There is very tasty food here at very reasonable prices. ... to take away or simply sit down for a drink at Egmont next door and enjoy the food there. The Egmont does not have its own kitchen. The cooperation is going great.

The Shawarma is worth the price…kebab was not upto the mark..

Located near the center of Aachen with excellent value for money. You can also eat without a reservation, because there are many seats (especially outside). Quick and friendly service. Very recommended!

The shawarma was delicious. Despite the crowds, the food was served very quickly. It's also pretty cool that you can sit in the bar next door and order something to eat from the neighboring shop. A real win-win for both businesses.

Excellent food, friendly, helpful service, a great buzz to the place. Gets pretty busy but we walked through to the back room which was really lovely. Couldn’t believe how reasonably priced everything was! Worth visiting Aachen again just to eat here!

AKL and Egmont work together (drinks Egmont, food AKL). Nice style, nice cooperation concept, but unfortunately the AKL was totally overwhelmed today despite the moderate number of visitors. Sat there for 15 minutes, no one came to take the food order despite several signals given. Waste of time during the already short lunch break. It was also the second rather disappointing experience here.

The food is amazing, is a mix of eastern food and the western add-ons to food. You would enjoy their menu as they have a lot of stuff in it. Shawarma is highly recommended

It's a shame that they adapt the dishes so "for Germans". You miss out on the original Lebanese food, which tastes much better.

The four of us wanted to eat at AKL yesterday. The only "free" table on the terrace was occupied by the AKL staff who were taking a break there to smoke. When we asked if we could eat at the table, we were told "yes in a few minutes when we have finished our break". We thought that was pretty cool! We waited another 5 minutes and they continued smoking without a care in the world, ignoring us even though they knew there were customers waiting. We ended up having a delicious meal somewhere else. The AKL will not see us again. We have rarely been treated with so little respect in a restaurant!!

Real excellent Lebanese cuisine! Very kind staff and quick service. The only flaw is the environment: we were seated inside, too hot and a bit too fast food climate. I would not recommend it for a romantic dinner, but if you want to have a super meal, in that case you certainly can't go wrong!

We recently had dinner at AKL. Because of good reviews, we were often disappointed (especially in student areas). Unfortunately, that was also the case here. The shawarma was quite dry and the rice was rather bland. The sandwich wasn't anything special either. Maybe we just had a bad day when it came to eating. We will go back a second time to convince ourselves otherwise Service was really nice, quick and attentive. There is seating inside and outside. There is a lot going on there and therefore quite loud. It's not really comfortable. But you know that if you plan to go there

Classics here in Aachen, cocktails/drinks at Egmont and service from the AKL. The food was excellent and came quickly.

Insanely delicious food, good portion sizes. You can also eat food in the adjacent pub. The atmosphere in the restaurant is rather hectic. Also very tasty things to take away.

One star for good Fanta and music, the rest, no service, we waited 30 minutes for service for food. Inside you only get drinks and only service for drinks. Food was cold (falafel sandwich), but still ok. The delivery system for those who pick them up is very bad. Instead of being processed in order, the food is given out according to sympathy (acquaintances get food after 2 minutes without ordering, others wait 15-20 minutes for sandwiches). That used to be better, what a shame!!

Popular - and with good reason. Absolutely delicious Lebanese food served by a bustling staff who produce stunning amounts of hot, flavourful food for a small space. Queues out of the door on the (hot) day we visited nearly put us off but there was indoor seating available and we received our meals very quickly. Definitely worth a visit!

I would like to write something nice, but unfortunately that's not possible. To be fair, I can't say anything about the food because we decided not to order after waiting 35 minutes for the waiter. When I asked a waitress, the answer was that it wasn't her problem. A pity.

The AKL is a very nice snack bar in downtown Aachen. There are classic Lebanese specialties here. There is only a small amount of seating, but you have an agreement with the café next door that you can also eat the things from the AKL there. The staff is friendly. I had a falafel salad and the falafels are really delicious Update May 2024: I was there again today and had the falafel menu with oriental rice. The food was really tasty. The salad had a bit of a lack of dressing for my taste. And the rice and falafel are also dry. So I would have liked a little more of the yogurt dip. Maybe I should have just asked... Overall it was delicious and the staff was attentive and friendly.

If you want to eat delicious shawarma in Aachen, a visit to AKL is a MUST!!! They have the tastiest shawarma and the best samosas. So far we have never been disappointed. The service is always friendly and nice and you feel very comfortable there. Sitting inside isn't that comfortable right now, but you can do it.

We could not get enough of this restaurant! We stayed in Aachen for three nights and ate here two times. The price quality performance is outstanding. Everything was incredibly delicious.

