have always had good experiences with other ALEX locations (Magdeburg, Hildesheim, Göttingen).

We sat outside very nicely in the sunny weather. Service is very nice and helpful. Cold drinks were good, the white wine was very good. Coffee was hot and also very aromatic. In my opinion, the waffles are unbeatable, really great, highly recommended! Unfortunately there is a bit of a limited selection of schnapps.

A burger for me and chicken nuggets for my 5 year old son. Everything very convenient. Attentive but inattentive staff. The table was sticky and was only wiped down with an old cloth when asked and it was still sticky afterwards. More of a train station than a restaurant.

In my opinion, Alex has become very different and has changed negatively. I've been eating at Alex again for two years and was shocked at the new prices. In my opinion, Alex is more of a high-quality restaurant than a place where you can have a relaxed meal or a drink together. So the image has also changed for me. Two years ago a burger with fries cost around €12, but now cheap burgers with fries only cost €18. I find it very unfortunate. The price of the cocktails has also increased significantly, so I'd rather go somewhere else. It's a shame Alex, I used to like you very much

I like the place, very cozy and relaxing with good choices of music. The food was good. I enjoyed it not the common curry flavor. It has a unique taste. I like it. The service is okay, we were waiting outside for 10 mins for someone to take our order, but no one came to take our order so we went inside and in 3 mins we have someone.

We went out to eat on Friday and our steak was too well done, even though we ordered it medium rare. When we told the waitress when we were paying, she laughed and said OK, cleared away the food and then walked away. No sorry, nothing. It was also expensive.

The tarte flambée wasn't quite cooked through, even though we had waited 45 minutes for it, and the sauce for the wrap was not tasty. The schnitzel was good, but the fries tasted like they came from the freezer in the supermarket. The service took a long time, 30 minutes, before we could order and the first waiter we had was also a bit rude and blamed the 35 minute wait for 3 drinks on the fact that it was a Saturday evening. Normally we would understand, but the restaurant was rather poorly attended... But the waiter afterwards was very nice and noticed that the mood had already changed a bit, but lightened it up with a few jokes. The toilets were pretty dirty, dirtier than Saturday evenings in clubs like Alando. Maybe that should be improved, because you lose your appetite and the place makes less sales...
