Al B'Andy in Solingen

We were promised a drinks dispenser, which is why we waited. When it later turned out that it wasn't available, there was neither an apology nor any form of compensation. My initial discussion was with a blonde employee who, in my opinion, treated me very disrespectfully and rudely. Instead of clarifying the situation or showing understanding, I was made to feel like I was to blame for everything. During my second attempt to resolve the issue, I was referred to a part-time employee who was left completely on his own and had to handle the situation without any support from the rest of the team. In my view, it should have been the responsibility of the permanent staff to support him and intervene professionally – but this didn't happen. Overall, the entire process seemed disorganized, impolite, and lacking in customer focus. A professionally run restaurant would have handled this differently. Based on this experience, I unfortunately cannot recommend Al’Bandy.

The store is a cult favorite. And yet, it has to be said that when it comes to service, there's always room for improvement. It's neither fast nor reliable. Minor errors often occur with billing or orders. It's forgivable, as the food and the store are truly top-notch.

I recently visited Al Bundy's and left with mixed feelings. First, the positives: The ambiance of the restaurant is truly outstanding. The decor is harmonious, there's a pleasant atmosphere, and you feel quite welcome from the moment you arrive. The food was also—let's say—acceptable. Not a culinary highlight, but solid home-style cooking that serves its purpose. What massively spoils the overall impression, however, is the completely disastrous service. The staff was not only unfriendly, but downright disinterested. Questions were met with an eye roll, orders only came after repeated requests, and at no point did you feel like a guest. I've rarely experienced anything like it. The absolute low point, however, was the condition of the restrooms. I really don't have high expectations for restaurant restrooms, but what was offered here was simply disgusting.

After a more or less well-known Solingen food critic recently elevated Al B'andy to the culinary Olympus in an epic ode, I naturally had to go back. I mean, if a creamed mushroom schnitzel with skin-on fries becomes a spiritual experience, who am I to ignore it? So off I go: into the beer garden, open the menu – no fermented mustard jus in sight, but instead, good old schnitzel, a burger, chicken curry, and – of course – the obligatory octopus. Everything beautifully presented, delicious, and properly made. The fries? Yes, really crispy. The sauce? Not from a bag. The beer? Cold. And yet, anyone looking for culinary revival here is more likely to find it with their third Augustiner than in a chanterelle cream reduction. Because, with all due respect, Al Bandy remains what it is: a solid brewery with regional aspirations, a bit of a hipster touch, but without the obligation to wear beard oil. So: Good? Yes. More? No. Less? Not even that. Just exactly what you'd expect if you didn't arrive with food photography equipment. In short: If you're not expecting miracles, but just want a decent meal in a pleasant atmosphere – welcome to Al. And that's something.

Delicious food, friendly service, and a lovely beer garden—Al Bandy is definitely worth a visit. It's especially great outside in the summer. My only minor criticism: The fabric canopy has seen better days—a bit of retro charm, but it could use some updating. Nevertheless, it's a nice place with a relaxed atmosphere!

Today, unfortunately, we were quite disappointed. We reserved a table for 7:30 p.m. and wanted something to eat and drink. Unfortunately, we had to wait quite a while before we could order drinks, and in the process, we asked for a menu, which never arrived. After about 20 minutes, we asked another server, who immediately brought us one. Unfortunately, no one came to take our order. We finished our drinks and decided to leave. It's a real shame, but when a lot of tables are occupied, you can't relax and eat there because you might not get anything.

The staff greets you immediately at the entrance and will accompany you to the correct table if necessary. Our order was taken promptly, and the food was delivered correctly after a very reasonable wait time. Special requests are no problem. You can't blame the good weather, but it did create a great atmosphere in the open beer garden. I'd love to come back!

We are very happy to have chosen this restaurant for our dinner during our stay in Solingen. The asparagus with triplets, hollandaise and schnitzel was just really good! The taste, quality of the food and the super friendly service are definitely recommended!

We hadn't been here for a few years. Always good food served, but on this day we were a bit disappointed with the burgers. The meat didn't taste freshly prepared, it was very well done and difficult to cut even with a steak knife. Too bad. Despite reservations, there was the smallest, darkest place, even though many tables were free.

We had a lovely evening at Al B'Andy. The benches creak a little, but this adds to the charm. Both the food and drinks were very tasty, although not cheap. Card payment is not possible, but PayPal is, so that was enough as an alternative for us. You could park in the surrounding streets. Entrance via stairs, I didn't see an alternative there.