Sure, a lot is sold over the counter, but you can also eat right here with oriental music. If you don't want that, you can grab a table next door in Egmonts, place your order in AKL and can enjoy the very cozy ambience of Egmonts. If you like Arabic/Oriental food, you'll get your money's worth at AKL. And my tip: choose rice instead of fries. Vegans also have a large selection! Have I already said that everything tastes delicious

The place is nice but really crowded and you get to order food and drinks from 2 different restaurant that is next to each other :) We only order one plate of 2 because it's too much for us, and the meat is also on the dried side For the drinks, bloody mary was a nightmare but lychee tropical was really really nice, highly recommend getting lychee tropical to pair it with the food

The food is very delicious and the preparation time is very fast. The only problem is that the dine-in places are limited, so, in peak hours, it is difficult to find a table. In addition, the kitchen is open to where the customers sit, so the clothes would have a very strong smell of fried oil and grilled food after leaving the place. The latter can be solved by sitting in the next door bar, Egmont, and ordering food from AKL— the two places have a deal to make this possible. Egmont also has a very good selection of drinks, so the experience is good as well. In general, the place is very good and the restaurant is highly recommended.

This is one of the best restaurants in Germany, let alone Aachen! The food is always fresh, tasty and plentiful. The service is good, which is provided even in the bar next door, where you can sit and enjoy drinks also. Prices are very fair. Absolutely recommend for good Arabic food!

Not bad for takeaway, but pretty oily & a white stuff (in the ful) that could be tahini or yoghurt but could also be mayo/salad cream. The kibbeh was decent. But it was all lukewarm and felt microwaved.

Best shawarma in Europe we have tried so far and its very close to the authentic arabic shawarma. They have tawook which is also super tasty… didnt need to wait that long despite a quite crowded day! Recommended if you visit Aachen! Cheers! :)

I'm not sure how to pronounce it, but anyway, number 26 shish tabuk is so delicious haha. Once you taste it, you won't think about Turkish kebab for a while.

We were next door in Egmond and got food from AKL, I think this system is really great. The food was rich and delicious. The people are very nice and come over regularly to see if anyone wants to order something. The waiting time was okay, we sat comfortably and had a restaurant atmosphere. Only recommended.

Quite the waiting line here. And the food say why. Tried their mini mesa platter. It’s quite filling. 6 mixed samosas, 2 falafel, 1 kibbeh, 3 crispy puff pastry rolls, bread and salad. Served with freshly prepared dips: Hummus, Tajen, Muhammara and our homemade AKL dip. The one in the middle is sweet but other dips are quite good. So was the samosas and falafels.

There used to be very tasty and authentic food here, but unfortunately the demand now significantly exceeds the capabilities of the very small kitchen. Prices have doubled, portion sizes have halved, and unfortunately the quality often suffers, especially at peak times.

Sitting in the Egmont (€4.70 0.3 Cola lol) with AKL food was very comfortable and tasty.

Great food, super nice people and food comes relatively quickly. 10/10. Drinks are also sweetly decorated and delicious. All in all I can only recommend Mega. Particularly suitable for students, as it also has incredible prices, but you get really great food.

AKL Lebanese Restaurant offers truly delicious food of high quality and generous portions. I was impressed by the variety of flavors and I can especially recommend the Masshawi BBQ platter! The only small drawback was that you have to pay for drinks and food from different waiters, which makes the service a bit complicated. Nevertheless, overall my visit was very pleasant and I would like to come back!

I highlight the grilled lamb (kebab), very tasty and well done, also the selection of beer was one of my favourite in German, but the sauces and dips… we expected better quality, too much liquid and samosas, fries and rolls too greasy. Nice place to go for Lebanese food but average quality. Acceptable price.

Like the cathedral, AKL belongs to Aachen. Simply delicious Lebanese cuisine right on the market. The numerous people waiting reveal that the food and cooking here is delicious. But don't be put off, many chefs work hand in hand in the kitchen and it's always quick. The menu is varied and leaves nothing to be desired! Particularly worth mentioning is the successful cooperation with the neighboring Egmont, if you can't find a free table in the main restaurant. Finally, I can only recommend the great buffet to everyone for almost every occasion!

The restaurant is bigger than you think, but you actually sit very close together. The noise level is uncomfortably high. The toilets are completely covered in graffiti. The prices are very cheap. The portions are normal size. The house dressing has hardly any taste and is unfortunately included in most dishes. The service is friendly, but you have to make your presence felt. The drinks and food are billed separately for a reason I don't know.

Food is simply delicious. It is my go to spot when I crave shawarma, but when the place is busy then the survice is not good enough.

Previously - in 2015 - the store was really great. Meanwhile the sharwarma is extremely dry and the beef was very heavy on my stomach. The fries weren't even cooked through. Only the price justifies a visit. I won't be leaving for years.

Small atmosphere could be bigger but the food is something different and highly recommended
