Etwas dunkel gehalten, ich kenne das Alex aus Saarbrücken, das ist freundlicher in Form von heller. Ändere den. Das Essen war. Prima, we vom Alex bekannt. Der Milchkaffee auch perfekt, allerdings gibt es in Saarbrücken eine Tasse, die fast doppelt so groß ist, wenn man einen großen Kaffee bestellt.

Beim zweiten Besuch, war alles außer das Ambiente schlechter, als beim ersten Besuch. Service hatte ein Hauptspeise als Vorspeise falsch gebucht. Insgesamt war alles diesesmal eher Durchschnitt. Echt Schade!

Sehr kurze Speisekarte, nur ein vegetarisches Gericht, teuer, aber tolles Ambiente. Bei der Deko gibt es jede Minute Neues zu entdecken. Ich komme aber zum (vegetarischen!!) Essen und daher nur 2 Sterne.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 Sterne Ich war im ALEX in Gütersloh in der Innenstadt essen und war wirklich begeistert. Schon beim Ankommen fiel die freundliche und aufmerksame Art des Personals auf. Das Team war absolut auf Zack – die Getränke wurden schnell aufgenommen, die Bestellung konnte zügig aufgegeben werden und man fühlte sich von Anfang an bestens aufgehoben. Besonders überzeugt haben mich die Qualität der Getränke und des Essens. Alles war sehr schön angerichtet und geschmacklich wirklich hervorragend. Trotz des Betriebs lief alles reibungslos und professionell ab. Auch die Sauberkeit verdient ein großes Lob. Das gesamte Restaurant machte einen sehr gepflegten Eindruck. Zudem wurde uns die Wahl gegeben, ob wir drinnen oder draußen sitzen möchten, was den positiven Gesamteindruck zusätzlich unterstrichen hat. Die Location mitten in der Innenstadt ist ebenfalls sehr schön und lädt zum Verweilen ein. Was mich besonders überrascht hat, waren die Preise. Für die gebotene Qualität und den Service fand ich sie sehr fair und absolut angemessen. Insgesamt ein rundum gelungenes Erlebnis mit hervorragendem Service, leckerem Essen, angenehmer Atmosphäre und fairen Preisen. Ich kann das ALEX Gütersloh uneingeschränkt empfehlen und vergebe sehr gerne 5 Sterne. 👍🏻

Wir sind begeistert - sehr nette Bedienung, tolle und leckere Auswahl beim Frühstücksbuffet, sauberes WC und richtig tolle Inneneinrichtung! Wir waren auch schon zum Mittag hier. Es gibt eine tolle Auswahl an Gerichten und hat bisher alles mega geschmeckt.

Gehen hier immer wieder zum brunchen,riesen Auswahl. Auch nachmittags,ist es dort sehr lecker.

Ich war gemeinsam mit meiner Tochter dort. Das Essen war zwar wirklich lecker, allerdings wurde der gesamte Besuch durch das Verhalten einiger Mitarbeiterinnen massiv überschattet. Meiner Tochter ist versehentlich die Gabel heruntergefallen. Als wir höflich nach einer neuen gefragt haben, reagierte eine blonde, etwas kräftigere Mitarbeiterin extrem unfreundlich: Sie verdrehte genervt die Augen, seufzte demonstrativ und gab meiner Tochter die Gabel mit einem herablassenden „Ach okay…“. Ein derart respektloses Verhalten gegenüber einem Kind ist absolut unangemessen und schlicht peinlich für ein Restaurant, das Wert auf Service legen sollte. Noch schlimmer war jedoch, dass mehrere andere Mitarbeiter direkt vor der Theke standen, das Ganze offensichtlich mitbekommen haben und lieber lachten bzw. zusahen, anstatt professionell einzugreifen. Dieses Verhalten wirkte unprofessionell, unreif und vollkommen fehl am Platz. Außerdem habe ich währenddessen öfter die Namen „Jacky“ oder „Jenny“ gehört, einer dieser beiden Namen gehörte vermutlich zu der respektlosen Mitarbeiterin. So behandelt man weder Gäste noch Kinder. Freundlichkeit und Respekt sollten eigentlich das Minimum sein, besonders im Kundenservice. Gutes Essen bringt leider wenig, wenn man sich menschlich so unwillkommen fühlen muss.

