Very nice restaurant. Delicious food with great service. Highly recommended.

It was supposed to be a pleasant 94th birthday meal. But unfortunately the quality of the food mixed together was very poor. I had the impression that the components had already been warmed up a few times. And it was really only lukewarm. I've never let a half-full plate go back. Not recommended. Really a shame.

The restaurant is beautifully located with a view of the Rhine and outdoor dining. The selection is large, the dishes are very tasty and attractively prepared, the service was friendly and we didn't have to wait too long. There are enough options for vegetarians too. Overall we were very satisfied and will come back! :-)

My first and last visit there. A much too Italian waiter who wants to be funny because he doesn't know what ingredients a dish has, spaghetti carbonara for €11 is too al dente and completely tasteless and bland (irony: thank God only a very small portion). If you don't want cucumbers in the salad, you will be asked to sort them out yourself and simply put them aside (for me, cucumbers in the salad are like licorice in a Haribo bag; everything tastes like it🤢). The "mixed salad" is 8€ rabbit food with a bit of corn, if you ask about the dressing you are told it was on the table (which had been in the heat all day), the cola beer was fine. In any case, it wasn't brought or cleared away by an Italian woman who almost put the tray on me several times. Of course, the mixed salad was not brought first as requested, but was forgotten and then placed on the very small table (with three people) together with the main course. The highlight and the icing on the cake was the independent and securely registered Romanian clarinet player and when he was finally finished, a grandfather set up an entire entertainment stand with a sign a few meters away. If we were in America, I would have been on the 8pm news last night. We left a painful €70 there. Conclusion: I'll just continue to stay with Bella Napoli, like I have for the last 30 years.

I was at AL Fiume on October 10th, 2024 and ordered a pizza margaritta for an impressive €9.30. To drink I ordered an apple spritzer. The pizza came almost cold and it tasted subterranean. After one bite I had enough. The worst pizza I have ever eaten and that at an Italian restaurant. The apple spritzer mixture is 90% water. €14.50 for nothing.

Well, it's not bad, but very tight. The tables are very narrow. There is no atmosphere of relaxation. This place hardly deserves the name "restaurant". A café on the banks of the Rhine, with a basic range of food and drinks.

We like to come there for lunch during the week, it's nice if you can sit outside.

We've been here several times to eat, but the quality isn't that good anymore. The service is disastrous and rude for such a restaurant. We were the only table who didn't even get a greeting from the kitchen, which every table got. And after several questions about a dessert, nothing came from the waiter. With so many waiters, it seemed to me that no one knew which table they were responsible for.

I've never rated anything here on Google Maps but today I'm taking the time to do it. I really want to emphasize the great service tonight. Nothing was missing. Water was refilled, when I went out to smoke the waiter came and brought me an ashtray and much more. The food was incredibly tasty and the eyes also enjoyed it. Not nice service, we had to wait 10 minutes for a waiter because people were talking at the next table. The Saltimboca was almost entirely fatty and overpriced at just under €26. There were also some grilled vegetables and enough rosemary potatoes. The calzone tasted good, but the inside could have been warmer. It's nice to sit by the Rhine, at tables without tablecloths. You could set up in the upper area of ​​the terrace. A not so nice dining experience for around €50.

Price-performance ratio is not right. We ate here yesterday, great location. We waited over an hour for the food to come. I had spaghetti "vongole" for €22 - a fairly manageable portion, pieces of mussel shell that I bit on, a bunch of very thick garlic slices and yet almost tasteless - but the meat in another dish (€26) was really badly oversalted. . It's a shame, ordered high quality, received inferior quality. Service visibly tried hard - you could clearly see the effort - more staff please!

Five of us spontaneously went to eat here. After we had previously decided on the Italian restaurant because of the outrageous service at a nearby location. Most of the tables in the lower area were strangely reserved, but no one sat at them during our entire stay. But we got a really nice, clean replacement table. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food we ordered was extremely sufficient. Which I can't even begin to say about my “grilled salmon”. I ordered croquettes with it. A small 250gram piece of salmon came with 7 croquettes and a 1/4 lemon. The plate served was 1/3 full of this “filling” for €25.60 (a very tasty small side salad was also included). When I asked, the very nice waiter brought me another piece of salmon. The taste was very good, both the pizza and the schnitzel, and the hint of salmon.

Tasty food, good prices at lunchtime...the service takes a long time, it's annoying that people who came long after us and probably regular guests were served far before us. A pity....

Table for 5 people on July 29th Reserved at 7 p.m. for a birthday. We were assigned a dirty table that was not cleaned afterwards. It took 30 minutes to order the drinks and there was no response to a show of hands. The meal that followed was miserable. The Bolognese schnitzel was tough and the spaghetti carbonara was the worst I've ever eaten, it was spaghetti with scrambled eggs. The complaint was ridiculed. Plus prices that have been washed out. The celebrated birthday was also not discussed. Once and never again.