When you walk past the store it smells like garbage for a few days now, but extremely.

Me and my family always have the impression that we're not going out to eat, but rather that we've met up with friends for dinner. You feel like you're at home. Das Al B‘Andy ist immer einen Besuch wert. Till und sein Team sind perfekt. Bier kühl und schnell am und im Gast. Wahnsinnige Auswahl an Getränken. Für jeden was dabei. Beim Essen legt man wert auf Qualität. Und das ist richtig so. Wir waren immer total zufrieden. Achja, der Service sollte besonders erwähnt werden. Schnell, super freundlich und immer am Lächeln. Man merkt dass es ein Team ist.

We were here at the public viewing: it's worth being early! Unfortunately there was only a select beer garden menu, but the food was delicious and we had a good view of the TV. Would definitely come back to test the regular card.

I was invited to a birthday - we had a delicious buffet with salmon from the smoker (super delicious!) and meat/sausage from the grill. There were also delicious salads, baguettes and delicious herb butter. It's a shame that the restaurant is so far away from my home!

The food is tasty but quite expensive. But the drinks have a pleasant price, so the whole thing evens out. The service is nice, patient and drinks always arrive quickly.

So, we/I have been going to Bundy since the lockdown period, back then it was only for take away and I've loved this place ever since! The food is some of the best I've ever had the pleasure of eating. And no, I'm not exaggerating! Yesterday I had a Philly cheese sandwich and that alone was a culinary highlight this year. In addition, all the people who run the place are just great! (Greetings to Laura from yesterday 😉) I/we will go there very often and have a great time. Thanks that you exist!

Great service with the food, only a few things to complain about. The potatoes weren't quite cooked through, I'll say, but otherwise they were great. Had salmon lasagna, potato gratin and chicken breast dishes.

Disappointing. Went here again with a group after years. The handball European Championship game could not be seen in the former “handball bar”. Nobody could tell us why. When it came to the food, we were also referred to a “small” menu. When we asked, we were told that the kitchen couldn't handle this for larger groups. 14 people of which 9 people wanted something to eat. After asking three times, we were allowed to choose from the regular menu. I didn't go to a restaurant, but to a pub with food. The service and the ordering/billing system clearly need improvement. The food was well prepared and delicious.

Wir haben für unseren Mädelsabend (Ü50) einen Tisch für 18Uhr reserviert. Gut so,denn hinterher wurde es echt voll,obwohl es ein Wochentag war. Das Essen war gut,der Service freundlich. Wir haben am letzten Tisch links gesessen,bevor es zur Treppe in den Wintergarten geht. Zwei Dinge fanden wir nicht so gut: Es war sehr zugig und sehr fußkalt,ein Grund,warum wir hinterher früher als gedacht gegangen sind. Außerdem stehen die Tische extrem nah beieinander,sodass man immer das Gefühl hat,man muss leiser sprechen,damit der Nebentisch nicht mit diskutiert...was aber aufgrund des gut gefüllten Ladens und der Lautstärke nicht möglich ist. Wir kommen sicher wieder,dann aber ein Tisch woanders und wenn's wärmer ist😂. Wir freuen uns aber mit und über die Wiedereröffnung,hat schon gefehlt.

Das Al B'Andy ist eigentlich seit Jahrzehnten eine Bank wenn man in lockerer Atmosphäre mit Freunden ein Bier trinken oder leckeres Essen zu fairen Preisen haben möchte. Die Speisekarte ist super vielfältig und hier muss einfach jeder fündig werden. Die Preise sind moderat und die Qualität der Speisen ist sehr gut. Die jungen Servicekräfte sind freundlich und aufmerksam. Insbesondere am Wochenende kann es auch schon mal etwas voller und ggf. lauter werden. Eine absolute Empfehlung für Junge und Junggebliebene.

Sehr schöner Aussenbereich. Drinnen urig,es riecht etwas muffig und nach altem Fett. Bitte Chips und Fisch auf einem Teller servieren,aus einer kleinen Salatschüssel zu essen ist unkonfortabell.

Das Essen ist sehr gut, Burger, Schnitzel, Fisch, sehr gutes Preisleistungsverhältnis. Schöner Biergarten zum draußen sitzen, schnelle und zuvorkommende Bedienung. Publikum ist breit gefächert, egal ob jung oder alt.