Als Vorspeise haben wir die Falafel probiert – schön knusprig außen, innen weich und gut gewürzt. Ein solider Start! Als Hauptgang gab es den Ugly Butcher Burger – saftig, gut belegt und genau das Richtige, wenn man Lust auf einen ordentlichen Burger hat. Hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Dazu noch die Spaghetti Linguine Cacio e Pepe – cremig, schön pfeffrig und geschmacklich wirklich gelungen. Klassisch gut zubereitet. Insgesamt ein angenehmer Abend mit gutem Essen und netter Atmosphäre. Kommt sicher wieder!

Alles war wirklich rundum gelungen. Das Restaurant Alex überzeugt mit einer angenehmen, gemütlichen Atmosphäre, in der man gern länger sitzen bleibt. Der Service war aufmerksam, freundlich und gut organisiert – genau so, wie man es sich wünscht. Die Speisen wurden zügig serviert und waren nicht nur geschmacklich auf einem hohen Niveau, sondern auch optisch sehr ansprechend angerichtet. Man merkt, dass hier Wert auf Qualität und Details gelegt wird. Insgesamt ein sehr gelungener Besuch – ein Ort, zu dem man gerne zurückkehrt.

Große Auswahl-vielerlei Kombination-lecker! Getränke hätte der Service besser organisieren können-ein Freund hatte eine Kaffeeflat da hat er aber immer nur auf mehrfache Nachfrage welchen bekommen. Preis ist üppig soviel kann keiner essen...

Waren im Rahmen der "Komischen Nacht" in Gütersloh im Alex Essen. Es war eine sehr gelungene Veranstaltung. Das Essen war exzellent (Rip eye on the Point Medium Rare) und das Personal Freundlich, zuvorkommend und professionell! Bin ewig nicht mehr da gewesen, muss aber sagen, hat sich zum Positiven weiterentwickelt. Gerne wieder.

Ich war vor Kurzem dort essen und trinken und war wirklich positiv überrascht. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt absolut – für das, was man bekommt, ist es wirklich fair. Die Speisen waren sehr lecker und man merkt, dass alles frisch zubereitet wird. Besonders hervorheben muss man aber den Service. So freundlich, aufmerksam und sympathisch wird man wirklich selten bedient. Man fühlt sich direkt willkommen, ohne dass es irgendwie gekünstelt wirkt. Alles in allem eine sehr runde Sache. Gutes Essen, faire Preise und ein richtig angenehmer Service. Ich komme gerne wieder.

Essen und Service super etwas eng und kleine Tische.

Der Tisch, der uns zum Sitzen gezeigt wurde – in der Ecke der Küche vor der Servicetür, zusammen mit dem Geschirr.

Heute waren wir im Alex in Gütersloh. Wir haben uns sehr auf den Abend gefreut und sind mit guter Laune reingekommen. Das Personal war ganz okay. Wir haben uns eine Deluxe Currywurst bestellt und diverse Cocktails getrunken. Nun muss ich leider sagen, dass ich nicht wirklich überzeugt von der Deluxe Currywurst war. Ich fand, die Portierung war nicht ganz gerecht und auch die versprochene Trüffelmayonnaise fand ich nicht ganz original getreu. 15,10 € finde ich etwas buchmäßig noch mal würde ich es nicht tun. Vielleicht kommen wir wieder. Meine Frau fand die Cocktails lecker.