We went out to eat on Monday, it was well attended but not too busy. The food was good, nothing to complain about. The service was catastrophic, I have rarely experienced something so unfriendly. The table was wiped down, everything was wet, the menu was shoved in front of us, and when we picked up the food the waiter made a face as if it was all too annoying for him. Nice location right on the Rhine. Eat good. Service has potential. We were there at lunchtime. It had been raining a bit recently, so we wanted to sit outside under one of the umbrellas. However, the first table was reserved and the service staff generously asked us to choose any other seat. However, that wasn't meant entirely seriously, because when we chose a table under an umbrella at the other end of the terrace, he came to us again and explained that unfortunately this table was also reserved and someone would be coming soon. We stayed there for over an hour and both tables remained deserted. It's hard to understand why you would expose yourself so badly and let the customer start with a negative experience. We then received the cards quickly, without any reference to the daily menu, which was written on a board a little further away. I got up, walked to the board and took a photo. We then ordered two of the daily specials and a pizza from the menu. The daily menu started with a mixed salad, which I would describe as decent. The two meals of the day were good and the size was manageable, but it suited us. We had to ask for the dessert that was part of the menu when we asked for the bill. Speaking of the bill. I wanted to pay by card, which is also possible. However, the employee urgently asked for cash payment and only offered card payment in absolute emergencies. Not really customer oriented either. Overall, the service staff at the table were all friendly and professional. However, I always had the feeling that we were more of a nuisance.

We ate on the terrace several times with our large, very loving dog. The food was always good. The waiters, on the other hand, were always unfriendly! They were always more busy arguing loudly in Italian than serving their guests. Missing spoons or parmesan were only brought after a reminder, etc. When we asked by phone whether we could eat in the restaurant with our large dog, we were told that of course it was possible. So we ate in the restaurant three times in the winter of 2023/2024. Our dog always lay well under the table and didn't bother anyone. The first time the food was good. The second time it wasn't good and the waiters were extremely rude. (So ​​even more rude than usual.) The third time, the food was absolutely miserable! We wanted to visit the restaurant again and see if the really bad food was an exception. So we visited Al Fiume again in May. Although there were still tables available at the back of the restaurant, we were offered the two tables for two right at the front, in the middle of the aisle! Where was the dog supposed to lie down? We don't understand why people don't simply say that (large) dogs are not welcome in the restaurant. That's not a problem at all and is completely understandable for us. (Especially since we asked beforehand by phone whether it was okay if we brought him with us.) But why do you obviously deliberately serve bad-tasting food to your customers? Why are you so extremely rude, rude and arrogant? We find this behavior very irritating and extremely disrespectful to his guests. When we visited restaurants, we noticed again and again that the cutlery wasn't really clean, there were cobwebs hanging in the toilet, no soap was filled, etc. In summary, we only have this feeling when we think of Al Fiume: The arrogance and unfriendliness of the waiters is hard to beat. What they are imagining remains their secret.

Conclusion from my better half: The octopus was very good, the side dishes were okay. 1x salad with mozzarella and Parma ham (including a small basket of bread) The salad was sufficient, but the dressing was unfortunately more than bland. All you could taste was oil and the hint of vinegar. Otherwise there were no spices in the dressing. Unfortunately there was no salt and pepper. Unfortunately, the mozzarella was mini Morazarella like you can buy in Lidl, for example, and the Parma ham was also out of the package. Unfortunately not a brilliant achievement for a supposedly authentic Italian restaurant. Not to mention the bread, because it was beyond dry. My guess, probably from the day before. It's a real shame, but the waitress kindly accepted my suggestion about dressing and bread. During our stay the service staff ran around quite uncoordinated. From our point of view, the interaction with other guests was at times very harsh and insubordinate. When I went to the toilet, you could hear one of the wait staff in the kitchen loudly complaining about guests in Italian. All of us who were sitting relatively close to the entrance also had to listen to the loud argument between one of the service staff and his wife. CONCLUSION: Average restaurant with potential. The employees should perhaps structure themselves better and take a breather every now and then. Then it won't be so hectic and you can keep an overview. Would I go there again? Rather less. If you understand a little Italian and hear what the employees say to each other (about guests), it's the worst "gutter language". That's really borderline. We've loved coming here so far, but after today's visit we won't be going back! When we got there I asked if we could just have a drink. It said “have a seat”. I asked for vegan dishes during Lent. Answer: salad. However, there was only one salad on the menu that was an option, so I ordered it. He was ok, but not anymore.
