Tiny hidden gem with delicious vegetarian food! The business lunch during work days is amazing and super affordable (6-8 EUR for a big meal between 11am and 3pm). The owners and staff are friendly and the cooks really know their stuff. The atmosphere is very homely and informal with a lot of regular costumers.

Without any doubt, the best Indian food in Berlin! Went there with many Indian friends and had a super tasty banquet.

The place is very small. However food was good. Nothing fancy, but reminded me of the authentic homely taste because it was less spicy and not very hot as well. Has business lunch and we ordered a thali for 9,50euro.

Go there in an evening and order aloo paratha and a gravy. Best food ever

During the lunch break we went to Agni with Adrian... Spoiler: for me it was a disaster, for him it was the best Indian meal he's ever had. At first the shop was tiny and we were lucky that we got one of the 3 tables. Then we weren't noticed for a while because photos from a magazine or catalog were more important. Then after 5 minutes the question came as to whether we had already ordered. No, because in the 6 square meter store you would certainly have noticed. Then we ask if there is no menu. He seemed completely confused and wanted to send us outside because the current daily menu was apparently hanging there. I was about to get up when he gave us a card... ONE ! Adrian chose the “restaurant” and I knew why: 99% of everything was vegetarian or vegan. An absolute nightmare for me. I chose something with cream cheese and curry cream sauce. So this sauce has never seen even a hint of cream. Then I wanted a garlic naan bread, what came? A Bhatura!! Then it got busy, but people seemed to be regular customers as everyone was already coming with their own boxes.

The best authentic Indian food you can have in berlin. Very authentic people and home atmosphere.

Tried Delhi Soya Chaap and Sooji Halwa. Most of the dishes are also available in Vegan. Owner and the staff was very friendly and it felt like I am in Punjab. Sooji halwa without ghee felt every bit as yummy. Found first authentic north indian restaurant in Berlin after trying many other in last 2 years. This restaurant only serves Vegan and Vegetarian options in this location.

As a girl growing up in Toronto ( also I have Indian roots), I am used to eating really good Indian food. German Indian food has disappointed in the past. However, Agni was AMAZING! The sauces were all homemade, the food was seasoned and well spiced. No water down products here. My vegetarian German husband loves it there. If you are sick of the generic, Indian restaurants here in Berlin, this is the place to go! Thank you!

Unscheinbar - aber unglaublich. Super gemütlich mit ganz tollen veganen und vegetarischen Gerichten - unbedingt probieren - wir kommen wieder :-)

Ich finde Agni ist das beste Indische Restaurant Berlins und serviert für mich tatsächlich auch das beste Indische Essen außerhalb Indiens, das ich bisher probieren durfte. Die Bathura sind göttlich! Ich esse am liebsten Paneer Lajwab, das kann ich sehr empfehlen. Selbst als ich in Kerala reisen war, träumte ich manchmal vom Essen hier.

Kleiner feiner Laden, eine wirkliche Institution unter den ganzen "europäisch-indischen" Restaurants (im Kiez). Hatten früher Mal das wirklich beste "Butter-Chicken" Berlins. (Ein guter Freund meinte einmal zu mir "Bruder, besser als das meiner Schwester und da sagt meine Oma das sei das Beste!") 🤤🤤🤤 Ich hörte aber, es wird wohl mittlerweile nur noch vegetarisch gekocht, da kann ich mich aber auch irren, da ich gestehen muss - schon länger nicht mehr Vorort gegessen bzw. bestellt zu haben. Egal, was auch immer aus der kleinen Küche kommt ist zum Niederknien. Manchmal haben wir nur verschiedene Brote und Soßen genommen. Herrlich. Unbedingt ausprobieren.

Das Essen war nicht schlecht. Besonders die Samosa waren okay. Ansonsten viel zu überschätzt, auch die anderen Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehbar. Nicht wirklich günstig. Die Toilette funktionierte nicht und man sass quasi auf den Schoß des Nachbarn. Schon deutlich besser indisch in Berlin gegessen. 2 Punkte wirklich nur wegen den Samosas.

War letzte Woche Dienstag da (25.07.) und habe wie immer Kadai Paneer bestellt. Es war sooooo unfassbar lecker! Noch besser als sonst. Bitte macht es immer so 😍😍😍 Das ist echt das beste was ich je in einem indischen Restaurant gegessen habe! 🔥🔥

Kleiner authentischer, familiärer Laden. Bestellungen funktionieren auf Englisch besser. Die Gewürze treiben das Regenwetter aus den Knochen. Nicht scharf, aber sehr aromatisch und sehr empfehlenswert. Probiert den Mango Lassi!

