Gasthof Goldener Anker in Scheßlitz

We had an excellent, delicious meal here today. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. The prices are perfectly reasonable. The atmosphere is homely, and the restaurant is very clean and comfortable. Highly recommended!

We were really looking forward to the carp – instead, it was an absolute disaster. We ordered carp fillet, but what we got was a minefield of bones. And no, not small or edible bones, but really large, dangerous things. In the worst case, something like that can injure your esophagus or stomach – simply irresponsible! The taste was also abysmal: soggy, old, and simply unappetizing. For €19.90, it's an absolute disgrace and not worth a cent. I really can't recommend it to anyone. Nevertheless, the salad was a bright spot, and the potato salad was very tasty.

We had dinner there last weekend. The service was super friendly and attentive. The food was fantastic. The meat was very tender, the sauces were homemade, and the savoy cabbage tasted like grandma used to make. The salad was also very fresh, and the side dishes were excellent 👍🏼 We'll be back soon.

Essentially 5* potential. Very attentive service, and the food was served super quickly. Despite asking, the horseradish in the meat was unfortunately just a cream sauce with a horseradish flavor. The grated horseradish, which was promptly delivered, unfortunately had to be mixed into the remaining cream sauce by hand. This should have been easily done in the kitchen beforehand. However, they couldn't have charged an extra fee, especially since the dish cost four euros less four years ago (almost 50% more now). The sauce was unfortunately far too creamy and rooty. The meat and dumplings were excellent. Otherwise, it would have been 5*. Perhaps another time.

I haven't had such good Franconian food in a long time. The liver dumpling soup was fantastic, and for the main course, we had Schäuferla (a kind of pork stew). The sauce alone was divine, the meat was tender as butter, and the savoy cabbage was just like Grandma's. The service is unbeatable: very attentive and always friendly! All in all, highly recommended; we'd love to come back!

We called just before to make a spontaneous reservation and still managed to get a table for two. Because there were a lot of wasps at our table outside due to the weather, we were allowed to sit inside, despite our spontaneous visit. The service was excellent. Super friendly and welcoming. The whole atmosphere was very informal. The food arrived quickly and was truly delicious. It was also very plentiful and reasonably priced. Overall, highly recommended and a truly great restaurant. We happened upon this restaurant. We had the wild garlic noodles and chopped dumplings with egg on top. It was really delicious, and the decor is rustic and modern. Just perfect. Maybe a few more vegetarian dishes... cheese spaetzli or something... but otherwise, the food was really great.

During our vacation, we've already eaten at the Goldener Anker twice (my dog ​​was also allowed to come along). There are few restaurants that offer a cozy atmosphere, have attentive, courteous, and friendly staff (even on Whit Sunday, just before the lunch menu ended and despite the crowds), serve excellent food, and offer excellent value for money. High praise!

A top-notch restaurant with truly excellent Franconian cuisine. Very fast and attentive service, and in addition to Fässla beer, a variety of draft beers are also available. A lovely courtyard where you can sit outside in the summer. It's best to make a reservation on weekends, as every seat is taken!

Finally found a really nice Franconian inn again. If anyone feels like having Franconian food, they should leave the motorway here and take a break here. From carp to duck to roast dishes or schnitzel, there is everything here. I look forward to my next visit.

Gasthof Goldener Anker – A clear recommendation A beautiful, rustic restaurant in the heart of Scheßlitz. The friendly service and excellent food make the visit a real experience. Particularly noteworthy is the chestnut soup – simply amazing! The goose breast was super crispy, the dumplings were outstanding, and the savoy cabbage was also a delight. The venison ragout is also convincing across the board – an absolute dream. All in all, a wonderful restaurant that I can highly recommend. We would definitely like to come back!

We came across the restaurant following a recommendation and were not disappointed! The food was very tasty (sauerbraten with dumplings and red cabbage), the staff was incredibly friendly. The price-performance ratio is 100% and is particularly noteworthy. We would come back at any time!

Very unfriendly boss. Before we even said "Hello" we were shouted at by "wait outside" even though we weren't even in the restaurant yet. Luckily there are even more guesthouses in Scheßlitz.

A great restaurant that our family has visited several times a year for decades. A cozy atmosphere with home-style cuisine at absolutely fair prices. Very nice service and above all you can see and taste that the food is "handmade". We always enjoy coming back with friends and family.

Unfortunately our experience today wasn't so good. I ordered my salad without dressing (food intolerance). Unfortunately, when I got home I discovered that balsamic vinegar had been poured over all of the leaf salad, and the potato, carrot and cucumber salad had all been dressed with vinegar/oil. It would have been nice to have been pointed out during the phone call... The chicken was also swimming in an oily sauce and was also very tough/stringy. Currywurst was okay.

We ate here while passing through. Here you can get good Franconian specialties at fair prices. We'd love to come back!