Gemütliche gedimmte Atmosphäre, mit Sitzmöglichkeiten draußen und bei gutem Wetter, oben auf der Dachterasse. Eine der schönsten Anlaufstellen in Gütersloh meiner Meinung :)

Wir gehen sehr gerne ins Alex. Sowohl zum Frühstück wie auch zum Mittagessen oder abends mal auf einen Cocktail. Die Lage mitten in der Innenstadt ist super, und das Restaurant hat eine angenehme Atmosphäre, in der man sich wohlfühlt. Das Frühstück ist vielfältig und frisch. Besonders schön ist die große Auswahl, sodass für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei ist. Auch die warmen Gerichte und Drinks sind lecker. Der Service ist freundlich und aufmerksam. Insgesamt ein schönes Restaurant, zu dem wir immer wieder gern zurückkommen.

Ich war also im Urlaub in Gütersloh, fernab von meinem Zuhause in Manchester, England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿, wo ich während meiner Zeit bei der britischen Armee in der Mansergh-Kaserne in der Verlerstraße stationiert war. Zum ersten Mal seit 20 Jahren besuchte ich die Alex Bar, die zu meiner Überraschung auch nach 20 Jahren noch existierte. Ich hatte mich über die Jahre durch die Cocktail- und Bierkarte der Alex Bar getrunken 🍸, daher war die Rückkehr nach Gütersloh und in die Alex Bar ein surreales Erlebnis. Das Personal war höflich und freundlich. Die Alex Bar 🍸 hat sich zwar zu einem Restaurant entwickelt, ist aber immer noch dieselbe alte Alex Bar, die ich und viele andere, die in der Mansergh-Kaserne oder der Princess Royal Barracks gedient haben, so sehr mochten. Ich veröffentliche viele Rezensionen auf Google und gebe stets meine ehrliche Meinung zu allem ab – von Essen, Sauberkeit, Getränken, Service, Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, Ambiente usw. Allein auf Google habe ich über 40 Millionen Aufrufe. Ich habe alles Mögliche bewertet: von Erlebnissen in Manchester mit meiner Frau über kulinarische Reisen im In- und Ausland bis hin zu Tourneen durchs Land, um meinen geliebten Verein Oldham Athletic anzufeuern, und natürlich auch Tagesausflüge und Urlaubsreisen mit meiner Frau. Ich habe alles bewertet: Restaurants, Bars, Strände, Strandclubs, Taxis, Flughäfen, Flüge, Schönheitsbehandlungen, Friseure, Hotels, Kirchen, Basiliken, Schießstände, Friseure, Fußballstadien usw. Meine Reiseziele reichten von Manchester über Split (Kroatien), Hvar (Kroatien), Supetar (Brac, Kroatien), Rom (Italien), den Vatikan (Italien), Béziers-Cap d'Agde (Südfrankreich), Montpellier (Südfrankreich), Podgorica (Montenegro), Budva (Montenegro), Tirana (Albanien), Saranda (Albanien), Ksamil (Albanien), Krakau (Polen), Zakopane (Polen) bis nach Santa Maria de Sal (Kap Verde).

Das Essen ist sehr gut, der Service ausgezeichnet und die Atmosphäre ebenfalls toll. Ich kann es nur empfehlen

The food was really good for the price, however, the service left much to be desired; orders were incorrectly processed. Ordering a drink became a monumental task, as did ordering dessert, which then arrived with a significant delay. There were only two of us eating, so it should have been possible to serve dessert at the same time.

I was pleasantly surprised by the attractive location and the diverse menu! Unfortunately, my vegan tarte flambée was a disappointment: the first one had cold dough, but they apologized and took it back. The second one was okay, but because the (cold) topping was loose on the tarte flambée, it all fell off while I ate it. Why don't you use vegan cream as a substitute for crème fraîche? Then the topping would stick. For €13, I, being a lightweight, wasn't even remotely satisfied. However, the other six people at the table were all happy, and the service was exceptionally friendly and attentive. We'll gladly come back, and I'll try the other vegan dishes!

We ate at Alex several times, but unfortunately the food wasn't great; it was below average for the chain (a real shame). There were many careless mistakes made by both the service and kitchen staff. There's a lot of room for improvement.

I'm a frequent customer. But today, November 8th at 2:30 pm, the service was incredibly unfriendly and the staff were in a bad mood. Never again!