This resurent only has vegiterian stuff so I would say only vegiterian resturent in berlin as per my knowledge atlest They have delhi chap, which I never find at any other restaurant and other vegetarian curries, which are rare to find in berlin. The resturent don't have much space for sitting, and also, I felt that in resturent, they served less quality as compared to delivering quantity. Prices are little high as compare to other Indian resturents. The taste is awesome. The food quality is good. Staff is nice. Prefer to pack and bring and eat at home father than on resturent. Go for it.

Bit of a hidden gem - a small restaurant on a not so busy street. It can be hard to find actual spicy and authentic Indian food in Berlin but this hit the spot! Big portions and reasonable prices too :)

Fantastic food and very helpful staff. I was struggling to find what I’m used to on the menu so the chef told me he’d cook whatever I wanted. I intended to get a take-away and eat it across the road by the river, making do with plastic cutlery, etc. I arrived to collect the food to find the chef had laid my food out on a decorative tray with proper cutlery, telling me to bring it back when I was finished. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

When you cant cook , just dont pretent to cook. Firstly - cash only . Seriously!!!! I ordered samosa chatt and tikki chatt. Both were disasterous.. taste -0 , quality -0 . I ordered a pickup from lieferando. When i went inside to ask how much time it will take the cook behaved very rudely. And then asked to wait for 30 min. I waited for 30 min exactly, when i went back in, my order was prepared already and kept on the table long back. But he didnt care to inform me , even after he knew i was waiting outside.

Ein winziges, unscheinbares indisches Lokal mit köstlichem Essen zu fairen Preisen. Empfehlenswert - besonders bei schönem Wetter, um Mittagessen zum Mitnehmen zu bestellen. Die Samosas waren sehr gut, allerdings fehlte dem Paneer Tikka Masala eine würzige Note. Ansonsten fanden wir alles lecker. Als wir das Restaurant im Sommer besuchten, war es drinnen sehr eng und heiß. Der Koch empfahl uns, am Spreeufer im Park zu sitzen. Er gab uns ein Tablett mit und brachte sogar eine Teekanne mit ;-) Vielen Dank!

This is probably the best Indian restaurant in Berlin. The city is suffering from somany bad Indian restaurants that cater German taste and spice tolerance. Not Agni. And this branch is even better than the other one in pberg which isn't vegetarian. Today I had grilled paneer (real Paneer unlike in somany other restaurants) in a spicy sauce with rice and Naan was just perfect and reminded me the distant days of my travels to India. Only drawback - cash only.

Leider sehr klein, so dass man etwas Glück braucht, einen Sitzplatz zu bekommen. Zu empfehlen daher auch nur für die Mittagspause und zum Mitnehmen. Aber das Essen schmeckt und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist unschlagbar. Update im Juni 2023: mittlerweile gibt es nur noch vegetarische bzw. vegane Gerichte. Tut dem Geschmack keinen Abbruch und dem Körper auch mal ganz gut. Alle sind superfreundlich und man kann sich prima zum Essen gegenüber an die Spree setzen.

We've dined here 3 times and the food is decent and the staff are kind, but unfortunately the owner made our last visit unenjoyable… We came in with a few small groceries and as soon as we sat down, she pointed at them and said "you can't eat that here". When we paid she gave us 5€ instead of 25€ in change and was completely unapologetic about the mistake… strange interaction and attitude

Agni ist immer super lecker! Es ist immer frisch und mit so viel liebe zubereitet. Es gibt eine rießige Auswahl an vegetarischen und veganen Gerichten. Sehr empfehlenswert

I visited this place, very small kitchen, rates are little high and quantity is low as compared to other restaurants. But the thing which happened is a plate of salat cost 4.5 euro which I think was height as it does not include a single onion too. Also they take only cash. Taste wise was good

I will first say the pros and then explain the reason for 1 star. Pros: Food was awesome. Delicious. The best Indian Food I had in Berlin till date Cons: Attitude of the lady (I assume she was the owner). I visited the restaurant with my wife. We got a table and we placed the order and drink. My wife was thirsty and we had bottle of water in the bag. She took a sip from the bottle. Now this lady comes running and says, 'Do you know, You should not bring food or water from outside. Its a rule'. I said, 'Ok, I have been to other hotels here and no one has stopped from drinking water'. Then comes her Awesome 'Gyan'. 'This is an "International Rule". You are not supposed to drink water that you bring from outside'. I said, 'I haven't heard about such a rule, anyway we don't want to create a fuss, so I am keeping the bottle inside' and kept the bottle inside. She still ranted about the 'International Rule' that she only knows for some more time. I understand that you are not allowed to bring food or juices to hotel, but it was just plain water. I am not comfortable with the idea of buying Water in plastic bottle, whenever i visit a restaurant and most restaurant in Berlin gives you Tap water if requested. So we prefer to bring water with us. Her attitude was very rude, she was not even ready to understand the situation. Just plain rude and loud. Agni, you just lost two customers. We will never visit your restaurant ever again

Best Restaurant for Indian Food in Berlin..!!

