AKL Libanesisches Restaurant in Aachen

Libanesische Küche in der Aachener Altstadt. Mal Mutig sein und den Reis bestellen anstelle von Pommes. Leute, mehr geht nicht! Ich war absolut zufrieden.

Wir waren nach einem schweren Tag mit der ganzen Familie dort. Bei gutem Essen und angenehmen Ambiente konnten wir gut abschalten.

Der Geschmack war überdurchschnittlich; die Hähnchenspieße waren nicht trocken, und die Hackfleischspieße vom Rind und Lamm waren aromatisch und hatten keinen strengen Wildgeschmack. Die Salatdressings hingegen waren eher enttäuschend. Aber was will man für diesen Preis mehr in Bezug auf Menge und Qualität? Zu Stoßzeiten ist es schwierig, einen Platz zu finden, und viele Gäste nehmen ihr Essen mit; die Auslastung war akzeptabel.

Das Essen war insgesamt ok. Mein Gericht war sehr trocken. 8 Fleisch Bällchen ohne Saucen. Das Brot war auch nur geht so. Die andere Gäste hat es auch nicht geschmeckt.

Mein Lieblings-Dönerladen. Er ist lecker und preiswert. Der Service ist allerdings durchwachsen. Im Durchschnitt wartet man nach der Bestellung etwa 15 Minuten, manchmal aber auch weniger als eine Minute, manchmal über 30 Minuten.

​Wir waren schrecklich hungrig und ich hatte genau auf diese Küche Lust. Die Portion für zwei Personen war riesig, das haben wir gar nicht geschafft. Auch die Kinderportion war groß! Alles war sehr lecker! Wenn ich mal wieder in Aachen bin, kommen wir auf jeden Fall wieder dort essen!

Großartiges, gut gewürztes Essen

Auf der Webseite wird groß mit Catering geworben, in der Realität ist davon leider nichts zu merken. E-Mail-Anfragen werden entweder komplett ignoriert oder man erhält pauschale Absagen mit der Begründung, man sei bereits ausgebucht - und das selbst bei mehreren Terminen, die mehr als ein halbes Jahr in der Zukunft liegen. Da dies kein Einzelfall ist, wirkt das Angebot auf der Webseite leider unprofessionell. Wenn dieser Service nicht garnicht mehr gewollt ist oder die Kapazitäten dafür schlicht nicht gegeben sind, sollte man das Catrin dringend von der Webseite entfernen. Das würde potenziellen Kunden und auch dem Restaurant selbst eine Menge unnötiger Anfragen ersparen. Wer verlässlich für ein Event planen möchte, sollte sich lieber direkt an einen reinen Partyservice wenden.

Sehr Empfehlenswert. Der Chef hat uns, 4 Personen im Urlaub, ein tolles Menü zusammengestellt. Von allem etwas. Alles sehe lecker und sein Personal super nett. Wenn wir wieder in.Aachen sind werden wir dort auf alle Fälle wieder essen gehen!

Wir waren gestern wieder beim Akl. Service wie immer sehr freundlich,das Essen wie immer mega lecker.Ich finde es auch gut,das man jetzt online reservieren kann,so muss man keine Bedenken keinen Platz zu bekommen.;-))))

Wir saßen auf der Terrasse und haben daher von der Atmosphäre drinnen nicht viel mitbekommen. Zwei Betriebe haben sich zusammengeschlossen; früher war es wohl nur ein Imbiss. Der kleine Laden nebenan ist neu dazugekommen und sehr hübsch eingerichtet. Das Essen war lecker, überhaupt nicht salzig, aber gut gewürzt. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder, um etwas anderes zu probieren. Das Shawarma ist unvergleichlich mit dem niederländischen Shawarma; das ist wirklich etwas ganz anderes.

Masha'Allah ☝️ Ich bin auf einer Motorradtour und habe nach einem Halal-Restaurant gesucht. Dieses hier ist absolut empfehlenswert! Reserviert am besten, da die Straße sehr voll war und man lange auf sein Essen warten musste. Ein großes Lob an den Koch und sein Team! Sie haben wunderschönes, leckeres Essen zubereitet, und die Preise sind viel zu günstig – sie sollten ruhig mehr verlangen. Alhamdulillah ☝️ Wenn ihr in der Gegend seid, lohnt sich ein Abstecher. Es war außerdem Spieltag der marokkanischen Nationalmannschaft 🇲🇦 auf zwei Großbildleinwänden. Ich hatte einen tollen Abend mit netten Leuten und habe unvergessliche Erinnerungen gesammelt. Ich finde, dieses Restaurant ist ein absolutes Muss, wenn man Aachen besucht! Es wurde mir bei meinem ersten Besuch empfohlen und seitdem ist es für mich sogar ein Grund, Aachen immer wieder zu besuchen.