Wir waren zu zweit auf der kleinen Terrasse. Sehr gemütlich. Der Service von Beginn bis zum Abschied war wirklich hervorragend. Das Essen war lecker. Ich hatte einen genialen Burger mit Pommes und Salat und zum Nachtisch ein Schokotörtchen. Es war sehr lecker. Mein Highlight war die Homemade Lemonade Zitrone. Lecker und erfrischend. Wir waren bestimmt nicht das letzte Mal dort.

Das Essen ist ok, reicht aber nicht für einen erneuten Besuch. Außerdem war die Wartezeit zwischen Vorspeise und Hauptgang, für unseren Geschmack, zu lang. Ausschließlich Barzahlung oder per Paypal geht im Jahre 2023 gar nicht. Vor allem, wenn weit und breit kein Geldautomat ist. Auch für eine „urige Kneipe“ ist das nicht zeitgemäß.

Sehr rustikale Gastwirtschaft, sehr gemütlich. Zwei Außenbereiche ,sehr leckeres Essen ,auch optisch sehr Appetitlich angerichtet .Nettes Personal, man fühlt sich direkt willkommen

Essen ok. Durchschnittlicher Biergartenniveau.Service Katastrophe. Unflexibel. Einfachste Sonderwünsche nicht möglich. Statt Kartoffelstampf wollte man Kartoffeln. Das ginge nicht.Stellt sich die Frage woraus der Kartoffelstampf hergestellt wird? Anderes Beilagengemüse war auch nicht möglich. Personal wußte noch nicht mal richtig was in der Genüsemischung alles drin ist.Nüchterne Gäste bekommen dazu noch vorgeschrieben das Sie ihr Getränk zum Rauchen gehen nicht mit rausnehmen dürfen .Kundenorientierung und Freundlichkeit bleiben hier auf der Strecke. Die Absolute Krönung ist das man nicht mit EC Karte bezahlen kann was man normalerweise zu 99.9 Prozent überall kann. Nur Bargeld oder PayPal möglich. Absolut lächerlich dieser Laden

Gute Essen und große Auswahl, Mann kann auch Tisch reservieren und Sehr schöne Atmosphäre mal draußen wie auch drin ist unterschiedliche gesammelten Erfahrungen und konnten draußen Fußball schauen dagegen drinnen war ruhig und romantisch nach Tisch musste verbessert und die Parkplätze sind immer schwer zu finden trotzdem 5 Sterne

Leckeres Essen, super freundliches Personal. Obwohl sehr viel Betrieb war, kam das Essen zügig. Die hausgemachte Limo ist zu empfehlen. Kommen wieder.

Gemütlich! Altes bergisches Haus mit viel Holz, hat seinen Charme! leckere, große Portionen, US-amerikanisch beeinflusste Küche. Sehr freundliches Personal!!! Auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert!

Nettes junges Personal und Publikum. Gemütlich eingerichtet und eine gute Auswahl an Speisen. Hier kann man einen schönen Abend verbringen. Leider beim Essen ein paar mal daneben gegriffen. Die veganen Chili-Cheese-Fries waren sehr trocken, Die vegetarische Currywurst ist in einer stückigen Sauce ertrunken. Leider war einmal in einer Sauce Schinkenstückchen obwohl wir vorher gefragt hatten ob die Sauce vegetarisch ist. Aber das ist alles vertretbar. Dafür gibt's einen Stern Abzug und ich komme trotzdem gerne wieder.

Höfliches Personal, gutes Essen, allerdings kann man leider nach 21 Uhr am Wochenende nicht mehr reservieren. Somit mussten wir schon häufiger die Pläne für den Freitag oder Samstag Abend umwerfen.

Am späten Abend wird draus eine nette Deutsche Bar, Preise sind gut, eher Ländlicheres Ambiente und die Partys sind zum empfehlen. Einziger minuspunkt ist der lgbtq stempel.

In der Corona Zeit haben wir dort gerne bestellt, jetzt auch Mal wieder Vorort gegessen, wie immer alles sehr lecker von der Vorspeise bis zum Nachtisch. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Alles Top und nichts zu beanstanden.

Immer wieder ein Besuch wert. Leckeres Essen, frisch gezapftes und eine familiäre Atmosphäre. Wer in Solingen wohnt und das Al B'Andy nicht kennt, hat definitiv was verpasst. Also, ab auf ein Bierchen mit Freunden 😉