Hands down one of the best in Indian cuisine in Berlin. You can miss this restaurant in a blink of an eye, it isn’t very well lit. We ordered soya chaap, daal makhni, and chapatis. You can replace rice with chapati by paying additional 50cents which is amazing in my opinion. The owner is a very friendly gentleman open to conversations. Would visit again.

Wow…man würde es bei dem Laden nicht erwarten, aber SUPER leckeres Essen (va zum Mitnehmen…vor Ort Essen würde ich nicht empfehlen). Sehr,sehr viele vegetarische und auch Vegane Gerichte …und alles, was wir ausprobiert haben, war lecker!!!

I love this place, Vegetarian have proper authentic options and real taste of India. It is small and I think they have another branch as well. This is quite small but good to go for quick bite and take aways.

Hatte Palak Paneer und Garlic Naan bestellt, man bekommt die Gerichte auf dem typischen Metallgeschirr. Der Geschmack und die Portionen überzeugen, insgesamt hat mir aber bei beidem das Salz gefehlt - und zwar deutlich. Ein kleiner, feiner Laden.

Best Indian food restaurant in Berlin

I’ve spent months in Berlin trying to find Indian food as good as I can find in London at home. This place is the first one I’ve found which actually has spice (unlike most places in Germany!), and I was so impressed. Will definitely come again!

The best 'Chaap' I ever had! (Even including ones from India). The owner Sanjay makes chaap from scratch, then marinades it in typical North Indian style and grills it in a traditional Indian oven (Tandoor). Also, must-try the Aloo Parantha, and Dal Dera with Lachha Parantha👌👌👌

This small vegetarian restaurant is a popular take away restaurant. Although, it has very small sitting area also, still it is always busy with order for delivery and take away. Food is very tasty and I strongly recommend their Dal and Punjabi kulcha. Their masala tea is superb.

The foods are good but I felt a bit expensive though. They don't accept any card which can be trouble for lot of people who are new here in Berlin. The place a bit small but clean. The owner is quite friendly! I won't recommend for those people who wants to go and have meal togather with in group.

As an Indian guy I was sceptical as usual with Indian restaurants. I had a quick chat with the owner and requested for a vegan dish: Methi Alu (potato with Fenugreek leaves) without chilli. To my surprise the dish tasted authentic, no creamy gravy, no chilly, perfect with rice or roti. This is the only dish I took away and an absolute recommendation without chilli ;)

Hier treffen sich um die Mittagszeit regelmäßig die Angestellten aus den Firmen der näheren Umgebung . Da wird es auch schon mal etwas stressiger. Aber das muss man einfach hinnehmen. Dafür kommt dann auch eine einfache, um nichts zu verbessernde Küche, auf den Teller, oder wie jetzt leider in die Pappschüssel. Ein kleines, verstecktes Juwel am Strand von Moabit. Und wahrscheinlich, wie ich vermute, weit darüber hinaus in der Stadt bekannt.

Einfach authentisches indisches Essen. Alles ein bisschen chaotisch und es dauert bei der Abholung etwas länger aber dafür bekommt man wirklich sehr leckeres Essen !!!

This small place has one of the best daal makhni's (~ black lentils cooked in butter and spices ) ever in Germany. The paneer tikka dry was also very well seasoned. Yes, the prices are slightly higher ( hence -1 star ) than any other Indian restaurant but once in a while if you're craving for authentic north Indian tastes, this place comes highly recommended. They also have kulcha ( a kind of bread ) which is( super soft & yumm) almost never offered in any other Indian restaurant. It's not for a big group of ppl owing to its size. But perfect for 2-3 ppl, or even better- takeaway.

Food is delicious, only problem is that the place is very small. Also they stopped serving non veg. There chicken curries were the best.

The seating arrangement is tight, hence I would recommend taking the food out. The vegetarian meals are very tasty and their prices are quite good. Meat and chicken dishes are not halal by the way. The restaurant accepts only cash payments, so be prepared with the bills.