Ein kleines, süßes Restaurant, freundliche Mitarbeiter & vom Essen fange ich erst garnicht an: einfach perfekt! A+

Der beigelegte Salat war etwas geschmacklos im Vergleich, ggf. mehr soße/ frische Zitrone dazu wäre gut gewesen. Ansonsten war alles mega lecker! Umfrage-Fragen kaum lesbar, da dunkle schrift und dunkler hintergrund

Das Essen ist insgesamt gut für den Preis, jedoch qualitätmäßig inkonsequent. Die Verhaltensweise des Personals ist aber leider eher unprofessionell und wirkt manchmal unhöflich und diskriminierend.

Es war sehr, sehr lecker. Nicht umsonst stehen die Leute Schlange. Reservierung unbedingt notwendig. Für jeden Geldbeutel was dabei - gute Portionen.

Als wir das Restaurant betraten, warteten wir, bis wir bedient wurden. Da kam eine kleine, lockenköpfige Angestellte, ohne uns auch nur anzusprechen, mit gerunzelter Stirn und sagte: „Ja, lassen Sie mich Ihnen helfen“, wobei sie uns einen seltsamen Blick zuwarf, als wollte sie sagen: „Warum stehen Sie denn so da?“ Wir waren überrascht. Dann bot sie uns einen Tisch an. Abgesehen von dieser Frau waren alle anderen Angestellten hilfsbereit. Wegen ihres Verhaltens werde ich nicht wiederkommen. Das Essen war gut.

Wir waren total begeistert... Schnell..frisch und geschmacklich der Hammer 🥰. Wir kommen wieder.

Leckerstes Essen in Aachen und so nettes, zuvorkommendes Personal.

War schon öfter bei AKL und bin jedes Mal aufs Neue bewundert wie gut das Essen wirklich ist. Man mag denken das wenn man paar mal bei einem Laden essen war, es einem langweilig wird, aber dies ist bei AKL nicht der Fall. Jedes Gericht ist perfekt abgestimmt und gewürztechnisch so ausgefeilt das es jedes Mal auf‘s neue unfassbar lecker ist. Die Preise sind dazu sehr angemessen für die (teils überraschend) großen Portionen die man bekommt und das Essen hat allgemein eine überdurchschnittlich gute Qualität. Unbedingt den Grillteller probieren. Der einzige Kritikpunkt den ich habe, ist das es fast rund um die Uhr, besonders abends, recht voll ist. Somit empfehle ich jedem der plant dort essen zu gehen einen Tisch zu reservieren. Ich meine wenn man mal spontan vorbeikommt findet sich oft trotzdem ein freier Fleck aber eine Reservierung schadet nicht.

akl schawarma ist das leckerste in Aachen & das leckerste was es überhaupt gibt !!

Dieser Laden ist Kult. Und das zurecht.

Ich habe dem Laden zwei Sterne gegeben, weil das Essen insgesamt leider nicht überzeugen konnte. Das größte Problem war, dass fast alles extrem trocken war. Das Fleisch war regelrecht totgegrillt und dadurch sehr trocken, genauso wie der Reis. Es hat einfach an Saftigkeit gefehlt, wodurch das Essen insgesamt wenig Genuss gebracht hat. Auch die Falafeln waren leider sehr trocken und hätten deutlich saftiger sein können. Der Salat war zudem komplett ungewürzt – weder Salz noch Pfeffer waren erkennbar, was ihn ziemlich fade gemacht hat. Insgesamt hat das Essen dadurch sehr eintönig und trocken gewirkt. Hier wäre es wirklich wichtig, mehr auf Saftigkeit und Würzung zu achten, damit die Gerichte lebendiger und geschmackvoller werden.Und was mir aufgefallen ist. Ist der Chef oder wer das war sehr sehr unfreundlich. Ich hoffe, dass sich das in Zukunft verbessert.

Es gibt viele vegetarische und vegane Gerichte, und das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Wenn ihr im benachbarten Egmont speisen wollt, könnt ihr das zwar, bekommt euer Essen dann jedoch nicht auf Porzellantellern, sondern in Wegwerf-Pappbehältern reingeklatscht. Das fanden wir weder cool noch appetitlich.

