Had burgers there with the kids. Very tasty and good there. The staff friendly, prices ok. Payment possible in cash and with Visa.

For €4.30 as an extra topping for my salad you get three pieces of baked cauliflower... so €1.50 / piece. I don't think that's fair.

Actually everything was good, except for one employee with a beard who was very rude.

I was a frequent customer and unfortunately I thought of giving Alex Café another chance as the behavior of the staff last time was disappointing as they were very rude. I thought it might have been a coincidence or just a bad day. That's why I decided to go to Alex Café again yesterday with my friends. We were five people. Unfortunately, this time it was even worse. An employee with a beard was extremely rude and acted like he was trying to drive us away. We were there for two hours. He kept coming and asking if we wanted to order anything else. He literally took my coffee out of my hands even though my cup was still half full. I told him I wasn't finished yet and took the cup back from his hands. As we got up to leave he came to us with an almost aggressive attitude and asked if we would pay, although of course there was no question that we would pay! We hadn't put our jackets on yet and only three of us were already standing up while the other two were still sitting. Honestly we will never go to this cafe again and we have already told our friends about yesterday's experience. The cafe should change their employees because we are not trash to be treated like this!

Absolutely ok for a drink, but unfortunately nothing more. The atmosphere is rather loud (and definitely more comfortable before the renovation), the service is not very friendly depending on the staff and the food is mostly not really good either. The appetizers and snacks are fine, but if you want to eat a good burger, this is definitely the wrong place.

I always enjoyed going to Alex for something to eat with family or friends. I can't say anything bad about the food or the ambience. Prices are a bit steep, but that's nothing unusual at the moment. However, there is a certain employee/waiter there who is very unfriendly and blunt with the guests and writes down incorrect things and does not receive an answer when asked. Accordingly, people don't like to give tips, but he then rudely billed us and left without saying anything or asking about our well-being. This doesn't seem particularly friendly or professional, in contrast to the other employees, who are always trying hard. It's a shame, because you tend to avoid the restaurant when you're served like that.

Cozy, dimmed atmosphere, with seating outside and, when the weather is good, on the roof terrace. One of the most beautiful places in Gütersloh in my opinion :)

As always everything was perfect! The bowls taste exceptionally good, the Thai curry is a feast for the eyes and palate. 😀 And for everyone who complains about prices: it was easily worth the money tonight!

Highly recommended! We ordered a starter and main course, vegetarians and meat eaters alike were thrilled. The waiter was totally attentive, friendly and competent. So: praise to the kitchen and service! The atmosphere is also nice and very cozy. The drinks were great, all prices were perfectly reasonable.

I was there for the breakfast buffet. The offer lasts until 12:00 p.m., which I really like. The buffet has a wide selection and is good. A little worn out on the outside, but completely okay inside. The roof terrace is good. Nice service.

Service quick, friendly and attentive. The food tastes good, but unfortunately the portions have become extremely small for some time while the prices have risen. You really shouldn't go hungry as the portion sizes are children's portions. Of course I didn't try all the dishes on the menu, but that was the case with the dishes that I and my companion had. I've always enjoyed going to Alex, but now I feel like I've been ripped off as a guest.

Everything perfect. Very flexible, our table was reserved for 20 people. During the meal we spontaneously became more and more people (for business reasons). This wasn't a problem for the staff, they simply added additional tables. Food was great, ambience too.

Been here again after a long time. Unfortunately very much diminished. Price-performance ratio is zero. If the menu says "salad side dish", then I expect a little more than 2 leaves of decoration. Fries were the cheapest quality, even better at the snack bar for 1/3 of the price. Another dish should have truffle mayonnaise with the fries. In terms of quantity, that wasn't even a teaspoon over the top. Something like that is laughable. Unfortunately, as a guest you feel really ripped off and then you understand why people go out to eat less and less. We then skipped dessert to avoid further disappointment. Lemonades and cocktails were good, but we also remembered them better. Staff friendly and helpful.