Breakfast was very good with a wide selection. The staff was incredibly friendly.

There were four of us at Alex, and our visit was extremely disappointing. Upon entering the restaurant, no one paid any attention to us—no greeting, no inquiry, no indication of a table. We ended up sitting down at an empty table ourselves, which didn't have a reservation sign. After about 10 minutes, a waiter came by without mentioning that the table was reserved. Only then did a waitress approach and inform us in an unfriendly tone that the table was reserved. When we explained that there was neither a sign nor had anyone informed us, she simply said, "It doesn't matter now, you'll have to get up anyway." Instead, she offered us two unattractive tables that obviously no one wanted. Our feedback was completely ignored. No attempt at accommodation, no "We're sorry," nothing. The service was disrespectful, and we never felt welcome. We left without ordering anything. Disorganized, unfriendly, and absolutely no customer service – and this isn't the first time… We certainly won't be coming back and cannot recommend this place.

The evening was very special. There was something for everyone. The service was very friendly and attentive. Keep up the good work.

We went for breakfast; it's a buffet: you pay one amount and get whatever you want from the buffet, as much as you want. Drinks are extra! The food was delicious, but the selection was pretty basic. I missed the fish and vegetables.

A super delicious selection, very tasty. Excellent value for money, and the staff are very friendly. Even without a reservation, they make every effort to get you a table.

I booked the brunch buffet this morning (11:30 am) for my wife and I. We had a delicious meal, and the service was also good. I don't know what it normally costs there, but I was charged €59.10. The website said it was €13.50 per person without drinks. We had five coffees and one orange juice, but in hindsight, I don't think that's correct? 🤔

Recommended, but somewhat unfortunate location.

The Alex is good, but the staff seems to change very often and is completely inattentive. No one has come and asked for drinks for about an hour. Unfortunately, you can't make any money like that. This has to get better!

We went there for lunch at a chic restaurant with friendly staff. The Alex Burger was delicious.

Definitely always worth a visit

It's quite noisy downstairs. The rooftop terrace, however, is very pleasant. Nicely decorated. Service was quick, but not attentive. The table wobbled quite a bit, but apparently it wasn't that important. A shame. The food was okay, not a highlight, but okay.

Had a great evening here, only the waiter Freddy was annoying!

We had breakfast at Alex today. It was good again. We missed the orange juice and mineral water, and despite repeated requests, the salmon wasn't refilled. We'll be back.

Good food, and the breakfast buffet is worth it

The service is very friendly. Last time, everything took a little longer. My daughter is gluten-free, and allergens are clearly marked on the digital menu. She tolerated the food well. The prices have risen quite a bit.

Good food you can enjoy the roof terrace at the first floor, or the terrace at street level. Smoking is part of the culture so you have to deal with that while enjoying your diner..

What I find really embarrassing on the part of the restaurant, and what makes me embarrassed for them, is the fact that they remind you more than twice to tip if you want to pay by card. It's shoved in your face as if it were the most normal thing in the world. I find that really embarrassing. And I think the place is seriously overpriced in some areas. A juice that isn't even freshly squeezed for almost €7 is pretty outrageous. I love the seating inside and outside. But that's it.

We were at Alex's on Friday at 11 a.m. Unfortunately, the rolls were completely dry and hard... barely slicable... The bacon was also cold and hard... The scrambled eggs were also cold... Service was great again, and the atmosphere was, of course, very good... Unfortunately, that's why it only gets 4 out of 5 stars.

It's okay. The food was very tasty. However, there was so little pastrami on the pastrami sandwich that it was more like a fried egg sandwich. When we were serving, we thought the lady was probably new, but none of the other servers seemed to be interested in the empty plates. Conversation at the table is difficult unless you like to shout. It's really loud when the place is half full.

Trendy restaurant in the center of Gütersloh. When making the reservation, I specifically mentioned a small birthday party and requested a quiet table at the edge. Unfortunately, there was no such thing. The food is okay to good, unless a dish is forgotten, which is then later brought back cold or lukewarm. Initial orders were taken quickly, but for subsequent drink orders, I had to chase the staff. So, not a great experience at this restaurant.