Ein sehr gemütliches Restaurant mit einer angenehmen und einladenden Atmosphäre. Das Restaurant ist offensichtlich äußerst beliebt und immer gut besucht und das völlig zu Recht. Das Personal ist ausgesprochen freundlich, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Mehrmals wurde nachgefragt, ob alles in Ordnung ist und ob wir noch etwas benötigen. Der Service war hervorragend und das Essen wurde zügig serviert. Die Preise sind für heutige Verhältnisse mehr als fair und absolut angemessen. Die Portionen sind sehr großzügig, abwechslungsreich und geschmacklich hervorragend. Wir waren mit sieben Personen dort und ich habe auch meine Freunde nach ihrer Meinung gefragt. Alle waren sehr zufrieden. Der einzige kleine Kritikpunkt kam von zwei Personen, die fanden, dass das Hähnchenfleisch etwas trocken war. Das ist jedoch Geschmackssache und eher als kleiner Verbesserungsvorschlag zu verstehen vielleicht könnte das Fleisch etwas saftiger zubereitet werden. Insgesamt war unser Besuch rundum gelungen. Wir kommen immer wieder sehr gerne hierher. Dieses Restaurant gehört definitiv zu meinen absoluten Lieblingsrestaurants. Bei größeren Gruppen sollte man unbedingt im Voraus reservieren, da das Restaurant fast immer ausgebucht ist. Zu zweit hat man mit etwas Glück auch ohne Reservierung noch die Chance auf einen Platz. Klare Empfehlung – wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!★★★★★

Es wurde mehrfach nachgefragt, ob wir zufrieden sind oder ob was fehlt. Das essen wurde für einen Samstag Betrieb recht zügig zubereitet. Ich kann es nur empfehlen.

Das Essen hat mir geschmeckt, die Portionen waren für den Preis angemessen. Mein Partner meinte jedoch, es habe nicht nach nahöstlicher Küche geschmeckt, sondern sei wohl an den lokalen Geschmack angepasst worden. Die Atmosphäre war recht angenehm, obwohl die Tische sehr eng beieinander standen, sodass man sich beim Essen etwas eingeengt fühlte. Mit dem Service war ich unzufrieden, da wir 20 Minuten warten mussten, ohne bedient zu werden, und uns schließlich in die Schlange für den Außer-Haus-Verkauf einreihen mussten. Auch die Art der jungen Kellnerin fand ich unangebracht. Sie suchte ständig Blickkontakt mit mir, ohne uns zu beachten, obwohl wir schon saßen.

Tolles Lokal. Man kann sich schnell was auf die Hand holen oder sich ins Restaurant setzten. Das Restaurant ist meist recht voll, also kann sich eine Reservierung lohnen. Nettes Service Personal. Ist auch gut für Vegetarier:innen und vegane Personen geeignet. Mein Lieblingsgericht dort ist das Batata Sandwich.

Excellent Lebanese restaurant! We were very satisfied with our visit. The food and service were truly excellent, and even though we were a large group, we didn't have to wait long for our order. The portions are very generous, which made it quite reasonably priced. We'll definitely be back!

I've been coming here about once a week for over 10 years. My rating used to be 5 stars. Unfortunately, the quality has declined since the opening of the third location. I was brought the wrong side dish, and the portion of meat was also significantly smaller than before. Unfortunately, the salad no longer had the dressing it used to have. I hope AKL recovers and that it was simply a communication issue between the kitchen and the waitstaff, or perhaps due to stress. The completely wrong dish was brought to the next table. These things happen, but today there were more inconsistencies than in the last 10 years. The music and noise level were also unusually loud today.

Delicious food and decent service. Drinks were quite expensive, but the food was very fairly priced. The chicken in the shawarma was well-seasoned and actually quite tender, but still a bit dry. The AKL sauce is addictive.

For me, the best shawarma in town! It's always busy and can get hectic quickly. But the food is truly fantastic!

The food is really delicious and I highly recommend visiting the restaurant! 🍽️ The chicken dishes, especially the shawarma, are amazing – I give them ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. The meat dishes are also good but not quite perfect, they get ⭐⭐⭐⭐. The staff is very nice, the service is excellent and the prices are reasonable – not expensive at all. A really nice experience, I will be back!

Very tasty and beautifully presented. They make their own hummus and it's the best hummus I've ever had. We ordered the Grilltella for two and couldn't finish it. We took the rest to go because it seemed a shame to leave it.

This Arabic restaurant is extremely delicious and very spicy. I highly recommend this restaurant to people who aren't vegetarians or vegans, or even to those people. I had a shish tavouk at this restaurant and I would recommend it to anyone.

The music was horribly loud. I waited for hours for shawarma. Too expensive. In Cologne, shawarma costs 3-4 euros everywhere. Here, it's 7 euros. Poor Aacheners.

Simply amazing! Very dedicated and attentive staff. Very child-friendly. Unfortunately, we couldn't get a seat in the restaurant, but they arranged for us to be seated in the café across the street. The food was fantastic. A wide selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes.