The meal, schnitzel with fried potatoes, was very greasy and from the deep fryer, breading came off the schnitzel like a ready-made schnitzel from the frozen food. The food came within about 10 minutes. The service was friendly and quick, the atmosphere was good. Would go again but only for something to drink.

The taste of the food was okay to good. You certainly won't be disappointed with the food, but you won't be totally pleasantly surprised either. If it were purely about taste we would probably have given it 4 stars. Since in my opinion the prices no longer correspond to the performance, we unfortunately have to go down to 3 stars. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio no longer fits here. Fries mayo €5.50! (They're just thin frozen fries?!). Burger without fries or any side dish around 15€. Look at the little puny schnitzel in the picture. Simply incomprehensible at these prices. Neither burgers nor schnitzels will put you on cloud nine here. The prices quoted either have to be of higher quality or at least the portions or menu composition have to be adjusted (e.g. fries included with burgers or a lower surcharge). Here you can eat much better in Gütersloh for the same money just a few meters away.

I was at Alex for the Easter brunch for the first time on Easter Sunday and I was really impressed. The selection was simply great and extensive, every dish was absolutely delicious and absolutely nothing to complain about. However, you shouldn't forget to reserve a table because we were lucky and just got the last available table. The shop is absolutely cozy and inviting. It definitely won't be the last time I'll be there. The staff was absolutely accommodating, asked several times if it tasted good and we were satisfied. We were here for breakfast. The selection is large enough and the food is delicious. Unfortunately, it can be very loud in the store if you sit in the middle of the store. The service and price of the buffet is fair.

Great Easter brunch... left nothing to be desired... service very nice and attentive... but the drink prices on the menu were a bit excessive.

Food was delicious and arrived quickly. The only thing that bothered me about the appetizer was that the waitress didn't bring anything with us because we had chips that you ate with your fingers, which was a bit stupid. The main course looked good, but was still a bit poorly presented. Had chicken with fries and wok vegetables in sauce, the fries were put in the sauce so they were mushy after a few minutes, the chicken was okay, the vegetables were good. The last time we were there we were asked while we were eating whether everything was OK or if we needed anything else, which I thought was good. But this time no one asked us. A glass fell down at the neighboring table and the waitress just stood there until the guest came up to them at some point. It seemed to me like the waitress wasn't in the mood that day. And unfortunately it's always way too loud in the store, but the store can't do anything about that. All in all it was okay, but it could be even better.

Love it here, even though the toilets and the corridor there are usually really dirty. Great fancy drinks and the food is also super delicious

Super delicious breakfast buffet!

Was there today. I ordered sweet potato fries. I was surprised that it happened so quickly. The fries were definitely not fresh, more like they were pre-fried and then warmed up in the oven. No taste, bland. The waiter to whom I told this, after an hour until anyone came, asked angrily if I wanted new ones, I said no because I wasn't hungry anymore. And surprise; I still had to pay them. I come from the industry myself. We don't have anything like that.

"We'll meet at Alex!" You hear it often! Because Alex is already an institution. One can already speak of generations who have gone there. Once you get a table. We were there yesterday, the two of us, and there was only room at the counter - the equivalent of the stable in Bethlehem, only without the critters and kings. And service, because we were "overlooked" for a long time until we could order a drink - and then again afterwards. Ok, plus point for the service: we probably looked like we were dating that they didn't want to bother us. Neither do we. Win-win situation, so to speak. The atmosphere is cozy. Not breathtakingly beautiful, eruptive, fantastometric... Just good. We didn't eat anything - don't worry, dear service, we didn't want anything either! (My grandma always said that if you eat so late, you get a stomach ache at night...) A big plus point was my pretty, charming companion, but hey, dear Alex team, that's not your point! The pepper disaster was funny, but out of the question. I really believe that my colleagues specially prepared the box so that the poor man would look really embarrassed. So I subtract a fairness point from the fun point. Well, we'll come back and see if anything has changed. So long, folks!