Breakfast was great as always, and so was the service! The air conditioning is annoying when it's still chilly. Quite loud when it's full.

Was eating at Alex in Gütersloh tonight and I just have to say the whole meal was bad and does not justify the high price

I went there with my family for brunch on a Sunday. It was delicious and lovely. I'll do it again.

The chicken falafel bowls here are incredibly delicious. Special thanks to our employee Fero for the excellent and friendly service. Very nice location up on the terrace. I highly recommend it.

The food was good, but the waitress with the made-up lips was very rude. She didn't listen properly and said we weren't talking loudly enough.

Not recommended. At 11:15 p.m., I wanted to order a beer, but I wasn't even served. The men and women told me that unfortunately I couldn't order anything else because they were open until midnight. The two men and women were very unfriendly. So, I wouldn't even recommend it with a star. I really won't be coming here again.

I haven't been to Alex in Gütersloh for six months because I've already given constructive feedback several times over the last year as the quantities were getting smaller and the prices had risen significantly. I know everything has become more expensive and it is understandable that the prices had to be raised a bit. But reducing the quantity in this way when prices are rising at the same time is not okay. Unfortunately, they didn't work with my feedback, so the situation remained unchanged last year. Now I tried again. Unfortunately with a sobering result. A chicken bowl for €16.90 included a little lamb's lettuce, edamame, dressing, some cucumber and no less than three small chicken nuggets, where the breading was thicker than the chicken that was supposed to be inside. My companion had a similar experience with his fish and chips. Also three small fish nuggets with thick breading and a lot of sweet potato fries. Before the prices rose so much last year, I always enjoyed going to Alex. Unfortunately, Alex will now lose me as a customer for good, as I was once again very disappointed and my really constructive feedback was completely ineffective. Today I tried to give feedback again, but it was immediately dismissed that it had always been this way. That's true, but definitely not. Too bad!

We've been back to Alex for a while now. The personnel carousel is currently turning around a lot here, a young employee always runs with another at our table, as well as a young lady. However, it was friendly and everything went quickly. Everyone got what was ordered, both in terms of drinks and food. However, we miss a selection of 3 to 4 or 5 baguettes on the menu... There was mushroom and bruscetta, baked potato with chicken, pasta. For dessert, waffles with hot cherries and vanilla ice cream. See pictures. Next time I'd love to do it again.

On the A2 with my wife and our two kids – hungry and looking for something good. A quick detour to Café Alex in Gütersloh hit the mark! Fresh, super delicious food, a great open kitchen, friendly service – and the dessert was fabulous. Everyone was full and happy. Highly recommended for families passing through!

I came across the ALEX Gütersloh by chance. Friendly staff, nice to sit and eat, large selection. I enjoyed a burger, beautifully prepared, the eye is definitely eating here, the taste is excellent, freshly prepared. I felt comfortable and everything was right for me.

I really like the Alex in Gütersloh - compared to other restaurants in this chain, the others can really learn a lot. The food is always delicious, fresh and beautifully prepared. The service is also consistently friendly and attentive.

A truly beautiful restaurant with a warm, cozy atmosphere - perfect for feeling good. The furnishings are stylish, with great attention to detail. We were particularly impressed by the terrace - very tastefully designed, quietly located and ideal for enjoying the evening in a relaxed manner. The food was excellent, everything was fresh and prepared with a lot of love. I would particularly like to highlight Svetlana, who made our evening even more pleasant with her warm manner and attentive service.

I'm a regular at Alex Café and have never been disappointed. The food is fresh and well prepared, the staff friendly and attentive. A place to which you would like to return again and again.

A snack bar in the guise of a restaurant

Unfortunately the quality has decreased. Drinks and small snacks are great, but unfortunately the burgers don't work at all. The beef is of the worst quality, you can definitely taste the animal quality. Couldn't eat it at all. The fries were way too salty.