We read online that the interior was small, so I decided to call to make a reservation. I felt like they weren't fully understanding me on the phone (in English). Once there, there was plenty of room, and we were seated. The food was delicious! As a vegetarian, I had plenty of options. It was very noisy because the kitchen is at the front of the restaurant and many people also come for takeout.

I've been coming to AKL in Aachen since 2012, and it's always a real pleasure! The quality has never changed over the years—everything is still as fresh, flavorful, and generous. Special mention goes to the Messa Teller and the AKL Dip, absolutely delicious and perfectly seasoned. The welcome is always warm, the service fast, and the atmosphere pleasant, whether eating in or taking away. A sure bet in Aachen, which I recommend without hesitation!

I went there for dinner and had Fattet Batinjän and Muhamarra as starters. Both were prepared very quickly and incredibly delicious.

I've visited the restaurant several times and have to say: The ambiance in the city center is really nice, the location is ideal for students, and they also offer the option of ordering drinks and cocktails, which makes the visit very pleasant. About the food: I tried the "Tavukšiş" menu. A positive aspect is that you get three chicken skewers – more than usual – along with salad, fries, and a sauce. The fries are fresh and well-seasoned, and the sauce tastes acceptable. I have to criticize the meat itself, however: Anyone familiar with meat quality will notice that the chicken itself tastes very neutral, and the flavor comes almost exclusively from the breading. The meat itself should actually be flavorful – but that's not the case here. The salad is unfortunately disappointing: It doesn't seem fresh, the leaves are slightly sour in places, the pieces are very coarsely chopped, the tomatoes and cucumbers are sparse, the sauce is tasteless, and the seasoning (salt, pepper) is lacking. The bread served with the meal is rather dry and seems like it came out of a bag. The restaurant could improve this, for example, by lightly toasting it or offering fresh bread. The meal is priced at €13–14, and the portions are filling; you'll definitely be full. The drinks menu is limited – there's no regular Coke, only Fritz-Cola. Overall, the restaurant is average: the ambiance and portion sizes are good, but the quality of the meat, salad, and bread leaves something to be desired. It's not bad, but not outstanding either. You'll be full, but nothing more – you'll somehow be left feeling unsatisfied :).

AKL is simply an Aachen institution. We've ordered takeout countless times and then eaten it on the steps of the Katschhof. Especially with the newly renovated restaurant, eating in is also worthwhile. We particularly enjoyed the Jellebschorle!

Inflation has hit this fast food restaurant particularly hard. Nearly €18 for a Sharwama plate with lots of rice and salad, a little chicken and a glass of water. I won't go there again; it's clearly excessive.

Probably one of the best Lebanese food places in Aachen. The food tastes great and the grilled vegetables in the sandwiches is awesome - a highly recommended spot. The place is a bit cramped and have outgrown their popularity. There's recently new space next-door but the ordering area is still way too narrow. two stars down for asking for tips on the card processing machine

I've been a guest at AKL countless times and have been a regular for some time now, enjoying the best shawarma for miles around. There's simply nothing better. You can try everything from the menu, and no dish is even remotely disappointing. And the price/performance ratio is absolutely top-notch! For me, AKL is one of the best restaurants in all of Aachen. Highly recommended!

Really a nice restaurant with friendly staff! We did not reserve before but still they accommodated us and gave us a table 😊 food was amazing!!! Portions are huge and they make really flavourful Lebanese food. Would highly recommend this place 👍👍👍

Delicious and affordable meals with incredibly big portions. However, workload at this place is not normal at all. The waiter with curly hair is extremely hardworking and incredibly kind. I hope he is paid at least three salaries a month. If not, make his burden lighter by hiring some extra staff.

We had a falafel sandwich and a shawarma sandwich for lunch. It was absolutely delicious! Good quality, low prices, and attentive staff.

Four of us stopped at Egmont Cafe and had our food delivered by Akl. Some people might like it, but anyone who's enjoyed Lebanese cuisine in Beirut, Damascus, Cairo, or Doha will be disappointed here. There's a lot of frying, fries are the standard side dish, and you'll end up stuffed. In conclusion: If you want a large portion from a Lebanese snack bar on a relatively small budget, Akl is the place to go. But if you want a good meal with friends, go somewhere else! And another tip: Don't order all the starters and main courses right away, as they'll arrive one after the other. Order the (substantial) starters first, and then decide how hungry you are later.

There were three of us here and we ordered one appetizer plate and one grill plate. We also had babaganosh because of the crispy bread. Everything was highly recommended. Special praise for the crispy bread. The service was warm and welcoming. I'm very satisfied.

Very good food during the day, but unfortunately not in the evening. I can't say exactly why, but maybe the staff are just overtired. I won't order after 8 p.m., but I still like it before then. Service is good, but you often have to wait a long time, and the food is ready long before you're called 😂