Beim Buffett sind meinem Empfinden nach ,Wunsch und Wirklichkeit weit von einander entfernt. Nach eigenen Aussage vom ALEX in Gütersloh, haben sie den Anspruch eines "gehobenes Niveau" beim Buffett , meiner Erfahrung nach, ist das Frühstücksbuffet vergleichbar mit dem in einem B&B-Hotel. So ganz gut um die wc's kann man sich etwas kümmern

Ich gehe immer gerne hin. Das Essen ist lecker und die Getränkeauswahl in Ordnung, obwohl ich Getränke wie Gin & Tonic, welche an und für sich günstig sind, sehr teuer finde, und es zudem kaum zuckerfreie Auswahl und Mixer gibt (z.B. zuckerfreies Tonic, Ginger Ale, etc.). Man sitzt hier recht gut und es gibt eine Dachterrasse, was im Sommer super ist.

Sehr schön eingerichtet und total freundliche Bedienung der Alex Cheeseburger mit Jalapenos war sehr lecker genau wie die Lachs Bowl meiner Begleitung. Zum Wochenende sollte man sicherheitshalber einen Tisch reservieren da das Alex sehr beliebt ist. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen 😘

Ein sehr schönes Geschäft Die Bedienung ist immer sehr freundlich man kann auch sehr gut Branchen ich liebe es einfach und bin sehr gerne hier mit meinen Freunden.. Einziger Nachteil ist das man denn Kaffee beim Frühstück oder Branchen extra zahlen muss! Ich finde man könnte wenigstens 1. Große Tasse Kaffee mit zum Frühstück geben....

Das Alex in Gütersloh ist ein gemütliches Café Restaurant mit modernem Ambiente. Die Speisekarte bietet eine gute Auswahl an Gerichten, insbesondere die Salate und Burger sind empfehlenswert. Das Personal ist freundlich und aufmerksam. Insgesamt eine klare Weiterempfehlung.

Ich war gestern mit meiner Begleitung vor Ort, das Ambiente ist etwas "hipper" gehalten, aber jung und alt sind gerne vor Ort! Das Essen war sehr lecker und auch im Service wurde gestern sehr stark gepunktet! Leider hatte sich ein Fehler bei der Bestellung meiner Begleitung eingeschlichen, wo ein eigentlich veganes Gericht leider nicht vegan war. Aber die Problemlösung war echt schnell und gut, Essen wurde getauscht und alles super! Ich hatte einen Burger und kann nur sagen, dass der sehr lecker war. Die Bedienung hatte oft auf unser Wohl geachtet und war sehr nett! Meine Begleitung und ich sind beide begeistert und würden beide den Laden weitere Male besuchen (leider sind wir nicht aus der Gegend!) Zusammengefasst, ein toller Ort um den Abend ausklingen zu lassen!

Gehe sehr gerne ins ALEX :) Der Service ist super nett und zuvorkommend, das Essen und die selbstgemachten Drinks schmecken sehr gut. Das Ambiente ist Drinnen wie auch Draußen super. (Leider gibt es immer mal wieder Poser, die bisschen Krach machen aber dafür kann das Restaurant nix) Preislich ist es ebenfalls angemessen für die Qualität des Essens.

Super Essen, es war wieder sehr lecker!

Naja was soll man über das Alex in Gütersloh noch groß sagen... Für mich ist das Alex seit ewigen Jahren eine institutionelle Größe in Gütersloh. Schon als ich in den auslaufenden Neunzigern noch zur Schule gegangen bin, war das Alex ein Laden den jeder kannte und der schon damals nicht aus dem Stadtbild wegzudenken war. Und schon damals war es ein Musterbeispiel für Gemütlichkeit, hervorragendes Essen und freundlichen Service. Und daran hat sich wohl in der Zwischenzeit auch nie wirklich etwas geändert. Bis heute ist das Essen ein wunderbar leckerer Gaumenschmaus, das Personal ist wie damals unheimlich freundlich und die Atmosphäre ebenso auf Top Niveau selbst wenn der Laden wie so oft mal wieder aus allen Näten platzt. Gerade auch im Sommer, wenn man draußen vor dem Laden oder noch besser auf der Dachterrasse sitzen kann, ist es ein wunderbarer Ort, nicht nur um etwas zu essen oder zu trinken, sondern auch nebenbei einfach etwas Zeit zu verbringen. Schon oft habe ich mit meiner Freundin einfach stundenlang im Alex gesessen und einfach nur Getränk auf Getränk genossen während wir etwas gespielt oder gelesen haben. Dieses Mal waren wir zum gefühlt 100sten Mal für das grandiose Frühstücksbuffet da, welches für mich immer wieder ein Beispiel dafür abgibt, wie man richtig Gastro macht, sodass am Ende alle Gäste gesättigt und zufrieden nach Hause gehen können. (Mein persönlicher Tipp: Pancakes 🤤) Ich kann nur hoffen, dass uns das Alex noch viele viele weitere tolle Jahre erhalten bleiben wird, und unsere Gütersloher Innenstadt weiter bereichert, wie es das schon seit so vielen Jahren tut. In diesem Sinne nochmal einen herzlichen Dank für die vielen vielen bereicherten Stunden, die mir das Alex Team in meinem Leben schon beschert hat. Macht immer so weiter und bleibt wie ihr seid. Mehr ist dazu nicht zu sagen.

Der Chefkoch schmeißt sonntags früh den Laden, ohne mit der Wimper zu zucken. Das Frühstück am Sonntag ist stets eine Freude für den Gaumen. Der offene Kochbereich ist nicht nur tadellos, sondern auch eine Freude fürs Auge, denn bekanntlich isst das Auge mit. Alles wird professionell hergerichtet. Das Essen ist reichlich da und wird bei Bedarf umgehend nachgefüllt. Die Auswahl lässt keine Kritik zu.

Perfect place to go out. Amazing food and service

Wir waren zum Brunchen da. 14,90 € für das Frühstücksbuffet finden wir fair. Genauso 2,90 € für einen Cafe. Beim Buffet gibt es viele Sorten Obst (Melone, Erdbeeren, Ananas, etc.), einiges an Aufschnitt (ver. Sorten Käse, Wurst, Cremes, etc.) und vieles mehr. Wir sind mit der Qualität sehr zufrieden. Einzig beim Ambiente ziehen wir einen Stern für die Lautstärke im Lokal ab.

Nachdem ich die letzten Male vom Service enttäuscht war, wurde ich nun positiv überrascht. Es wurde eine neue, engagierte und sehr freundliche Bedienung eingestellt, die uns nicht lange warten lies und auch die anderen Gäste gewissenhaft bedient hat. Auch die sanitären Anlagen waren diesmal sauber. Die Getränke waren wie immer gut.

Ich ging eigentlich oft mit Freundinnen ins Alex, aber der Service hat seit einiger Zeit nachgelassen. Das Personal ist zwar nach wie vor freundlich, aber sehr lange Wartezeiten, vergessene Bestellungen und die Unaufmerksamkeit der Bedienungen häufen sich. Ach und die Kellnerin, die mich gestern zu Beginn 10 min. lang ignoriert hat, obwohl sie 5 mal an mir vorbei gelaufen ist, hat mich beim Herausgehen sekundenlang angeschaut und hat es nicht geschafft, sich zu verabschieden. Auch die sanitären Anlagen bzw. deren Sauberkeit lassen zu wünschen übrig - und damit meine ich nicht die aktuellen Baumaßnahmen. Die Getränke und Speisen sind in der regen gut.

A mio parere il locale non è esattamente un ristorante... Sta di fatto che dentro è molto carino e la quantità di gente che va e viene lo rende ancora più piacevole. Il tipo di cucina però non è molto definito, così come i piatti non sono molto ricercati

Wir kamen aus Schwerin und schlugen mit ca. 40 Personen im ALEX auf. Ob mit Vorreservierung oder spontan, wir wurden herzlich begrüßt und waren von Lokalität, Essen und Personal begeistert. Super!
